View Full Details of Longwood Grange Care HomeMy mother has been a resident for 5 months now. The staff are very caring, and supportive and go above and beyond o show respect and compassion to the residents. They are truly an asset to the home! Rooms are clean and well presented and feel very homely and the home as a whole feels very secure with a pleasant atmosphere. The manager is very visible, approachable and helpful and he too seems to truly care about the resident's wellbeing. Keep up the good work!
Welcoming environment with people who care about their roles within the care home looking after the residents. The staff keep you fully up to date with my loved one. The resident's drinking cups and water jugs could do with reviewing as some are stained, but other than that it's good.
Everything here is excellent. Staff, cleaners and nurses, all excellent.
My mother is a resident of Longwood Grange Care Home. The staff put on a really great Halloween party today. Staff and residents dressed up, a fantastic singer had everyone singing along and the party food was lovely.
Wife settled in very well. Mobility has improved. Staff treat her very well. Kept up to date with how she is. Plenty of cups of tea and biscuits.
My stepfather, a resident for 2 months this year, following a long hospital stay. Although the care provided by the day to day carers is okay, there were many issues that caused our family a lot of concern, and we moved him to a different home as soon as possible. My stepfather is now a resident at a lovely home. The management team here are poor at communicating, and do not seem to care about residents. They are also difficult to speak to. Issues such as my stepfather not settling at night and having falls only came to light when another care home came to discuss his needs with the supervisors, and these were then denied. Valuable items went missing and were never found, with no concern at all from the supervisors. I formally complained, the investigation by the home manager and then regional director found in their favour. My complaints were dismissed as being "inconclusive" or "denied". To avoid the upset and distress my stepfather and his family had here, please avoid Longwood Grange.
Having my mum have her 90th Birthday and a member of the family be able to visit and hold the event in a quiet area has made things very good. Something the care home needs to let other relatives know if wanting a more personal 'party'. This along with the day-to-day care my mum gets is keeping her well.
My dad came to live at Longwood Grange Care Home in May this year. From day one the care he received was exceptional. He was kept clean and had very healthy meals. His room was amazing. The manager kept me informed with anything to do with Dad. The home was welcoming, clean and had daily entertainment. The staff always welcomed me and my family with a smile and nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend Longwood Grange. Dad had 14 happy weeks there before he passed away.
Respite care was arranged through Kirklees and then directly with the manager. Given a chance to view the home before admission. The home lent us a wheelchair to make the journey there easier. On arrival my husband was shown his room and was given a welcome pack. All the staff introduced themselves. My husband was introduced to another resident. The cook asked about his food preferences. Leaving him was difficult but the staff made this as easy as they could. There were no visiting restrictions and I was offered the chance to have a meal with him. Each day there were activities and the Euros were shown on TV. I felt reassured he was in good hands and he looked well when I visited. When he left, the staff packed his things. He had enjoyed his time there but was pleased to be coming home.
The management and staff were excellent when my husband stayed for respite for 2 weeks, they cared for him very well and my hubby and didn't want him to leave. The place is clean and tidy and comfortable am hoping that I can send him there again. It's the best home I have found for the hubby for respite, others haven't looked after him properly, other homes haven't looked after him right. It is hard to find a good home for care and I have found one when I need respite again, they have a bed for him. Thank you Longwood Grange for the excellent care to my husband.
Longwood Grange looked after my Dad wonderfully. He was confused at first but was treated and looked after very well. When his health deteriorated his care was altered accordingly and once again he was looked after well by the wonderful staff. The staff say he was 'one of their favourites' but I think lots of the residents are that to many staff. Thank you.
The management and staff at Longwood Grange, Huddersfield are excellent. Very caring and attentive to the residents of which my wife is one. The residence is clean and tidy, bedrooms are clean and comfortable. Comfortable as well. No odour. The food is good and varied. I have sampled it myself, there are many varied activities and visits from local organisations outside visits are also arranged when weather permits. I have no concerns knowing my wife is well looked after. Praise to all.
The staff at Longwood Grange looked after my dad with respect, care and compassion. His every need was tended to with dedication and support. My family and I were always made very welcome and I was always kept updated about medical issues. The lounge was a lovely environment for the residents to spend their daytime hours with lots of activities for those able to take part in. My dad passed away in March with dignity and much love from all staff. I highly recommend Longwood Grange as excellent.
I would just like to take this opportunity to thank you and all the rest of the team for the exemplary level of care you provided during my dad’s stay with you and for ensuring he had the best possible care. It is clear that you and the rest of your team strive tirelessly to provide the highest possible standards of care in a safe, warm, clean and welcoming environment to make sure every resident is cared for in the best possible way. I feel that all my dad’s needs were met to the highest possible standards, medically, nutritionally, dignity and well-being. He never appeared dishevelled, unclean, or unshaven his clothes were always clean too no food stains on them. His legs were dressed regularly to ensure he wasn’t in discomfort. Your enduring stewardship in defending both residents and relatives from unwelcome pressures especially rises in fees is also remarkable and is truly a demonstration of your outstanding commitment to the well-being and safe care of your residents.
Mum arrived mid-June and after a couple of hiccups settled in well. The staff are all very professional, courteous, and patient with all the residents in my experience. The care home manager gives me regular updates on how Mum is doing. I have no hesitation in recommending Longwood Grange to anyone who has a family member needing residential care.
Nice and friendly place, always welcoming. My father is always happy.
We are really happy with the care Mum gets. She can be difficult but the staff treat her with respect and patience. She has now been with them for 22 months and looks healthy. The home saved her life when she first got there she was so underweight.
Overall my brother and I are pleased with the care our mother receives. There are times when I feel a little bit more could be done regarding hygiene. On a few occasions, her fingernails are not clean and feel this is a job for the carers when they wash and dress her each morning. There are times when the carers aren't paying attention in the main lounge and residents are needing the toilet. I understand being a carer must be a really hard job and tiring but the customer should come first.
My husband came into Longwood Grange for a short period of respite. Everyone in the care home treated him with the utmost kindness and friendliness which made his stay a pleasant experience. Nothing was too much trouble and every request made was actioned speedily.
Our mum has just joined Longwood Grange and it's fair to say we, as a family were all very fearful of her entering into a care system. Along with the expected guilt we have also been very wary of how she would settle in. It's very early days, however, we are so over the moon with everything. The care she has received is exceptional and everyone we have dealt with has been lovely. So nice to see her up and dressed. Also, a massive relief to be able to go to bed on a night not wondering if she would fall or if we would have to be calling for an ambulance. Now we know her every need is being taken care of. Thank you, to your team for putting our minds at rest and taking such good care of our mum.
