The atmosphere at the home as soon as you enter is warm comforting and welcoming. The staff are lovely and smiling and friendly. Rooms are large bright and airy and the conservatory looks out into a peaceful garden. Dad is content and rested and clearly likes the staff which is very different to another home he was in previously. My mum and I feel assured he is being cared for and well loved.

My mum is receiving kind, dignified and supportive care at Ghyll Royd Nursing Home. The full team are cheerful, positive, approachable and helpful. The residents all have a ready-made extended family the moment they decide to reside at the Nursing Home. My mum has flourished in their care and enjoys time in her room, the lounge/dining room and particularly outside in the lovely gardens, as she really appreciates connecting with nature. The kitchen staff cater to my mum's dietary needs, and she heartily enjoys her food. She feels included in the daily entertainment - Mum enjoys and engages in the musical activities, having always loved ballroom dancing in her younger years. I have full peace of mind that my mum is safe physically and mentally (with her medications always taken on time with full supervision) and that all her needs are being met at Ghyll Royd. I would like to say a huge "Thank you" to all the Team for playing their part in caring for my lovely mum.

My mother-in-law has been at Ghyll Royd Care Home since July 2024, she moved from hospital and rehab, where she was suffering from an unrepairable broken hip and shoulder. Management were very kind and welcoming, and I can only say that the Rowan Community staff have surpassed our expectations of care for her, always treating her with respect and kindness, and are able to give her the nursing care she needs in her current, extremely frail condition. They always update us with any changes and/or deterioration and explain why. Her room is always spotlessly clean. Thank you to everyone.

My aunt was very frail when discharged from hospital suffering from terminal cancer and dementia. She found a haven of skilled and compassionate care at Ghyll Royd for her last days. It was such a comfort to us during that period and since to know that she was being cared for so well. The staff culture at that home is consistently excellent and on point, from those who do the cleaning right through to the nursing professionals, leadership team and admin staff. The genuine open-door policy for extended family and friends to visit any time makes the transition of a loved one into care so seamless.

Very high standard of care, friendly staff that are happy to accommodate family's plans and always happy to see you. Good facilities. Appreciate all the work that goes on by all involved. Would recommend.

My wife has been in the Beech community for just over a year now. During that time she has received excellent care and attention. Her dementia, diabetes and coeliac conditions have all been handled with a high level of professionalism. Everyone at Ghyll Royd works together as a team to achieve this whilst treating residents and their families with kindness, respect, dignity and friendliness. There is a warm atmosphere throughout generated by nursing staff, carers, housekeeping and admin staff. This includes a friendly smile and a word or two from everyone when we visit. Lots of activities are arranged by the 'Pink Ladies' team both in-house and also with trips out to local places which is very much appreciated. Thank you so much to all of you at Ghyll Royd.

My husband was at Ghyll Royd for 3 weeks at the end of his life. From first contacting the home, up to his death and after, the care and support given by the whole team has been wonderful. He (and we) were treated with dignity, care and compassion by the whole team from management to care team and nurses. We have felt supported throughout what was a very difficult time. The nursing team managed his medical needs incredibly well, particularly through his last few days and we never felt like he was in any discomfort. I would highly recommend them to others.

Our dad lived in the Rowan community at Ghyll Royd for 4.5 months and we have nothing but good things to say about the caring and compassionate way he was looked after by the whole team. He settled in quickly and was very content living there. During Dad's last days, the support of the staff given to both him and our family really helped us all.

My wife has been in the nursing unit Willow for 14 months she has got MND the nursing staff are very good and supportive with her total care and medication. She is treated with kindness and respect by all the nursing staff carers and management everyone has a smile and is supportive of us as a family.

Dad needed residential dementia nursing care urgently when discharged from hospital. We contacted Ghyll Royd and it was so impressive that they were able to assess him and admit him the same day for a respite period. It was really good to see the staff in Beech so patient and caring with all the residents and they were brilliant. The management worked well and did all they could to make arrangements as easy as possible all around. The nursing care worked really well in getting his medication sorted and provided an excellent 'handover' as he left Ghyll Royd. Unfortunately, Dad is unable to stay on at Ghyll Royd, though it was our preferred option. I'd definitely recommend Ghyll Royd.

Staff are always polite, attentive and caring to residents or visitors. They promptly contact me by phone or e-mail regarding any issues that concern the well-being of my mother. I'm so glad that she is well looked after, as she has looked after everybody else in our family all her life. It is of great peace of mind to me that she resides at Ghyll Royd. Thank you and keep up the good work.

Such a caring team of staff looking after my mother-in-law in the last few months of her life. When her time to leave us came, the calm support was very welcome. It was very touching to see how upset the staff were. It felt like we were all family together.

My mother-in-law was well looked after with the staff taking time to get to know her. Her nursing needs were complex however the staff confidently dealt with these needs taking time to explain to us what they were doing and why. No question was a "silly question." All staff took time with her and listened to her whether making her bed or administering medication. The stimulus from activities ensured she thrived and had fun. The staff listened to her and treated her wishes with respect and accommodated what she requested.

During my mum's stay at Ghyll Royd she has received excellent support and care in terms of personal needs and health. Staff have been open and honest about Mum's needs and have supported not just Mum but the whole family. The nursing care has been first-rate and they have carefully monitored Mum's diabetic conditions. "Nursing team first-rate."

My mother is in the residential dementia unit - Blossom. I have found all the staff have been welcoming, kind and considerate towards me and to my mother who has settled in very quickly and is happy. The home has a culture of professionalism and competence led from the top. The standards of care are high and I can see the daily care and meals she receives on my phone through the online portal. Attention is given to the detail of her personal care plan to get it right and includes dispensing her supplements! A choice of communal spaces provides variety and the activities are provided most days. The vegetarian menu reflects specific requests I have made with a variety of home-cooked meals. The beds have high-quality memory foam type mattresses. Relatives can visit at any time without notice. All in all Ghyll Royd has provided everything I was hoping to find for my mother and for the first time I have been able to relax and to not worry. Thank you everyone. Highly recommended.

No words of ours can fully express our gratitude for the superb care our mum, received from you and your wonderful staff. Nothing was too much trouble and everyone was always willing to go above and beyond, to make her comfortable and safe, and help her to reach so close to her 104th birthday! We were especially grateful, and very moved by, the help and loving care you gave her and her family during her final days. It really helped us all to cope in the final stages of her life. We will keep in touch with the brilliant people who befriended us during her time with you. Thank you all so very much.

My mum is now at a point where she needs total care for everything. I am sure she is aware of her surroundings and her situation but can no longer vocalise or do anything herself. I live 200 miles away and visit as often as I can and every time I leave knowing that she is getting the best of care and is treated with dignity and respect. I can not fault the staff looking after her and they treat her as they would their own. She is in the best place she could be.

We really wish we had got our Dad into Ghyll Royd sooner than we did, the thought of having to put him in a home was daunting enough but from the first day, our minds were at rest. The staff were absolutely brilliant, so kind and gentle with Dad and attentive to his every need. They also made us feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Although Dad's stay was short we as a family saw a huge difference in his whole attitude. We will forever be grateful to all the staff at Ghyll Royd for making Dad's stay a pleasant and comfortable one.
