View Full Details of Willow Bank Nursing HomeMy dad had been a resident for four years and had received excellent care over this time. He loved the food! The staff were kind, caring and attentive. Sadly he died at Christmas. He was treated with such care, and we, his family, were treated with such sensitivity and kindness. We will always be grateful to the wonderful staff that work here.
My aged aunt was moved into Willow Bank in September this year, she was struggling to cope at home (living by herself at 93 years of age. As far as I can see she is receiving excellent care and attention. The staff really seem to enjoy their work and always have a smile. My main contact has been with a staff member in the office who projects the whole ethos of the home (happy, caring and finds time for everyone). I can't comment on value for money (she is being funded by the NHS).
Don't really do reviews but after spending every day for the last 3 weeks visiting both parents, I need to tell anyone who reads this that Willie Bank has exceeded my expectations. They are great, helpful empathetic and understanding to their needs. Food is fab, real good variety. Carers work extremely hard but still greet with a smile. One staff member in particular in the office is so helpful, it's very reassuring knowing you've got someone around who knows all the ins and outs. The nurses are professional and knowledgeable and understand complex needs. So happy I found this place. Compared to others it was a great find.
My mother-in-law was moved from the hospital to Willow Bank and diagnosed with terminal cancer (already diagnosed with dementia). The room we chose was light and airy, she was given a pressure mattress as she had pressure sores from her hospital stay. She was very comfortable and happy during the short time she lived there. The care she was given was the best we could have asked for. Always someone to answer any questions we had about her care and her deteriorating health. We like that there was always a registered nurse available and that a GP visited weekly. We would highly recommend Willow Bank.
For over 12 months Willow Bank have looked after my brother who had suffered a massive stroke. Sadly he has now passed. The standard of care given to him was excellent. The staff are so friendly, especially the staff member on the front desk. I cannot thank the home and the staff enough for everything they have done. From a very grateful brother, thank you.
Overall I was well looked after and cared for with kind and caring staff. I was worried about my short stay but came away saying I would like to stay again. My daughter said that she was pleased with how the staff have been overwhelmingly accommodating to me.
Me and my brother come to see our brother once a week. We find it very welcoming, and the staff are very friendly. The patients are well looked after.
Since new management, my mother has been well looked after. Very happy with her room. We like how she is dressed on every visiting day. We looked at several homes, but we found Willow Bank was the most homely.
I was frustrated with the care of my father over the last couple of years that was not always good with the last management. However the new manager is professional, approachable, treats me and my resident father with respect, genuinely cares for people and since his appointment there has been a big improvement at Willow Bank in all areas and the home seems to be on the up. I would also like to thank the assistant manager and the staff that do their best. I hope other staff will jump on board.
The home has improved over the last six months. The current manager has worked hard to address issues of access to buzzers for the residents, staff training and general improvement in the daily running of the home. There has been an increase in the staff who arrange activities for the residents. There is now a much more positive atmosphere within the home. I am a retired social worker/manager, I am pleased with the improvements made. I visit my husband every day and am therefore aware of what happens within the home.
Excellent service all round, no complaints whatsoever.
Upon arriving at the home all the staff are very welcoming, especially on arrival when signing in. If I need anything for my dad all staff are very helpful. Dad's room is always clean and everything he needs is at hand. I love the way Dad has a door outside so we can put plant pots outside, which he loves.
My mum had to go into a nursing home after my Dad passed away, and I was unable to care for my mum on my own. I went to visit this care home and it was so welcoming and decorated lovely. The staff were lovely, so friendly and informative and the care assistants were so friendly and upbeat. The nurses were lovely, the manager was great and mum settled in well, but sometimes could be difficult. But the staff always cheered her up and kept her spirits up. When my mum became really poorly and passed away, I was with her. The manager and nurse who were there were so compassionate and caring and guided me through it every step of the way. Thank you so much.
My mum has not been at the home long but I have seen a massive improvement in her health and social ability. The staff are always welcoming and friendly. It is also nice to see all the management about. The home is absolutely spotless and always smells nice. I am so pleased to have found this home, I'm over the moon. Plenty of activities to keep Mum stimulated.
I have loved my stay at Willow Bank Nursing Home, I really do not want to leave. The staff here are so caring, nothing was too much.
All the staff there couldn't do enough, they welcomed her and us. She was there for respite, her room was perfect for her with her own toilet and TV, she was delighted. When we went to see her, a flow test was done and sanitised. They gave us tea and coffee, they were great. She was happy there but still couldn't wait to get back home to her husband. It was just what she needed.
Very caring friendly staff. My father's level of care during his stay has been excellent.
Very impressed by the care and kindness my husband is receiving. Staff can't do enough for us and we are so grateful as my husband can be quite difficult.
As with every visit, no faults to be found.
I am pleased with the care my husband receives and the warm welcome I get, as his wife. I think more variety should be available for vegetarians.
