Family and friends visiting are always welcomed, even if you turn up at a busy period such as meal times. The bedroom and living areas always appear very clean and tidy. It's nice to see the elderly residents are well looked after and thought about during their latter years of life.
I would say, any person looking for a care home for their relatives, look no further than Belmont House Care & Nursing Home in Stocksbridge. It's an excellent place with staff, manager and residents. I love going to visit with my mum, I not only visit her, I feel I'm visiting everyone, staff and residents, the care is second to none. Cannot recommend Belmont House Care & Nursing Home enough, Mum is very happy being there, the carers are exceptional. Mum enjoys the company of other residents and always seems happy when we visit, she joins in with activities which she says she enjoys doing.
My father has been a resident for over two years. Excellent care. Friendly staff. Treated as an individual. Excellent choice of food. Plenty of activities. Everyone goes above and beyond. Kept well informed of Dad's care.
My mum is well cared for and her needs are well taken care of. Communication is very good and I am kept informed of any changes with mum. Kindness and dignity to residents is shown and staff are approachable for any concerns or questions I have. Domestic staff work hard to keep the home clean.
My Mum moved into Belmont House almost two years ago. She has had Alzheimer's for nine years and as the disease progressed she needed to go into full-time care. Before Mum moved into care she was not eating and was on protein drinks prescribed by her GP. She was losing weight and wasting away before our very eyes. She was also refusing to take her medication and threw her tablets across the room. As a consequence, she was feeling very ill. When Mum moved into Belmont House she started eating again. She is given food that she can eat with her fingers as she now struggles to use a knife and fork. She now has a good appetite and has gained weight. Her medication is given covertly so she is no longer getting the symptoms she had due to not taking her tablets. All of the staff there are wonderful. They treat Mum with dignity and she is very settled and happy. Nothing is too much trouble for them. I am always kept in the loop if there is a problem. I could not be happier with Mum's care.
My father moved to Belmont in January 2023. The staff have been nothing short of amazing on what has been an emotional roller-coaster. Dad had a real dip last Autumn and staff were fundamental in resourcing physiotherapy, tests, advice from the medical profession plus guidance and emotional support to myself. I felt so guilty for dad agreeing to move into Belmont and it has taken me a long time to process that guilt, however, it was the best decision I have ever made for my dad and I can never thank them enough.
Cannot pour enough praise on this care home. The management keeps me informed on any issues to do with my wife's health and well-being. The staff are all very caring and treat the residents with the utmost respect whilst preserving as much of their dignity as possible. Excellent.
They've been looking after my elderly uncle for over two years now and he's never been happier (certainly than the previous five years). He's late 80s with Alzheimer's but still has competent days. The care is excellent, clean and his room both practical and personal. The food is excellent and plentiful. Nurses 24/7. Highly recommended for dementia relatives. They also keep me updated about everything and let us make the medical and care decisions along with expert staff.
Belmont Care Home provide excellent care for my mum. The staff are also very friendly and helpful. The standard of both care and the general facilities are both excellent. Another very pleasing aspect is that the home does regular activities and trips with the residents.
My mum originally came to Belmont House Care and Nursing Home for respite and has just become a permanent resident. The change in my mum since moving in has been incredible. After a horrible year of ill health and long hospital stays, she is mentally and physically healthier than she has been in a long time. I have previously worked in care homes and have seen good and bad, but at Belmont House Care and Nursing Home the staff genuinely care, the compassion and patience I have seen with my mum and other residents has been heartwarming and touching to see. Living far away from mum I feel completely reassured that she can now live her best life fully supported by amazing people. Thank you so much for everything Belmont House Care and Nursing Home.
Caring establishment. Show great patience when confronted by challenging situations. Have been kept well informed about issues relating to the resident I am related too. Resident is always clean and well presented.
The lady for whom I have LPA has dementia. I have seen how she and others are cared for with compassion. The staff demonstrate a good knowledge of dementia and are skilled in coping with distressed and confused residents. I have witnessed how they can distract and de-escalate situations with residents, becoming settled and calm again. Through my work, I have visited several care homes, and Belmont stands out above them in the quality of dementia care. The residents have a variety of activities and entertainment, which are much enjoyed. It is good and reassuring to have social media pages where residents can be seen to be happy and participating. The “good” overall rating is because of the physical environment/accommodation, which is quite cramped. If rating the quality of care only, it would be a clear “excellent”.
My father has received excellent care since becoming a resident of Belmont House. The staff are professional and engaging in every aspect. Despite my father's failing health both mentally and physically, he appears brighter and healthier than when previously received care in his own home - this can only be a result of the care provided by the staff at Belmont care home.
From my initial phone call with the care home manager to getting our dad/husband settled into Belmont, I can honestly say we have been met with nothing but kindness and compassion from a very supportive team of hardworking professionals. In what has been a very emotional couple of months, the whole team at Belmont has made our dad and us feel very welcome. He is cared for in all aspects of his well-being, and his dignity is maintained and respected.
My mother began life at Belmont in August 2021 and is approaching one year at the establishment. Belmont is all about people. The staff have been kind, both to me, my mother and my wider family. They respond swiftly to suggestions and welcome discussion regarding care. They are open to trying new procedures regarding care and behaviour management. We are constantly informed and updated about incidents and care plans, which we very much welcome. My mother is treated by all staff as an individual with specific needs; they know her well. My mother is settled, content and whilst not happy, I believe she is as good as she could be. I would without hesitation recommend Belmont House to anyone.
All the staff at Belmont House are amazing. The care that they provide is excellent. They treat the residents with the utmost respect, and nothing is too much trouble. They also treat the residents like they are family with love and compassion. I cannot thank them enough for everything they do to look after my father.
I want to personally thank everybody from Belmont Care Home for their professional care, understanding, and most of all, the friendliness they have given to my mum and family. Mum has been in Belmont now for exactly a year after a stroke. She has dementia, and it has been really hard for us to take in and for me personally found it heartbreaking to cope. Having to deal day to day with her problems, nothing is too much for them. The past year has been really hard due to Covid, and wasn’t ideal as a couple of weeks after she went in there Lockdown came. She has deteriorated quickly in the last year and now has no mobility at all. Every one of the team deserves recognition for their care, love and friendliness for what they do and I sincerely appreciate everything they do to caring for my mum.
Belmont House has given my family a wonderful gift, the relief of knowing our family members are safe. The staff are wonderful and work tirelessly to provide both clients and their families with the best of care and support. I have 3 grandparents taking residence in Belmont at present; we cannot thank them enough.
