View Full Details of Hemsworth Park Care HomeStaff are poor, not interested in doing the job. Everything seems like a chore when asked to do something. Residents left in need. Extremely poor experience. We were only with them 4 days before my grandfather was rushed back to hospital with severe safeguarding issues raised regarding this home! Would not recommend. Extremely poor experience throughout it all.
My mum came into this home in September 2023. At first, she was unsettled and doing some very strange things, so she was moved nearer to the office where she could be watched, she has now settled down and seems to be very happy. She talks to everyone. A lot of the staff are lovely caring people and they work hard. The only thing according to Mum is there doesn't seem to be much going on i.e. entertainment or social get-together. I think because mum doesn't hear very well or see very well she doesn't join in if there is anything going on. The only thing that is negative to me is there needs to be some sort of intercom system or visitors should be able to get a code to get in and out. It shouldn't be up to all the staff to drop what they are doing (taking care of residents) to keep coming and opening the main doors every time someone comes. However, my overall review is I'm grateful to each and every one of you in the care home for looking after and caring for my mum.
My father-in-law came to this home on end-of-life care, we knew he didn't have long left and the staff at this home made the time bearable for us all. The care and compassion they showed towards my father-in-law was second to none and we can not thank them enough. We were always kept updated on how he was doing and they always went above and beyond.
My wife came into the home and was not very happy, but after about four to five weeks, she has changed completely and now looks forward to visits and is always happy and smiling.
Dad has been at the care home since May 2023. Although he has still not fully settled most of the time he seems happy. The staff are wonderful and he is looked after very well. There are weekly outings for shopping and the library and when the weather is good, a visit to the park down the road is made. The varied menu for each meal is good although dad always chooses ice-cream for pudding. The room he is in although quite small is adequate for his needs with a wash basin, wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside cabinet. He is regularly showered and his clothing is always clean. I would recommend the home to anyone looking for a place for their loved one.
I arrived at Hemsworth Park Care Home on the 26th of May. On my arrival, I noticed the immediate cab the staff gave to my mum. They were very efficient and caring. The management and staff introduced themselves immediately and explained everything. The manager had always kept me up to date when the doctor or nurse has been to see my mum. I am very happy with the care of my mom is receiving at Hemsworth Park Care Home.
We, as a family, just want to thank every single member of staff at Hemsworth Park Care Home for everything they have done for my grandad over the last couple of months. The care and support he's received while being a resident at the home has been second to none, and anything he needed or wanted has been delivered to such a high standard of care and nothing that my family or grandad asked for was ever any trouble. Each and every one of you does such an amazing job to treat every resident the way you do, and we will be forever grateful for everything you've done for him. Not only have we got him home, but he's also come back so much better than we could have ever hoped for, and it's all been down to the care he received. Thank you doesn't seem enough, but please know how grateful we are to you all.
As soon as I walked into this home I knew it was going to be perfect for my Dad. It's very clean, bright. The staff are all lovely and helpful, polite and informative and nothing is too much trouble. I know when I leave my dad he is in very safe hand. I can see what he's eaten and drank (which is plenty). His room is very clean and he has a window that can be opened, a large television, wardrobe and drawers. I know my dad is going to be safe and happy here. It truly is a breathe if fresh air compared to some care homes.
This is a very clean care home with very friendly staff. Nothing is too much trouble. My mum has a shower room opposite her room and a hairdresser goes in once a week to do the lady's hair. The meals are wonderful and there are plenty of drinks to be had.
I am very happy with the care given to my grandma she is treated with kindness and respect. The staff are very good at their job and do what they can to help. If I have concerns they listen and deal with it correctly.
My mam has settled in the home very well, Mam gets on well with all the care staff. They treat my mam with dignity and respect. When I fetch Mam home for the day to my house she is always ready to go back to the care home with a smile. If I have any concerns about my mam staff are always ready to help.
My son has been a resident at this home since the beginning of May and has come on leaps and bounds with the support of the carers. His overall mental health and outlook on life has been exceptional even in this short time. My peace of mind has been restored and I feel content my son is in the best possible place and is happy in his environment.
I cannot praise Hemsworth Park Care Home enough. All staff I have had contact with have been very professional and gone above and beyond their care of duty to my daughter. I feel it is not just a job to you people but a true vocation. I thank you, I am sure you will keep giving the same level of service during these very hard times. I wish to thank you again.
I found the whole experience of visiting my mother quite satisfying. The staff were always helpful and polite. My mother was treated with respect and looked after very well.
My brother has been in Hemsworth Park for 2 years now. He is a very vulnerable person, he cannot speak or feed himself but the girls have worked with him so well that they understand his every move.
The staff are doing a great job under the circumstances, it’s upsetting not being able to visit but through social media updates it’s been great to see the smiles on my grandma’s face from all the activities the staff have involved her and the rest of the residents in.
The staff here are amazing. Whatever you need, they will try their best for you. Staff makes you feel like your on an all-inclusive holiday. They always have time for you and they will always listen and have a chat. The food is really nice to be fair, I'm always stuffed. I can have a cuppa whenever I want, a shower whenever I want. The care home is very clean and tidy. The staff are always on the go. I would definitely recommend here to anyone.
Treated with a lot of care, always alright. Activity staff always check if I am ok and get me to join in activities. It is spot on always clean and tidy due to the cleaning staff and carers are very caring and treat me with dignity. Feel at home here.
Staff have been really helpful during the lockdown and have bent over backwards to accommodate, limited visits when possible. My partner was quite ill during this period, and we were kept in touch about her welfare, for which we are grateful. Their care, concern and communication were excellent.
Staff and carers do a very good job. Cleanliness and food are excellent.
