My stepdad has been placed here from hospital and we couldn’t be happier. He has only been here since Saturday and I have seen such an improvement. The staff are so welcoming and can’t do enough to help and ease our concerns. They are so caring and it’s great to see such happy staff. Such a clean, welcoming home where nothing is too much bother. Highly recommended.
Pleased to see Mum happily enjoying a game of 'eye spy' along with other residents and all staff present. The atmosphere in the lounge was joyful. Mum looked well dressed and she had recently visited the hair salon.
My husband went to Holme House for a respite stay and the staff were wonderful with him. He has lots of difficulties but nothing was too much trouble. He enjoyed his time there and I wouldn’t hesitate to use Holme House again.
My uncle has been at Holme House for 12 months, he settled in really well, and not long after my auntie followed and they're both really happy. The staff are all friendly and can't do enough for the residents. The activities provided are fantastic and the activities staff go above and beyond for the residents. I myself haven't been there at mealtimes but my uncle says the meals are faultless. The manager is fantastic, very helpful, approachable, welcoming and friendly. Me and my family are happy that both Auntie and Uncle are really happy being there. Thank you to all.
My sister has been a resident of this care home for approximately 18 months. I bless the day she was admitted there. I live quite a distance away, but I am confident she is being well cared for, and this gives me peace of mind. The wonderful caring team, all patients and residents are looked after. All are clean, and the food is good. Weekly activities, music and television are available for residents to participate in. My sister has a lovely, decorated, bright room surrounded by her personal belongings. Thank you all so very much.
My mum moved here for temporary care following a fall and liked it so much she decided to stay. The staff are lovely and treat the residents with dignity. They are also welcoming to visitors. The chefs go above and beyond to provide meals for specific needs.
It’s a lovely warm, happy and inviting care home. It’s clean and the staff are helpful and caring. The food is very good and they will accommodate requests. The Clinical Lead Nurse is especially good and nothing is too much trouble. He doesn’t hide in his office. He sits in the day room doing his paperwork whilst jollying everyone along.
The carers and senior carers all work very hard and are always willing to discuss my mum's care on the nursing floor. They genuinely do care and always try to encourage her when carrying out any aspect of her personal care. They work very well as a team and liaise well with the nurses. The nurses work professionally and are very good at identifying any medical issues and acting upon them promptly and efficiently. The home has a settled management team who are very approachable and efficient.
Visitors are made to feel welcome and are able to visit at any time. Residents seem happy and staff are caring and helpful. The staff get to know the residents well and are aware of their preferences and treat them with respect.
My mum has been cared for here for 8 years, first in residential care and more recently nursing care. Her care has been mainly good, especially since she's needed nursing. The carers and nurses are very kind and understand Mum's needs. We visit regularly and are always made welcome and can express our concerns and also our thanks to the staff and management. Mum has become more frail recently and her dementia has worsened, but the carers here are very kind and treat Mum with dignity and understanding. I feel I can trust the nurses and carers to keep Mum safe at this difficult time.
My mum has been with Holme House for 2 and a half years she is very well cared for the staff are lovely and very supportive of my mum's needs and my needs too the food is good the activities are good. I know my mum is safe and see her as often as I am able but know that I can phone anytime for an update if I am unable to visit.

My granddad has recently been in Holme House for some respite care falling a fall at home and I can simply say they did an amazing job! They welcomed him with open arms and cared for him so amazingly, that my granddad actually cried when he left. The staff were so kind and caring. The management team were always on hand. Thank you so much!
I never thought I'd have to add a review like this. My father who was terminally ill was a resident for 3 weeks. On the first day I visited my father there was a pool of fluid from the catheter bag all over the floor and only after getting 4 different carers was it mopped up. I complained but 3 weeks later the issue of the catheter bag which was still left on the floor was never rectified. Throughout his stay, I found many things unsatisfactory but none were ever addressed. Here are just a few. The wrong name was put on his room door. Dressed in someone else's top when I arrived to visit. The sink plug not open and the sink overflowing on at least 3 occasions. Dementia patients wander in and out of his room taking things. Never registered on care home computer for 3 full weeks. If you call this quality care then God help you. I lost my father 3 weeks in and will regret ever leaving him.
My Mother passed away at Holme House on 31st January 2020 at the age of 91. The care she received could not be faulted. She had Alzheimer's and her behaviour could be challenging but the staff were always very professional and caring. The carers actually care about the residents and there was always enough of them on duty to work efficiently. I would like to thank everyone who works there and wish them well for the future. In due course I would like to plant a rose bush in their garden in memory of my Mother - she would have liked that. Lots of love.
