View Full Details of Mickley HallAs a volunteer of several years, I have missed the contact with residents and staff over the past 12 months. I have however regularly looked at what has been happening at Mickley online and am pleased to see the range of events provided by the activities team. The commitment of the activities team and all other staff at Mickley in keeping the spirits of residents up during the current crisis is to be commended. I look forward to the time when volunteers are again able to visit and to assist in any way I can in enabling residents to take part in as many activities as possible. The role of volunteers at Mickley Hall is valued and the liaison with staff is very good. Being a volunteer is like being part of the extended Mickley 'family'. It is good to be involved with such an organisation.
I have been living in Mickley Hall for about 14 years. Sometimes I like being at Mickey Hall. About three years ago Mickley Hall was sold off to Valorum, this means they are very busy people who are coming into Mickey Hall from home and hospital. I think the carers are working very hard day and night 24 hours, round the clock. But I really think everyone is very happy to work and live in one of the best care homes in the area. This is why I like to live at Mickley Hall.
My partner was a resident at Mickley Hall for two and a half years. I have the utmost admiration for all the staff at Mickley Hall who always treated my partner with dignity, respect and love. The nursing care is exemplary and all the care/support staff professional and caring. Mickley Hall was a settled and happy home for my partner and, as are all the residents, he was truly made to feel part of the Mickley Hall family. The activity team are to be commended for their creativity and sheer energy in organising everything from crazy parties to days out at the seaside. They taught me that even in the tragic circumstances we found ourselves in we could still share moments of fun and joy. Those moments are now very precious memories. The management and staff of Mickley Hall have always been very caring and supportive to me also and for that I am truly grateful.
My wife has been a resident at Mickley Hall for over ten years and I have nothing but praise for the care she has received. During the covid lockdown, the staff have done all they can so that I can visit and on numerous occasions, a video call has been arranged.
Mickley Hall is a lovely care home and the staff concentrate fully on the needs of the residents whether it be personal care, friendliness, activities and outings (when permitted). My cousin is the longest resident and has been in Mickley Hall (previously Cheshire Home) for over 50 years. He enjoys every day and all the staff and other residents love him. I can't ask for more than that.
I have issues with the manager as I feel that she lacks social and communication skills which I believe is of great importance in such a role. However, the deputy manager and the rest of the team provide great care in a warm and friendly manner.
My son has been a resident of Mickley Hall for 16 years. He is very happy with his care. He gets on well with the staff and other residents. The staff are so caring in the care that they give. During the Covid-19 pandemic they have done everything possible to keep up morale. He is always clean when we have visited and even though we have not been able to see him much during the pandemic, we are confident that he is in good hands. There is a good variety of food and he is always given a choice of when he would like to eat. The building is kept in good repair and the facilities are fine including a physiotherapy room. There is a regular programme of entertainment including special meals such as Indian takeaways, Chinese New Year and Afternoon teas with baking done in house. We would certainly recommend Mickley Hall.
My brother has been a resident here since Christmas 2005. He was only 42 and suffered a massive heart attack that left him brain-damaged, immobile and doubly incontinent. The care and love he receives from the staff is superb. I have sometimes visited when staff are in his room caring for him. The door is closed, the staff do not know I'm outside... the way they talk to him in such kind and loving ways assures me that this is how he is always treated as he cannot tell us himself if he has a problem. Management liaises with all family to ensure that we are aware of his progress. I cannot fault the home or the staff.
