View Full Details of Roberttown Care Home LtdAs a family we have been pleased with the care our mother has received at Roberttown Care Home.
My mom has been a resident at Roberttown Care Home since December 2023. She was admitted as she was becoming unsafe in her home environment. She is only just starting to settle after quite a few challenging months. She does suffer from anxiety as well as dementia and hearing loss and has always liked her independence. The staff have dealt with her anxiety outbursts in a calm and positive way. They have shown great kindness and take her out for walks to distract her or engage her in conversation. She looks forward to her meals each day and looks much more presentable than she did at home. I cannot fault the care given to Mom by all the staff.
Our client received respite care while his wife enjoyed a well earned break. He really enjoyed his time in the home telling me the staff were all really friendly and caring, he had a nice view from his room across the valley and he really enjoyed the food and said he would definitely go back for further respite stays.
The manager and his team are amazing. The staff couldn’t do enough for Mum, and she thrived whilst she was in the care home. The food was first class with lots of choices. She enjoyed the activities and particularly enjoyed having her hair and nails done. Mum regarded it as home-from-home and loved her time in the lounge chatting with the other residents. They even welcomed my small dog, who loved visiting. Thank you to everyone at the care home for the fantastic service.
My father-in-law was really struggling at home and in urgent need of twenty-four hour care. We looked at a few different homes, but were struck by how welcoming and well organised the staff were at Roberttown. My father-in-law was immediately made to feel welcome and, from the first day, we felt as though a huge weight had been lifted, knowing he was being well looked after by caring staff. He was quite reluctant to go in, because of previous experience elsewhere, but he soon settled in. He has now been in three weeks and he admits the staff are all lovely. Whenever he is upset about anything, they are so patient and work with him to overcome his problems. He is very old and wants to stay in bed all day, which isn't good for him, so the staff have their hands full just getting him out of bed without a lot of complaining from him! We can visit anytime and we are made to feel so welcome whenever we go, this means a lot to us. Thank you.
When we needed them in an emergency, Roberttown Care Home came to our rescue. They've helped us arrange emergency respite for our dear client, whilst we focused on getting his wife better. The staff were amazing, chatting to him and making him feel calm and relaxed. Each day we've been updated on how he is settling and feel more than reassured he's in good hands. Staff instantly helped us feel reassured they were able to support him, especially as he's nonverbal. The senior staff helped him settle and even got his favourite snacks to help him feel more at home. Such compassion and empathy was clearly shown by everyone we saw. Lovely little home and fabulous staff.
My mother has been a resident at Roberttown Care Home for more than 2 years. I do not live nearby, I have peace of mind knowing my mother is safe and well looked after at Roberttown. When I visit all the staff I come into contact with are welcoming. There are activities organised for residents to join in with if they wish. The staff always have time to answer any questions I may have and they let me know of any changes in my mothers health by phone or email.
Our mum was struggling at home with Dementia it became evident she could no longer stay in her own home. In the middle of Covid lockdowns, viewing care homes was out of the question. From our first conversation with the manager at Roberttown, we knew this was the right place for our lovely mum. The manager was welcoming, honest and compassionate. Mum was looked after by a team of people who cared for her needs. The staff were friendly and caring, and the interaction between them and Mum was funny and loving. As Mum's illness progressed, the team dealt with her behaviour in a very professional and caring way. The manager is outstanding and a real credit to the company, and the team she has surrounded herself with is professional, caring and worth their weight in gold. Would I recommend Roberttown? The manager in charge (not allowed to say her name, but she knows who she is), of course, I would. Thank you for caring for our mum in her final days... all of you.
Mum was having renovation work which happened at the last minute. The care home had a spare room so mum stayed for two weeks. She has unspecified dementia and a strong personality. She enjoyed her stay and the staff recognised and challenged her bad temper at times. Mum did enjoy her time and enjoyed being with the staff and having her meals with the other people.
My grandma has been shown nothing but care, respect and dignity during her short stay at Roberttown care home. I witnessed carers on duty knocking on doors before entering and talking my grandma through everything (moving/repositioning) before they did it which helped her relax. All of the care staff and management really do have the resident's best interests at heart and it clearly shows. After a lengthy two-month stay in hospital without a bath or a shower..the care team showered her the very next morning. I'd especially like to thank the senior carer and home manager who went above and beyond this weekend to support me with a difficult situation that they quickly resolved! Communication from the management team have been excellent. The food was presented well and the portion size were more than enough for her. She says the food tasted home-cooked and was lovely. As a family, we can not thank you enough for all of your help. The care staff are a credit to this home.
The manager has been excellent to deal with throughout this experience from initial visits to the home for us to assess its credentials to visiting my mum to carry out an analysis of her needs, and right through to today when my mum entered the home, I cannot speak more highly of the care home the process to get Mum here to date. The ratings provided are based on our initial assessment as Mum has only been there 24 hours it impossible to provide any view on the services moving forward.
A home run by a care home manager who is genuinely passionate about the residents and the delivery of care. This approach is seen also with the staff who deliver the care needed to the best of their ability, despite the extreme difficulties faced throughout the covid pandemic. Covid procedures were strict, which was reassuring with tests carried out on visitors on every occasion, prior to entry. All in all, more than happy.
In the "Top Tips for Writing a Review" it states not to mention any allegations of neglect - Not really much I can say then! All I would say is, if you care anything for the person you are considering taking to this place, then DON'T do it! *Impatient Staff *Incompetent Staff *Untrained Staff *Unhygienic/scruffy / poorly maintained setting. It was supposed to be a two-week respite and my father was removed from this place after two days with a UTI and a fractured pelvis. I could write a lot more and especially about individuals, who actually need singling out, but in the Top Tips it states that I can't, but they know who they are and they need to be removed. I will also be taking this further with the Head Office of Advinia and CQC because how this place gets a "Good" makes a mockery of the whole rating process.
My father lived in Roberttown for four years until his death in June this year. Roberttown is a lovely, homely place, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is always calm and welcoming. Dad really got involved with activities and particularly enjoyed anything related to singing/dancing; he was very happy there and extremely well cared for in every way. The meals always smelled delicious too. The manager and the team are first class.
We have used Roberttown Care Home for respite care for my mum twice now, mum and myself have felt the care and support from all the friendly caring staff absolutely fantastic. My mum felt happy and relaxed and very well looked after her stay. Many thanks to everyone at Robert town care home.
Putting a loved one into the care system is always a worry for a family, especially when Mum initially found it difficult to settle. With the care and compassion shown by the management team, staff and family, she has settled well into her routine. Any slight problems identified by either the staff or us as a family are resolved promptly.
My mum has been in Roberttown Care Home now for over four years. Unfortunately over the last two weeks she has had a rapid deterioration in her condition which has been very distressing for the whole family. During this time we have been visiting regularly, but as well as this I have been getting twice daily updates both via email and by telephone from the care home manager which has been very comforting for us. The carers have all been fantastic with their care for mum, and nothing is too much trouble when it comes to caring for mum and making her feel comfortable, safe and cared for during this difficult time. We cannot thank them enough - I would highly recommend this care home to anyone for their loved ones.
The staff team at Roberttown Care Home have provided wonderful support for my mother during her introduction to this home. It was a difficult period for her having to accept that she needed full time care, but I felt relieved to have such a great team to support my mother. They work extremely hard and will always do their best for their residents and also to help family members come to terms with the new residential care situation. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they are forthcoming with updates and helpful when this get more difficult. I would have no worries recommending this care home to anyone.
We attended this home and it was lovely to be greeted by care staff who were extremely on the ball. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. Residents appeared comfortable and well looked after. Thank you for a lovely visit.
The staff could not be more supportive, providing all care with empathy in a professional manner. One of the staff sat with mum on her first day to comfort her after the ordeal of the transfer from the hospital until we arrived. We are always made welcome when we visit and are kept up to date about her progress and any issues at visits or by phone. The care home manager is very hands-on and will always make herself available if we have any questions or require support. The home's individual rooms, communal areas, gardens and parking area are spotless while still keeping that homely feeling. If I am ever in a position to require extra care and support I would be happy to stay at Robberttown Care Home.
