View Full Details of Headingley Nursing HomeMy dad was a resident for a short period of time. The time he spent there was nice, the building was well-equipped and well staffed they embraced him like family and were professional patient and caring. They were very supportive to the family and they provide an excellent care service, would highly recommend them.
Mum was a resident at Headingley Nursing Home for just over 12 months until she passed away in August 2023. Throughout her stay there, we were very happy with the care she received, she was always treated with dignity and respect and was very settled. Although she had many mental and physical incapacities, the staff did a great job of looking after her and really pushed the boat out when it was Mum and Dad's 59th wedding anniversary, the chef baked a cake, they were given an anniversary card and the staff put banners and balloons up in the conservatory when my dad visited which put a big smile on both their faces! The staff took great care of her and gave us regular updates on her health. I would be very happy to recommend Headingley Nursing Home.
Headingley Nursing Home were brilliant with taking care of my cousin throughout the pandemic. They ensured that he never got the virus, he was always happy whenever I spoke to him. He could not speak highly of the care staff. Even when he went downhill last year they were great with his care. Everyone from the manager to the cleaners knew him really well and knew what he likes. They all made him comfortable throughout his last months. I'm sure without their great care, he would not have been with us until recently. My sincere thanks to all the staff and the manager for helping us through the difficult time, I can't thank you all enough.
My Father was a resident for approximately 8 months after suffering a stroke. He required 24 hour nursing spending most of his stay in bed. His care was outstanding and delivered with the utmost dignity. Staff at all levels should be commended for their dedication throughout what was a very difficult time for all. Thank you to all at Headingley Nursing Home.
My beloved sister, was in this care home for over two years. On each visit (and despite very extensive care needs) she was calm and contented, clean and well cared for. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff at this home, the admin. team, kitchen staff, health care assistants, nursing staff. They were all welcoming, kind and knowledgeable about my sister and, most importantly, kind to her and gentle with her. They worked hard to treat her with dignity. Thank you to all the team.
My mother spent nearly a year at this home, during which time she was looked after superbly. The manager and staff worked extremely well as a team. They encouraged visits and activities and were proactive in discussing the care provided and dealing with any questions and concerns. My mother was very well cared for - she was encouraged to join activities, whilst her wishes, preferences and privacy were fully respected. Her personal and physical care was of the highest standard - this included washing, help with mobility and laundry (items regularly washed and returned on time). Many of the staff have worked here for a long time, which speaks volumes for the establishment and the way it treats its employees and residents. Food was of a high quality and interaction between residents, visitors and staff was friendly and professional. Sadly, mum died peacefully in April at the home - she was made very comfortable and was content, relaxed and fully supported.
My husband recently died at Grove Court whilst receiving 24 hour nursing care following a 6 weeks stay in hospital. I cannot praise highly enough the care and compassion shown to us both by both management and staff in his final days. I could stop worrying, knowing that he was being, gently, kindly and efficiently cared for all through the day and night. Although he was unable to benefit from it, the atmosphere in the lounges and dining room was relaxed and friendly and the food smelled and looked excellent. Should I ever need it, I would be happy to live there as a resident.
Every member of staff is a credit to Grove Court. They couldn't have offered my Mum better care for the short time she was in their care. Although she was bed bound for the duration of her stay they took the time to sit and chat with her. We took great comfort in the knowledge that in her final days/hour's she was comfortable and peaceful.
