View Full Details of Owlett HallMum has been at Owlett Hall since May 2024. Overall, our experience has been excellent. Staff are welcoming from reception, management, care staff, kitchen staff etc, all make you feel at home. Any issues are taken seriously and looked into promptly. Any issues are taken seriously and looked into promptly. Many staff go above and beyond for residents. The only negative thing I can say is that the laundry is a bit of an issue with regards to clothes going missing (even named ones) so I now take Mum's washing home and do it myself.
All in all a very nice, clean care home. Management attentive but as in any occupations some carers more aware of a patients needs than others. It's a shame the names of staff that completely stand out for excellent are not allowed to be used as quite a few go above and beyond for Mum.
Overall I am very happy with the standard of care provided to Mum. She is well looked after and I must especially commend one of Mum's carers in particular. She always engages with me and my sister when we visit and provides updates on Mum's well being. In fact, she goes above and beyond by updating us via personal messages, when needed. We see Mum almost every day, which enables a fair judgement to be made. The home is kept spotlessly clean and the standard of food always seems to be first class. Numerous activities are provided, although Mum is not always keen to readily engage but at least there is the option to do so. The home had to recently have a relatively short lock down to control a flu outbreak. The communication in keeping us informed both by email and telephone was excellent. We have had a couple of concerns in respect of Mum's room, which have been dealt with. This related, in the main, to temperature control but it now seems to have been rectified.
Looked after my grandad in his last weeks. Nothing short of amazing. Couldn't be more grateful for all the support they showed, to us all. Nothing was too much, and communication and care was superb. I've seen a few nursing and care homes in my time. This is the best yet.
My grandad moved into Owlett Hall for end-of-life care, he was cared for with dignity and respect and every member of staff I came across was lovely and couldn't do enough for us, the carers the nurses the admin staff were all amazing. I am so grateful that the last few weeks of my grandad's life were spent being looked after. It can be a scary/overwhelming choice choosing a care home but I am so glad we found Owlett Hall.
My Step Dad came to Owlett Hall after a terminal cancer diagnosis in November 24. I cannot thank the staff enough for all they did for him. Every member of staff that I or my family encountered during the time were kind, caring, and respectful and nothing was ever too much trouble, there was always someone on hand to listen and reassure. You deserve an outstanding rating Owlet Hall! I cannot thank you enough.
My mum moved here a few months ago and has settled well and well looked after. Staff look after my mum very well. She is thriving since she moved here and I couldn't be happier with the staff and management.
My husband seems to have settled in and the staff are very kind and patient. Owlett Hall has a very nice feel to it. I would recommend it to anyone.
Mum had a very unpleasant 6 weeks here before we were able to move her elsewhere. Mum is a high falls risk and had a fall in the first week of being there while walking down the corridor with 2 carers and a nurse. Mum was hit in the face by another resident who had a one-to-one carer and was supposed to be supervised! resulting in knocking mum's glasses off her face and giving her a black eye! The personal hygiene care mum received was poor, she looked grubby, her hair was not washed and dirty fingernails. Hot food was served cold, and plastic beaker cups had broken handles with sharp edges! Bed linen was dirty and stained, poor laundry service, and several items of mum's clothes went missing and couldn’t be found before we left. I would seriously reconsider if you are thinking of moving a loved one here.
I love being here. I'm well looked after and happy.
I have found up to date that everyone is very helpful and friendly. When I'm here, I feel welcomed and able to ask questions. I'm always updated on my mum every time I come to see my mum or call. My mum has only been here since 27/12/23, but so far, I'm very happy with everything everyone does for my mum. Thank you. My only concern is my mum's pain is not calming!
All in all, I found the home to be ok. Issues with things going missing "laundry". Staff very friendly and efficient, management is easy to talk to. All issues raised were dealt with to my satisfaction.
Good care home.
I find the staff at Owlett Hall to be friendly and caring, and most importantly, attentive to my granny's needs! They ensure she feels content and happy at all times, providing care at a very perfect level. She is kept warm and fed. I am very grateful for the service they provide.
My family and I are very happy with the care my husband receives. The home is very well run and managed. The staff are professional and very caring and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble, and any queries are dealt with. Everything is done to keep my husband well and healthy. He is always clean. He enjoys the food. He enjoys the activities, and there are many to keep the residents occupied and happy.
Friendly staff, normally always happy to help with any concerns. Telephone contact is poor when ringing in - don't always answer, have to ring multiple times. Otherwise, room is clean. Father is usually comfortable and clean. Care needs are met. Specialist palliative care team supporting home with specific care needs and updating us when appropriate.
My father-in-law was in Owlett Hall following a terminal cancer diagnosis. My wife and I would like to place on record our sincere thanks to every member of staff at the home for the care given to him. The standard of care was exemplary. Everything at the home was of the highest standard. The food was excellent, well-presented and cooked to a very high standard. Staff were polite, caring, professional, well presented and could not do enough for my relative or ourselves. The entire home was spotless and clean and was the nicest-smelling care home I have ever been into. I have worked in the care industry myself and I have got to say I could not find fault or criticise Owlett Hall in any way. My wife and I would recommend Owlett Hall to anyone.
The staff are caring humorous and hard working. They establish good relations with the residents. Everywhere appears clean and well-organised. The management has changed a few times recently but now seems very efficient and forward-thinking. Resident's and relative's views are sought and acted upon/valued. Overall the experience for my mum is very good.
My sister has been in the home since March 2023. Carers are good but when she was taken to hospital I didn't get to know the outcome and did ask several times - not good. Also her things keep going missing like socks and other clothing, also her false teeth which have never turned up so very hard for her to eat which she really has a problem with. Also her eyes since she has been in the home - cannot read which she likes to do because she cannot see properly. Also just recently her TV remote has gone missing so now she cannot even watch TV. I was told sorting her eyes, hearing and teeth is being done but as yet no one has told me anything about when or if.
I would like to say that my husband could not get any better care than he is getting. All the staff are first class here. I can go home and know that he is getting the best care and being looked after. The staff are all friendly and very easy to talk to.
