View Full Details of Scarsdale Grange Nursing HomeScarsdale Grange has been like home from home for my husband. He was well cared for and very happy there. The staff are friendly, really care about the residents and make their visitors welcome, too. They treat everyone with dignity. It is very clean both in the individual rooms and the main communal areas.
I cannot thank them enough for their outstanding care of my Mum, Mum can be quite challenging and aggressive at times, which is part of her illness. They have shown empathy and have been very supportive, and over the last month or so, due to a medication review and change, there has been more of my Mum showing through her illness and her aggressive outbursts are a lot less. Each member of staff deserves every credit and thanks.
My husband was looked after very well for the last 3 months of his life here. The staff are well trained, very kind and caring. The atmosphere and his environment were very calm and friendly with reasonable food and snacks. The place is kept very clean and his personal care was very good. I would happily recommend the home to others whose family have dementia.
I had to find a permanent nursing home for my mum and it was proving to be a very difficult and stressful experience for me. From making the first phone call to Scarsdale Grange they made me feel much happier about moving my mum into permanent care. The staff have been lovely to my mum but also have taken time to reassure me too. My mum is at the end of her first week there and already looks much better and is back to her chatty self. Can't thank the staff enough for their help and dealing with moving my mum in very quickly.
Scarsdale Grange Nursing Home is a warm and friendly nursing home. We have been visiting our friend for over 12 months and never once have we experienced bad odours and therefore congratulate them on this. We find the care good and always find our friend clean and comfortable. We would, therefore, recommend Scarsdale Grange Nursing Home as a good care provider.
I have found the care home to be very homely and the staff friendly. Plans are being made to upgrade furnishings shortly. I visit twice daily and am quite satisfied with the home.
My mother aged ninety one suffered from dementia and heart problems went straight into Scarsdale Grange from hospital. From day one it was apparent, that ALL the staff were highly motivated to create a comfortable, safe and loving environment. The skills, training and professionalism of the nurses and carer’s made my mother’s stay as comfortable as possible. This combined with all the staff and management gave myself and family peace of mind knowing my mother was truly looked after and cared for 24hrs every day during her eleven months stay. At the end of my mother’s time, we received ongoing information in between our visits, to ensure our awareness of all processes in her condition again the total professionalism and care were exceptional. The home itself is very welcoming for visitors and we even took our small grandchildren regularly.
My husband was cared for at Scarsdale Grange for a period of 13months. The staff were extremely caring and always welcomed my family and myself as family members at every visit. My husband was well fed and encouraged to take part in many activities. There were regular entertainment eg singing craft work gardening and visits to the local pub. The staff became my friends and nursed my husband with tender loving care until he passed away. I would be pleased to recommend this nursing home to anyone.
I have been very impressed with the care and support my auntie has received from the staff at Scarsdale Grange. Whenever I visit I find all the staff very helpful to me and very warm and comforting to my aunt. She is 89 years old and can be very confused and aggressive at times but the staff always smile and remain calm and obviously understand her problems. The nursing home has a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
At the end of 2015, Scarsdale adopted the ‘Butterfly Approach’ and are working very hard to develop a real family home; The staff eat with the family and do not wear any uniform. Staff training by Dementia Care Matters is not yet complete and various different decorations and furniture arrangements have and are being carried out. My wife seems to be freer with the new arrangements and is certainly more responsive.
After 13 weeks in the hospital, my wife entered the nursing home in January 2015. At first, we both found it difficult for her to settle, but the staff were very helpful and understanding. In November 2015, management and staff joined the nationwide "dementia care matters" scheme and adopted the "butterfly" approach. This developed with time and resulted in the superb nursing home that Scarsdale is today, and where residents live's have greatly improved. The relationship between staff and residents is extremely good and friendly. My wife is very happy to be there, and her health has improved dramatically.
Since the new manager came to Scarsdale has improved day by day. The staff are very caring, helpful and supportive to my mum and to us as her family. Every time I visit I am amazed at how caring they are, and especially how patient they are as some people living there are quite demanding. The manager and the rest of the senior staff are brilliant as are all the staff!! Thank you all!!
I have visited several nursing homes over the years for other family members but I was highly delighted after visiting my aunt at the home. The staff are very attentive they "really care" the patients came first in all their needs- it's heart warming. The homes hygiene is second to none- it's a really pleasant environment to be in and I could stay myself. Every patient is allowed to do and be themselves. Really lovely place and staff.
The staff are all caring and dedicated; there was always someone around to talk to and any queries, however small, were followed up promptly. The home is visually stimulating, bright, cheerful and clean. I cannot praise it highly enough.
