View Full Details of White Rose HouseMy aunt has advanced Alzheimer's and unfortunately doesn't know me really any more. She moved from a care home in Lepton when it closed over a year ago and I am very pleased with her care. The home is clean and well-presented, the staff are caring, helpful and friendly. Although she cannot participate in much, she enjoys some of the activities and apparently 'Elvis' is a great hit with her! Thank you for her continuing care.
I highly recommend White Rose Care Home for end-of-life care. Absolutely fantastic. My dad was admitted for end-of-life care in December 2023 and died in February 2024. The care he received was outstanding. All staff members are friendly, caring and professional, nothing was too much for them. They not only looked after my dad but also supported all the family and this support has continued since Dad died as they now invite my mum to social events they hold. I can't thank them enough for the care and support we all received.
White Rose House was recommended to me for my mother's care and we have not been disappointed. I am constantly informed of any alterations in Mother's health and care needs. Facilities and care are excellent and I cannot find any faults and would recommend White Rose House to anyone.
My friend has recently become a resident at White Rose House after a short spell in hospital. I cannot fault the care she is receiving there. Under the management, the staff are wonderful. I have seen nothing but kindness and politeness. The food is also of good quality and plentiful. Beautifully cooked. At the moment my friend's stay is temporary but after a spell at home if she was unable to cope I would certainly recommend she went there again. Thank you to everyone at White Rose House.
After suffering a COPD/suspected heart failure downturn at home at the end of October I spent twelve days at hospital after which time I elected to come to White Rose House for respite rather than return to my own home (alone) with carers calling four times per day... I have now been here for four weeks and am so pleased I made that decision! I have a calm and very pleasant room with an ensuite and a bright outlook onto the courtyard garden and hills beyond. The staff are all so helpful, friendly, reassuring and are there for everyone here they really are remarkable. I have no doubt, however long I stay, I will have benefitted greatly from the care and encouragement I have received and am sure the long term residents here would feel the same.
My 90-year-old, dementia suffering father went into this home, from his first day the care and support he has received has been first class. The manager and her team have been magnificent in helping Dad settle in. We have seen his mood improve, he is more engaged and is certainly happier than he was alone at home.
Mum has been at White Rose House for the past 15 months which has not been an easy time. The staff are extremely kind and have looked after her really well. Whenever I ring and ask to speak to her, the person who answers the phone, always knows where she is and how she is. They are always happy to have a chat or pass the phone to her. The home is bright, modern and there are often activities going on and a garden for good weather. At my first official return visit on Monday, I was made so welcome it was really heartwarming and I was very pleased. It’s been such a difficult time over the last twelve months, but I am grateful to all the staff for the care afforded to my mum.
White Rose House has kept the safety of their residents at the forefront of their minds during this extremely difficult time. However, they have recognised the need for contact with families and friends and have facilitated this, as best they can. When phoning to check how my mum is, I have never felt a bother and have, in general, been updated with a nice anecdote. When I was allowed to visit the Home, it was always clean and well maintained. The communal areas and bedrooms are well furnished and the food looks nice. I have sampled it myself and had no complaints. The staff are friendly and the addition of the wellbeing co-ordinators has been of great benefit.
After lockdown, my 97-year-old Grandma suffered desperately with loneliness as suddenly her active social life halted. Her physical health suffered as a result and in June she was admitted to hospital. She wasn't well enough to go home so was taken to White Rose House where she spent the 1st week in isolation. She was desperately unhappy and terrified that she'd never return home. She'd always said that she never wanted to go into a care home. Well, within a week of being out of isolation, her exact words were "I love it here". She didn't want to go home plus I was worried she'd be unable to cope. I was able to arrange for her to stay permanently at White Rose House where she was so happy. Unfortunately, I've been unable to go into her new home due to Covid-19 restrictions but was able to visit from the window and we could chat and see one another. Grandma became poorly again but from the window I witnessed incredible tenderness from her carers, they made her laugh as well. I owe them so much.
My mum lived at White Rose for just over two years, like most people she didn't want to leave her home but with the help of the staff she settled very quickly. I visited my mum almost every day so I did get a good feel for the workings of the home and the atmosphere created. It is very modern and clean and well decorated. There are plenty of different rooms or sitting areas so the residents don't spend all day in the communal lounge if they don't want to. My mum spent a lot of time in her own room which was her choice but did enjoy the sing-songs around the piano or when local singers came in to entertain the residents. She had her hair done each Monday at the salon onsite. On sunny days she loved to sit out in the garden with a coffee or wine. The staff were always kind, caring and compassionate and when my mum was on end of life care in April they took this to a new level in difficult circumstances. I would not hesitate in recommending White Rose House.
My mother, who has been a resident for a couple of years, recently became very unwell quite suddenly. The outstanding care my mother received from the management team and staff was amazing and due to their prompt actions, my mother is now well and truly on the mend. I cannot praise the staff and the home enough. Simply outstanding.
When mum decided at 98 years old that she needed extra care and leave her home of 40 years, it was a wrench. The home visits prior to her going to White Rose House helped enormously. Once in White Rose House, they helped her to settle and feel at home. She was happy and comfortable there and would say "the staff is lovely and the food is very good!". A win-win situation Iw ould say. Thank you White Rose House.
Mum was well looked after during her stay. The room was clean and nice and the staff, attentive.
My wife has been at White Rose House for four years. We struggled to find anywhere locally that matched up to the standards of White Rose. Generally, we are happy with the home. Occasionally communication isn't made between shifts. The activities are 'random' - sometimes don't happen and some residents don't seem to be involved. Also, it's a shame when good carers move on. Management tried hard to achieve the recent CQC good standards and it is hoped that they will be maintained.
Think everything is OK. Kept warm, clean. Food is good and someone there all the time to help.
Provided good care for my dad he was very happy here "warm, well-fed and well cared for". The staff got to know dad well and enabled considerable improvement in his physical and emotional well-being during his 8-month stay. The manager and deputy manager were major drivers of understanding dad's care needs. The cleaner was always helpful and friendly. Thank you.
My mum has had a good stay at White Rose. Thank you.
In my opinion, standards have improved in the last few months. The staff, in general, are attentive, pleasant and caring. The food seems to have improved and there is a pleasant atmosphere.
My mother has been in White Rose House for 5 years - largely satisfactory, although she is got up out of bed in the mornings too late sometimes.
Two months ago I would have been extremely likely to recommend White Rose House to friends, but recently I've had a few concerns.
