View Full Details of Laurel Bank Care HomeOn my first visit to Laurel Bank to assess whether my mother should move there from another care home I was impressed with the car park facility and the actual building of the care home. It's a purpose-built home unlike a lot of others I visited. Large bedrooms/toilet facilities etc. Large hallways/lounges/dining rooms. Clean everywhere. Friendly and courteous staff. Menus very varied.
I find the staff very helpful and welcoming. They always get back to me when requesting respite care for mum with available dates and try their best to accommodate requests. I feel mum is safe and well looked after whilst on respite which gives me a much needed break.
Laurel Bank Care Home has a warm and friendly welcoming when you first arrive, which makes you feel confident and relaxed when you know the staff here are looking after your mum, who you want the best care for. Mum is suffering from dementia bless her, so she gets very confused some days but all the staff are so lovely with her, reassuring her all the time. They always make her look nice for when any of her family go to visit her, which is every day. From the cleaners to the entertainment staff, it feels like one big family, which is what mum is used to. Her room is always lovely and clean so we are very happy mum is staying there. Thank you.
Mum seems to have settled well at Laurel Bank. She hasn't been there long but she seems to have settled well. All the staff are really good to her and try really hard to meet her needs.
My mum has been in the care of Laurel Bank since September and has settled well due to the friendly and caring staff both those who directly care for her and those that administer and organise. All staff have been supportive of Mum, myself, and the wider family during what could have been a difficult time for Mum. Whenever I have called in, the home is clean and tidy, friendly and helpful, attentive and professional. They all listen well and get creative to help make things happen. Their community connections are very helpful and lovely to see the range of daily activities to keep residents stimulated and interested in all that is going on. Thank you.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. The care of my Father is very good. Communication with the home/staff is good. The home needs refurbishing in communal areas and individual rooms but this is being addressed.
My stepmother has been in the care of Laurel Bank since January 2024 and from the beginning of her care has enjoyed continual professional care. We (my husband +1) are truly confident that my stepmother is receiving the best care possible. The transition from home to care was not easy for my stepmother, but at every turn, she was treated with great patience and respect. Now she is in her final weeks, everything is being done that can possibly be done. Laurel Bank and its staff have my total gratitude.
Laurel Bank greets everyone with a warm and friendly welcome. The manager of the home is excellent as are the deputy manager, care manager, and administrator giving time and commitment to help people whatever their needs, whilst remembering names and situations. All the staff employed in different roles contribute to the smooth running of the home by doing their best in a pleasant friendly way. The carers are wonderful in attending to the personal needs of the residents with patience, understanding, and care and their commitment to residents is to be recommended and is reassuring.
Laurel Bank has been looking after my Brother since 11.07.24. I find the care they have shown to my Brother to be outstanding. They are kind and caring, not just to my Brother but also to me his Sister, and my extended family. My Brother is settled and happy at Laurel Bank. He has made friends and feels safe.
My partner has been here since the 15th of July. I am very happy with everything and peace of mind knowing he is being cared for 24 hours a day. If they need me they ring me straight away. Keep up the good work.
Staff always friendly on arrival and good with keeping you informed on relatives' progress. Solutions are offered if any problems and always support if you need it. Home is always tidy and clean, reception always cheery and nicely decorated with patient artwork and crafting as the seasons and events pass.
My mother has been in Laurel Bank Care Home since February 2023. She is very well cared for, kept clean, warm, well fed and comfortable. We are very satisfied with the care she is receiving.
I feel my Mum has settled in very well. Her room is lovely and she can have her home comforts. The staff are lovely and welcoming an treat my Mum very well. My only issue would be getting in and out during hours when reception is not covered, you can be waiting quite a while. I understand staff are busy, are there any options for getting a code to enter?
I can only thank the staff for the care and attention they gave to my husband and also myself. They made me feel at home, I can't thank them enough. Thank you, everybody, for being kind and patient, love you all.
Mum has been here since february. Since moving to the ground floor, she seems to be a lot happier. Unfortunately, she will not venture out of her room unless I am taking her out, therefore cannot really comment on the activities. The only slight negative comment I have is trying to access the premises at night. I have sometimes been stood there a very long time, trying to get in and my daughter once left having failed to get in at all. Other than this, we are very happy with the care provided for Mum.
My mum came into Laurel Bank Care Home, for end of life care, following a period in hospital, from a previous care home. From the moment she entered Laurel Bank on her 89th birthday when they put banners up and made a cake for her arrival, she received excellent service from caring and nursing staff. As her daughter I was told to think of the home as my extended home as well. My mum’s time at Laurel Bank was very short, she only lived for a week after her birthday but in that time she was treated with dignity, respect and care. With her passing staff treated me the same with care and love. The ethos of care shines through. I can only thank you all from the bottom of my heart, and only wish my mum had come to live at Laurel Bank sooner and also for longer. Many thanks, keep doing what you are doing as it is something really special in care.
Your care and consideration for my husband are exceptional. My daughter and others have found them extremely welcoming. I cannot find fault to the hardworking staff there. The meals are wonderful.
This review is for the Halloween party. A welcoming and joyful afternoon. The staff worked hard to ensure all residents were involved and looked after. The singer was great with a wide variety of songs. She mingled with the residents and encouraged interaction. Food was plentiful with a variety of refreshments on offer. Well done for a fun afternoon. My only concern was that if l hadn't turned up, my mother wouldn't have attended. I was told she said she didn't want to go but my mother isn't capable of making decisions and she was totally compliant about going when l arrived. It would have been a shame if she had missed out, especially as she enjoyed it in her own way.
Laurel Bank has literally saved me from months of sleepless nights and stress, my dad has settled into his new home with ease all due to the staff who all go above and beyond for all the residents in their care (I see this on a daily basis). Due to Alzheimer's, my dad couldn't stay at home but he has found a second home with Laurel Bank.
The care of staff are excellent. I hope for more days like last Saturday everyone enjoying themselves music was excellent. The staff as usual gave 100% in care and compassion. I would like to help with any activities that you hold at Laurel Bank Nursing Home.
