View Full Details of Snydale Care HomeMy dad moved into the care home for respite in June. He is living there permanently from last month The manager and all the team are so helpful and caring. They laugh and joke with Dad always and he loves how the staff are with him they make him smile so much. They held a summer fair which I attended and the manager and all the team was fantastic with all the residents they had a singer and ice cream van and stalls. I watched all the team interact with everyone was amazing one big family. Whenever I visit I see various activities Bingo, dancing, singing, knitting club sitting with residents doing jigsaws and lots more. Dad's birthday a few weeks ago the chef made a beautiful cake and his bedroom was decorated with balloons etc. What really made my day yesterday was when Dad was taken to pay his respects for remembrance, dad was in the army and he said it made his day yesterday. I cannot praise this care home enough for everything they do. Would recommend it to everyone.
I am so pleased with the care and support my dad has received during the last 20 months. Staff helped him settle into his new home very quickly and encouraged him to take part in their well-organised activities. All staff were approachable and kept us informed of any concerns. Snydale has a homely feel, and whilst the last two years have been challenging for staff in respect of Covid, Dad's well-being was always met. I have no hesitation in recommending Snydale to others. I am only sorry he is leaving, but unfortunately, his needs have changed, and he now requires nursing care. Thank you to all staff.
I cannot express how seriously disappointed I am at the lack of support and care my mother-in-law received. My mother-in-law was there for just over a year, due to restrictions we were unable to visit at first, so relied and believed that she was receiving the care and support she deserved. How wrong were we. My mother-in-law was regularly dehydrated, left in dirty, soiled clothing, even resulting in admissions to hospital due to the neglect. When we asked to speak to the manager she did not show any empathy or compassion and blamed the staff for any issues raised. Even worse, nothing changed as a result of our concerns being raised and it just got worse for my mother-in-law. Some of the staff strived to care, however, they were under pressure, understaffed and lacked the knowledge, training and support they needed. I would implore people really think hard before they put their loved ones in this home.
