View Full Details of Park House Nursing HomeMy husband is well cared for and always seems content when I visit. As well as other activities there is a chair based keep fit class on a Thursday and along with other residents he enjoys this. The staff at the home are brilliant and always friendly to residents and visitors. The laundry staff do an amazing job and non of his clothes have gone missing. Applause to the cooks as well the food is freshly prepared and looks very appetising. All in all I would highly recommend the home is always clean thank you cleaners and the gardens are lovely especially in the summer.
Mum moved into Park House at the end of October 2024. Initially we were concerned how she would adapt to life in a Nursing home but staff were so friendly and welcoming that Mum soon settled in. She is well looked after and her individual medical needs are being catered for. When visiting Mum staff are always friendly and welcoming and usually give us an update on how she is doing. Park House is a safe and secure environment in a peaceful location.
Set in lovely woodland grounds with safe secure environment. A good range of services and facilities. The staff are very approachable, respectful and have great empathy with those in their care. The communication between the home and ourselves is very good and keeps us informed.
My husband lived at Park House Nursing Home for 10 years following a massive stroke. He was well looked after for this whole time getting all the care and attention he needed. He was for most of this time totally reliant on the staff for all his needs, which were all met perfectly. I visited twice a day until the Covid pandemic and knew he was getting well looked after during my absence. The whole team cared about him and the rest of the residents so much. I was always made welcome by everyone especially in the latter years, I class most of the staff as friends and keep in constant touch with some of them. I would recommend Park House to anyone wanting a homely, caring environment for their loved ones.
The staff and quality of care provided to my elderly aunt with dementia is excellent. I would recommend the home without hesitation. She is treated with care and compassion. Communication is good, I am kept fully informed at all times.
My dad was struggling at home due to dementia and declining health. I was recommended Park House by a friend who worked in health and heard it had good reviews. After a visit dad was transferred and after a rocky start settled in. The staff are very caring and supportive of my dad's needs as he has fluctuating intellectual ability and is often confused. He receives personal centred care, meals are nutritious with a choice to eat in the dining room or his own room. He always looks cared for and clean and enjoys the entertainment provided in the conservatory. I feel reassured my dad is in Park House as I know he is fed, cared for and safe.
Park House is a fabulous care home. They provide an excellent care service and have great communications with relatives, providing regular updates on status and wellness of residents. The home itself is clean, comfortable and welcoming. The staff at Park House are a vey dedicated team and provide great round the clock care for their residents. Unable to provide feedback on food as dad is on a PEG feed.
Really nice, friendly care home, all the staff are lovely. I would highly recommend to anyone.
Mum has lived at Park House Nursing Home for three years since her health deteriorated. She is happy and settled there and is well looked after and loved. She needs a higher level of nursing care and her personal needs are met with dignity, care and sensitivity. Mum has vascular dementia and is unable to get out of bed. The staff tend to all of her needs, including feeding her and assisting her to drink, all the time maintaining her dignity and chatting to her about things from her past to engage her where possible. Mum has favourite staff members who can raise a smile and the occasional word which means so much. The GP practice who look after the residents is really responsive to Mum's needs.
Very helpful with my mum's care! Mum liked it there. The staff were very friendly with my mum and great with my dad who went to see her every day. The food was very good and they were more than willing to give her anything she wanted.
Following a week's respite Mum didn't want to leave and was happy to stay a bit longer which became permanent! The staff were very accommodating making her feel welcome and comfortable. The language barrier wasn't an issue as we feared, her English improved as she grew confident. The premises were clean and never had an odour as you experience elsewhere. The premises itself is an old building but generally well maintained, the old lift had started to play up lately but the staff ensured the residents were well cared for and very regularly checked upon. It was pleasing to see Mum taking part in the activities arranged by the care team. Flexibility for the family to visit anytime was never a problem and also to take mum out for the day. From the laundry service to the catering, all was good. Access to medical support and nurses was super. The grounds & gardens are all well-maintained and very pleasant. Great place for Mum to spend her last days in total happiness. Will always be thankful
My experience of Park House was faultless, all staff were amazing. They were very welcoming when my family visited. The home was very clean and always very fresh smelling. They were very caring, informative, and compassionate, and reacted very quickly to any changes in my dad. Care staff were second to none, and do at times have difficult jobs to do but do it professionally. The food was very good and always a selection. Thank you very much for all you did, I would highly recommend Park House. Thanks again.
We selected Park House for Mum, on the recommendation of a friend whose father had been a recent resident. We very quickly realised what a good decision that had been. Mum received the very best care from all at the home, the staff treated her with love, respect and compassion and she thrived in the homely environment, particularly in the conservatory lounge area. The nursing care was exemplary and the personal support she received in her room, was carried out in an efficient and professional manner, with the utmost care and consideration. The home-cooked food was top quality and nutritious and the meals adapted to Mum's changing requirements. We have only good memories of Mum's time at Park House, something for which the family will be forever grateful. Thank you again.
Resident always appears well-dressed, clean and tidy. Due to the patient's dementia, it is difficult to know when she is talking or tied or living in the past or is just confused. I have always found the staff polite and helpful.
I knew that Park House were fabulous as my friend's father-in-law had received palliative care there. However, the staff far exceeded my expectations. It was lovely to be able to prepare the room in advance of my friend's arrival (including a 6ft Christmas tree) so that he had familiar things around him. It was also fabulous to be able to visit whenever I wanted. As a result I popped in twice a day on the way home from work. My friend spent his last days feeling loved and cared for and was allowed to die on his own terms and with dignity. For that I will be forever grateful.
Park House in Queensbury is a small Nursing home with a personal touch, which is why I choose to send my mum there for respite. The management is extremely approachable, helpful and understanding. The staff are professional and friendly taking care of my mum's needs all the time.
Mum, has lived at Park House for 1 year and 2 months. The warmth, friendliness, caring nature and obvious teamwork, were evident on day 1. The setting is idyllic, yes a little tired decor-wise, but glitz and glam are not our priority. Mum has Hydrocephalus and severe Cerebral Atrophy. She understands, otherwise is totally dependent. Care staff love her, it is clear in the way they speak with her. All personal care is handled individually and with dignity. Life is managed well, clothes labelled, Mum always well presented, clean and tidy. Hairdresser, Podiatrist, Optician, GP visit and very supportive. Art, craft, and exercise weekly. Nursing care is exemplary. Food is fresh daily, for all individual needs. Park House has been going through a transition. However, the old and new owners have been patient, listened and supportive, throughout the home transition and Mum's coinciding and changing health needs. We have also had an ongoing legal situation. We receive care, sensitivity and kindness in all matters. Thank you.
My auntie has been very well cared for over the three years she has resided at Park House. She has deteriorated lately in her health and changes to her care have been dealt with sensitively. She continues to be made as comfortable as possible. I have never had any issue.
I have looked after my wife at home for the past 7 years but following a significant deterioration, my wife was admitted to Park House Nursing Home in February 2023. Obviously, this was a very worrying time for us but from the outset, the nursing care has been excellent, involving GPs and other specialists as needed, while this is paramount so is the personal and mental care where all the staff take a personal interest in her life and family. They really go 'that' extra mile. As a team they all work very well together, led by the owners who are hands-on encouraging and motivating. It really does feel like home-you can't put a price on that.
From the moment I stepped into Park House I have always found it to be a very welcoming home by all staff. The home may be a little dated but exceptionally clean, warm and safe environment for their residents. My mum has been in Park House now for 2 years, she suffers from Huntingdon disease and I feel her needs are met with the utmost respect, care and kindness. Any worries or problems have been answered and dealt with correctly and immediately. I find that Mum is always very clean and tidy, her hair done and matching clothes. This is very important as in other homes she has been dirty and other people's clothes on.
