View Full Details of Claremont Nursing HomeBrother here for end-of-life care. Staff showed exemplary kindness and concern for his dignity and welfare.
I attended a meeting with staff and experts involved with dementia care recently. My sister has been in Claremont Nursing Home about six weeks. She is settling in well, although it took a little while at first. Her dementia is a complicated one, which varies with her mood. It was obvious and reassuring how much they wanted the very best for her. I have found the staff friendly and kind. The home is cheerfully decorated and clean. They residents are frequently supplied with drinks and treats. They look comfortable and well cared for. I am grateful to the management and staff who look after those with a difficult and complicated illness.
My dad was at Claremont from April 2024 until his passing in September 2024. The staff were very kind and caring, they always had a smile and went out of their way to help. Every member of staff from the carers, nurses, management, cleaners, administration and kitchen staff have the residents best interests at heart. Their kindness and empathy extended, not only to my dad, but also to our family, always making us feel welcome at the home and involved in dad's care. I would like to express my gratitude and thanks to all staff at Claremont who looked after my dad making his last months as comfortable and happy as possible.
Very pleased with the care provided for my Mother. The home was clean and well looked after. The meals were of a good standard. Security was very good. The staff were kind and considerate. Communication was very good.
Staff always very very kind, patient and cheerful. Happy to respond to requests. Nothing too much trouble. Very clean environment for residents and visitors. Maybe a few more colourful pictures on the walls is all we would suggest.
My mum has been a resident of Claremont for a month now. I can not compliment the staff and the care she has been given enough. All of the staff have been fantastic. My mum cannot speak English and they have been very understanding in overcoming this hurdle. Having members of the team that can communicate with my mum in Punjabi has been an immense help. Anytime we have visited my mum has always been very complimentary about the care she has been given. They have been amazing at calling my sister with regular updates on her care. My sister lives in Leicester so has not been able to visit as often as me. Not having to explain cultural issues has been amazing. When I pressed the call button when I visited the staff were very quick to respond, polite, enthusiastic, and had great communication with me and my mum. All the staff are fantastic at very challenging jobs. I would like to give six members of staff in particular and all nurses a massive thank you.
I am not happy with the way some residents are allowed to wander into the rooms of vulnerable residents. I appreciate that these able-bodied residents can wander at will as it is their home but they shouldn't be able to just walk into someone's private room when that person cannot do anything about it. Where is the safeguarding for vulnerable people? Also, it's an invasion of privacy. Also, items go missing and haven't been recovered.
My sister has been a resident at Clairmont since July 2023 and I have been impressed by the care she has received. The staff are diligent and attentive. My sister appears to be happy. We feel we made an excellent choice in bringing her to Clairmont.
Food is poor at tea time and arriving late. Property constantly going missing out of room or getting broken. No staff anywhere when needed. Not getting checked by staff to see if she needs assistance with anything. Poor management and lack of staff.
My father has been a resident since May last year. He is very happy and well cared for. Everybody does their best to attend to his needs. He enjoys taking part in the activities and events provided. Many of these include families too. We are able to visit at any time and are always welcome. If we have any concerns they are dealt with promptly and we get support from all the staff. The food is nutritious and freshly prepared daily. We are very happy with all aspects of his stay in this home-from-home.
I'm very happy with the care that my aunt receives at Claremont. She always seems happy and content and even though she isn't well enough to join the other residents in the communal areas, she has a pleasant room overlooking the park. The care staff I've met are all caring and attentive and she is checked regularly. The food is freshly cooked and my aunt, who was struggling to eat in her last care home, is looking better than she has done for quite a while. Overall, we're very pleased.
Brilliant and so caring, always attentive and always there when needed. Makes you feel wanted and always asking if you need anything. The activity is so good and important to keep him alert. The food is so good for him.
As a family, we have many concerns over my father's care since he joined the home. Also, they even contacted me to let me know he was 'doing fine' a month after he had already left the home. I couldn't believe the call I received, but clearly, the people in control do not have the appropriate measures in place to ensure that information given is correct. I assume the 'doing fine' comment is a default conversation. Moving him to a more suitable home was the best thing we could do to protect his ongoing welfare. Not good enough Claremont, on any level.
Claremont Nursing Home looked after our mum since December 2020. We felt our mum was cared for with dignity and respect at all times. We would like to thank all the staff and the management team, thank you.
My wife was a resident of Claremont Nursing Home for 7.5 years, and over the years, I and my family felt she was very well looked after and cared for by a very supportive and caring team. The staff work long hours in sometimes difficult conditions, particularly since Covid has been around and we are very thankful for everything they did for my wife and how much they supported me and should be applauded for how hard they work. Thank you.
The staff at Claremont do an amazing job despite it being one of the most difficult imaginable. As a family, we can't thank them enough for looking after him when he and we needed it the most. Following a harrowing stay in hospital we were very grateful to find Claremont, my dad was admitted with a terminal brain tumour and they supported him with patience, care and humour (when appropriate:) throughout all of the very different development stages of his illness. In his last days, they were totally there caring and looking after all of us, making what will always be a truly sad and tragic event as bearable as it could be. Thank you. There are many people at Claremont who truly love helping people do a brilliant job under what appear to be very tough funding conditions, I hope that the government can help this get better in the future for both the carers and residents as they are both hugely deserving of as much help and support as possible to make their time as good as it can be.
My wife went into Claremont Nursing Home on the 29th July 2017 and she has settled in very well. All the staff treat the residents with love and dignity. I visit my wife most days and never ever seen any member of staff get angry with any resident no matter how trying the situation may be. The home is wholly calm, the carers are always on hand to help residents who need help with their meals etc.
