View Full Details of Lister HouseI am satisfied with the level of care my Mother is receiving. She is always treated with dignity, and all her needs are met, and I am kept informed of any changes or problems arising. There is a very low turnover of staff, so my Mother is well known by everyone, and she can relate to them confidently of any distress or problem, and having consistent nursing care makes such a difference to the quality of her life.
The care my husband has received at Lister House nursing home has been excellent. All the staff treat the residents with dignity and care. I am given regular updates in regard to his wellbeing. Staff always make time to answer any questions I have. Lister House is a lovely atmosphere as soon as you walk through the door!
We are so grateful for the exceptional care Dad has received at Lister House nursing home, from Dad's arrival we were instantly put at ease by the manager and her team. The staff are compassionate and attentive, treating residents with dignity. The team have taken their time to understand Dad's needs, preferences and routines. Dad is engaged and the care he is receiving has greatly improved his well being. Communication is great with frequent updates being provided. We would wholeheartedly recommend Lister House.
Mum resided at Lister House for a couple of years. Throughout her stay, we found the staff treated her with kindness and dignity. She always enjoyed her meals and the many activities held there. She particularly enjoyed the banter she shared with some of the staff. There were never had any issues with her care and even though she was small and frail, she never had any issues with bed sores. She was always clean, had a hairdresser and chiropody monthly and her room was kept spotless. The only downside to her staying there was the laundry as her clothes had a tendency to look as if they had been 'boiled washed'. Hopefully, that is something Lister House could rectify for other clients residing there. Mum passed away a week after her 101st birthday and the staff were so kind to us and allowed us to stay in her last few hours. They treated Mum with great respect and kept her comfortable and ensured she remained pain-free and peaceful. We are very grateful. Thank you.
I find from the outset of visiting Lister House that the staff are very professional and courteous to me and the needs of my mother. On the occasion my mother has been to hospital with the carer, the hospital staff have been complimentary of her escort through A&E and Xrays and escort back to the home. My mother's needs are met, even down to her dietary needs.

If there are any problems, they contact the doctor and ring us to tell us. We are pleased that the facility for the bath is very good.

Having moved my mother from a nursing home I considered poor, it was pleasing to find a home with high standards. Since moving in she has been treated with respect and understanding. Management is on the ball with attention to detail. The staff are experienced and I'm confident everything is being done to meet her needs. Although mother has complex needs and understanding I'm happy she is being cared for as best she can be.
My dad had three weeks outstanding care. Before he died the staff were very kind and supportive. He was kept clean and comfortable. The staff communicated well with any telephone calls I made or visits. They do a good service.

My lovely mum has been with Lister House for nearly four years, and since she went in for respite care, she has stayed happily and feels very at home. The staff are very professional and caring, and nothing is too much trouble. When I visit, Mum is always happy and smiling. She always has her hair done and her favourite jewellery on. The staff are always smiling, even when under pressure, and if I have any questions, they are always answered honestly. They've helped me through some difficult times. Thank you.
My father was needing somewhere urgently, Lister House was offered, and he was there for a couple of weeks - then went to an assessment centre for six weeks and was then taken back to Lister House. The staff are amazing. They are so caring, friendly and welcoming whilst also being very professional. Dad has been hard for them at times, but they always have good things to say about him.
I can't say any more than that I am totally satisfied.
Helpful staff. Friendly atmosphere.
Since arriving at Lister House my mom has been very happy. The staff are great. Thank you all.
My husband was a resident from April to October when he passed away. He suffered 2 strokes in February and was left paralysed on the right side and unable to speak or swallow. Because of Covid-19 I was unable to see him until July 20th and 27th then nothing until October 2nd. The staff were wonderful making sure I spoke with him by phone. My son and I spent two full days with him before sadly he passed away on October 6th. Nothing was too much trouble. They were so kind to him and us. They are very kind people.
My mother went to Lister House last September for respite. It soon became apparent that she could not live independently again and decided to stay. She made Lister House her home, and the wonderful staff became her extended family. I recall the manager once saying to me that all the staff felt that the residents were like family; to hear that was comforting for myself and my brother. Mums room was on the ground floor with views over an enclosed courtyard. She was able to bring her own furniture and several treasured possessions, making anyone who visited feel that this was her home. Sadly with Covid, we were unable to visit for several months, but regular video calls were made which must have been time-consuming and somewhat trying for the staff, but they rallied on even though mum really didn't understand what was going on! I cannot thank the manager and her staff enough. They made mums last months safe and entertaining. Mum died in July and will be missed by us all. Thank you.
I was able to go on holiday and enjoy it knowing that my mum was safe and cared for with lovely and qualified staff.
I go to Lister House every Saturday and the main door is always locked, which is a good thing. Some weeks it takes a while for the staff to answer which is not a bad thing as I would rather the clients be safe. The staff and nurse are always polite and if I need anything, they sort it out as soon as they can.
