View Full Details of Acorn Nursing HomeThe family were always made welcome and the staff were very friendly, helpful and supportive. My father was well cared for by all nursing and care staff, they showed him kindness and respect throughout his stay at Acorn Nursing Home.
My experience of this care home was not to be faulted. Our father was treated with the ultimate respect. He was cared for and treated throughout his time at Acorn Nursing Home with dignity. The staff were excellent, very caring, hospitable and welcoming creating a warming atmosphere and lovely cup of tea.
My father had resided at the home for a year or so. Throughout that time, whenever I visited, I found staff to be hospitable and friendly. The environment clean and sanitary. The residents all presented as being content and happy. In September 2023 my father celebrated his 90th birthday and the service facilitated birthday celebrations. Many family and friends attended and Acorn’s hosting was exemplary. My father’s own bedroom was always clean and my father was always supported well with his personal care and health needs. Visiting was never restricted and we were always made to feel welcome. Sadly my father passed away today and again the staff and management at Acorn supported the family sensitively and with great compassion. The dignity and respect shown to my father in his last hours and indeed throughout his time at Acorns was unwavering and we will forever be in their debt. Well done to all staff and management at Acorn and long may the outstanding work continue.
Apart from some clothes missing care was good, he had good meals staff are caring easy to park outside they tell you visitor's hours so overall good, had someone going in and doing puzzles with him their doctor was good if needed.
My mother was in Acorn Nursing Home for over twelve months. Although the staff at Acorn were very friendly and kind to my mother, the let down to Acorn is the manager. I think if they change the manager then Acorn would be a great home.
During his extended stay at Acorn Nursing Home he was looked after with the utmost respect and dignity. His room was always clean and I think he himself was cleaner than he ever had been. His hands had never been so soft and his nails were clean. The staff are patient, kind and caring.
Staff are all attentive, polite, helpful and considerate of my brother's needs. I take my hat off to all the staff for the humanity, care and consideration given to my brother. Bless them all.
It is very good and tidy and the staff are very good and clean, the games are good but I would like to go out a lot more.
I trust all staff and management in Acorn - all are so helpful, kind and considerate. Since the coronavirus, they all have helped me talk to my mum anytime day or night, and kept me informed about mums welfare and progress. I can contact the home anytime if I’m anxious about Mum, nothing is to much trouble. Acorn is an excellent home with top carers kitchen staff and management, who really care. I thank you all for the care you give everyone, thank you so very much. My mother has stayed at a number of care homes and Acorn is by far the very best in my opinion.
Mum was well treated with kindness, patience and compassion. We felt confident leaving mum in the care of the staff at Acorn. She was treated with dignity and respect and the team helped to make her life as comfortable as it could be. The staff at Acorn are always happy and cheerful. They look after visitors with drinks and snacks and have genuine empathy with residents and families.
I am so happy with this home. They are lovely with my Grandma. They go above and beyond what they should. The manager treats them like they are her kids.
The staff go above and beyond work. The home is very clean. They give my mam a bath every day. The food! Well it's fantastic. I have had all the food they cook. You can visit at any time. The manager loves all of them like her own children.
Every time I visit my wife she is relaxed and always has a member of staff with her. The staff are absolutely brilliant with all the patients.
On every visit, the staff have been very warm and welcoming. They are caring towards all residents and show real regard to each resident as an individual. They each have shown an understanding of my step-mother's needs and difficulties and have gone out of their way to support and assist her. I am very happy that she is here.
After caring for my partner at her own home for 6 years (she has dementia-picks disease), I was very emotional about letting her go into a nursing care home as I thought no one could care for her like I did. But I was finding caring for her more and more difficult. I need not have worried, as she has been at Acorn House for 18 months now and the care for her there is second to none. There is a real family atmosphere between the residents and staff. I visit every day. I would recommend this care home to anyone.
My mother-in-law has been a resident for three years and settled very well into the environment. The staff are always friendly and visits can be at any time. Evidence shows that the personal care well being and health of the residents are well taken care of. Meals provided are excellent and residents can do things at their own pace.
My brother received end of life care in Acorn for approximately 10months during which time he was treated with excellent care and respect by all staff. My impression of Acorn is it is friendly, caring and like home from home for the residents. My brother passed away two weeks ago and until the end, I could not fault Acorn and would like to thank them from the bottom of my heart.
