View Full Details of Moorend Place Nursing HomeMoorend Place and all their wonderful staff have been a godsend over the past 4+ years. When Mum's dementia deteriorated during Covid, we wanted to find a residential home that would always put Care and Kindness first. At Moorend Place this is definitely a priority. They went over and beyond to settle Mum into her new surroundings and have always been there to support Dad too. Mum passed away in Dec 2024 just a few weeks after our Dad joined her at Moorend. The staff couldn't have done any more to support us through this extremely difficult time. Our relationship with Moorend Place now continues with Dad. As another difficult chapter begins for our family we know Dad is in safe hands. As my sister and I both live abroad, good communication is essential. The manager and staff are exceptional in this regard. We have built up a good relationship with the home over the past 4 years and this provides us with much needed peace of mind. A massive thank you to you all.
My wife has not been in the care home that long, bit I have been very pleased with the care she has received ALL the staff are excellent and the patients are always their first priority. The home and rooms are always kept very clean. Activities have been limited due to the weather but will improve in the coming months.
My mum has been a resident at Moorend Place for 18 months now and it really does feel like home from home. The staff are professional but still manage to treat everyone as family. They take the time to come and chat with me and my mum when I visit and always check how I am doing too. Each time I visit I witness genuine love and kindness from the staff towards the residents around us. If my mum is feeling sleepy - especially in the afternoon - they will make her comfortable in bed for an hour instead of leaving her to sleep uncomfortably in her chair - which I think is lovely. The space is utilised well. There are 3 lounges and 2 dining rooms, which gives it a cosy feel, instead of one large room. I join my mum for lunch sometimes and the food is really good (especially the puddings). The activity staff are incredible and make a great effort to involve everyone as much as they can and make them feel special and important. The calendar is always busy with events. A lovely home.
Moorend Place staff are always welcoming and friendly. They seem to genuinely care about the residents and have always been extremely helpful in assisting our family. The home is clean and the residents well attended too. And the food is of a good standard.
Mum has been at Moorend for over 12 months. She is treated with dignity and kindness by the staff. The staff are truly amazing in their care of all the residents. They are patient, kind and accepting of all the residents' personal foibles. Relatives are always welcome and listened to regarding worries and concerns. The home has a pleasant atmosphere and provides a range of activities, including a regular Friday coffee morning. The manager is always available to listen to comments and suggestions, which are almost always acted upon. The decor is not the best, but the friendliness and genuine care from the staff make up for that.
The care at Moorend Place is excellent. Stable and caring staff, well managed and supportive of family members of residents. Reasonable facilities with regular activities. My wife receives nursing care and suffers from dementia although she's only 74 years old. She's been a resident at Moorend Place for more than 18 months after she was moved from a home that was unable to meet her needs. Moorend was chosen following advice from two sources. It's been a difficult time for family members but the support we've received from the staff and management has been exemplary.
My mum came to Moorend in August 2024, having had a rapid decline in her dementia. (My dad was also a resident for 2 years up to October 2019). Mum had been in respite at a few care homes in the summer, and none of them cared for her like Moorend. It really is amazing. Mum wasn't eating and spent all day in bed, but within 2 days of moving in she was asking for food and starting to interact. This was all down to the care of the staff, who have so much time and patience. The manager is extremely helpful and welcoming, and nothing is too much trouble. It speaks volumes that many of the staff are still there from 7 years ago when Dad was there. I have seen Mum come back to life. The activities are varied, and the staff really interact with the residents to get them involved and participating. Feedback is welcomed and listened to. It was great around Christmas as there was so much going on, from making decorations to festive coffee mornings. I can't thank the manager and staff enough.
Great home, all management and staff are great kind friendly welcoming, help me when I need anything. Really nice to Dad and understands his needs, got the patience carers are supposed to have. Can't recommend Moorend Place enough, come and see for yourself you won't be disappointed.
I cannot thank Moorend Place enough for all the kindness, care, and support they gave my Dad during the short time he spent with them. Every member of staff goes above and beyond for all the residents in their care, treating them all like family. This truly is a home from home they cater for all the resident's individual needs while gently encouraging them to enjoy the things they like the best. Be it music, painting, concerts or even enjoying a good movie western. Our family was always made to feel really welcome and the Forget Me Not cafe never closes. Thank you for making my Dad's final weeks and days comfortable and homely. You are brilliant.
First and foremost this facility is all about care and care is all about people. Every person we have interacted with in every capacity has an authentic caring nature, which has extended beyond their care for Mum and also included me and my family. The rooms are spacious and well equipped, meals are well prepared and provide variety. Activities are well thought out and engaging. The provision of care and nursing services ensures continuous end-to-end support. The best decision we helped Mum to make.
Dad was only in the home for a few months, but in that time the whole staff made us feel that nothing was too much trouble to make him comfortable and at home. Mum was made to feel that he was loved and it made such a difference to the guilt she was feeling for having to put him in a home (at the age of 94). All the family were welcomed and made to feel part of a larger family which we will miss enormously. We will be forever grateful for the team making the end of his life so much more bearable for him and our family. We would unreservedly recommend this home to anyone for the loving care and support given to us all. Thank you.
My mother has been on Moorend for about 18 months and has received care, consideration, respect, support, supervision, stimulation, and affection from all members of the care and nursing team. The activity team work very hard to provide engagement for residents. Mom looked forward to every meal. Sadly in August Mom passed away receiving end-of-life care, the staff were amazing compassionate and professional in dealing with every aspect. It made a major difference to the way we were able to deal with the passing. A big thank you to the whole Moorend Care family.
Excellent place - lovely little cafe and courtyard which holds regular activities, coffee mornings and family visits. Moorend Place is really a home-from-home. The level of care, thoughtfulness and compassion towards Dad and ourselves was outstanding and exemplary on every level and we could not have wished for better. We knew he was comfortable, settled, in safe hands, and got the best possible care being treated with dignity and respect. Staff at every level were professional, friendly and thoughtful towards both us and Dad. We felt that you really got to know Dad, his likes, dislikes, needs, and character and were therefore able to deliver truly holistic and person-centred care. It was clear that this was not just a job for the staff, they were interested in Dad's life and interests, regularly engaging him in meaningful conversation. All staff have an absolute passion and vocation for the care that they deliver. We cannot recommend Moorend Place highly enough.
My mum sadly passed away on 6 August 2023 at Moorend Place where she'd spent the last 15 months of her life. Throughout her stay, she was treated with love, kindness, humour, and respect, and I know that the staff ensured she lived the best possible life she could. The staff were always caring and incredibly supportive to family on visits no matter how busy and they were a huge, invaluable support to us during Mum's final days. Yes - the decor is a little tired, but the level of care and attention given to every resident and their families is outstanding. And that's what matters. A massive thank you to everyone at Moorend Place. Wishing you all the best.
Very caring staff and always on hand to answer any questions.
My wife became a resident at Moorend in July 2021. She suffers from Alzheimer's disease and is blind owing to damage at the visual centre of her brain. She is comfortable and contented in the security of her own room, but is frightened in other places and by noises that she cannot recognise. Hence, she has no wish for activities or entertainment, and she sleeps most of the time. I visit her almost every day and I have been extremely pleased to see how quickly she accepted her new way of life. She has never complained to me. I give great praise to the staff at Moorend for their success in settling my wife into her altered conditions. My daughters made a wise choice when they decided that Moorend was the right place for their mother.
My wife has been at Moorend Place since March of this year. I cannot fault the care that she is receiving. I am severely visually impaired and the treatment I receive from every member of staff is brilliant and I consider them to be my extended family. I look forward to seeing them when I visit as they always make me feel so welcome and they go above and beyond to help me.
The staff at Moorend are kind and hard-working. My feeling is that they do the best they can with what they have. There is a huge challenge on the second floor to keep the residents dressed appropriately in their own clean clothes, and keeping them united with their own spectacles which they don’t always achieve. My feeling is this is not a lack of willingness but merely reflects the enormity of this task and the ratio of staff to residents.
My mum has been in Moorend Place Nursing Home for over 3 years and seems very happy and settled there. She has vascular dementia and Alzheimer's which at times can be challenging to deal with. She has received exemplary care from all the staff at Moorend who are very patient and kind. I cannot fault her care and the staff who provide it.
My mum moved into Moorend Place in March. She receives amazing care from every member of staff. She is treated with dignity and respect, her medical needs are met exceptionally well. She is always clean and tidy which would mean a lot to her if she was more aware. My father visits more often than I am able to do and the staff are so welcoming to him as he has low vision. They take their time to escort him to visit my mum and will call him a taxi and wait with him to make sure he is safe. I cannot speak highly enough of Moorend Place I feel blessed that my mum is receiving care there. I also know she is safe and well which alleviates a lot of stress from me.
