View Full Details of Hesslewood House Care HomeMy mother has been a resident of Hesslewood House for a year now. A great location for a care home and surrounded by lovely grounds, we often take mum out in the wheelchair when the weather permits. All those who work at the home are wonderful and it's great to see the same cheery faces when we go for visits. Any questions regarding mums care are always answered quickly and in a friendly manner. Staff always make time to talk face to face which is much appreciated. The home is always clean and welcoming. Recent upgrades to the communal areas have really brightened up the interior. It's always a good sign to see continual investment within such organisations. Mum is always well presented and enjoys the many activities that are provided for the residents. It is such a relief that I and my family know that mum is so well looked after by the terrific team at Hesslewood.
My mum has been in Hesslewood House for coming up to 7 months now and during that time, there has been endless decorating/themed projects in operation. There is a beautiful hair salon, an American themed dining room, cinema with large screen and cinema seats, a tasteful seating area over looking the beautiful gardens and endless decorating around the residential areas. The most recent project has been the reception area which has been decorated beautifully, tastefully furnished with such attention to detail. For any family member or friend that comes to visits, it's such a comfort knowing our loved one's are looked after and live in such beautiful surroundings.
Mum has been at Hesslewood House Care Home for over a year now and we couldn't have chosen a better place for her to live. The staff are the most amazing, caring, thoughtful people. Like a lot of families who have to make the tough decision to place their loved one into a care home, we were apprehensive but Hesslewood House has been such a good choice. Any doubts that lingered in the depths of our minds were allayed the day my sister walked into mum's room (the door was open) to find one of the staff sitting on her bed cuddling her and talking to her just as we would. This is the loving attitude of everyone at Hesslewood House. Mum's dementia means she can be difficult, sometimes very difficult but they reassure just like us somehow letting her harsh words go straight over their heads while we reel! No day is mundane, events (and there are many) are inconclusive of family and the atmosphere of normality is amazing, residents miss out on nothing. Supermarket trips, pub lunches, walks.
I can not praise the Manager and staff enough at Hesslewood House Care home. My brother is lucky enough to be a resident at the care home for over a year now, he is very happy and settled there. The residents are taking care of so well. There are lots of activities and shows etc. for the residents and families, you have to see it to believe how exceptional the displays and decorations are for absolutely every event. So much hard work and thought is put in to each event. Such commitment, dedication and care for all the residents from the Manager and staff, fabulous care home.
I cannot thank the staff at Hesslewood House for the caring and professional way that they have helped my Mum over the last week, from identifying a problem that was causing Mum upset and anxiety to finding a solution all within 2 days. Mum is now extremely settled and happy.
The whole experience of admitting Dad to Hesslewood House Care Home has been very positive and Dad is settling very well. The home has a very welcoming feel and the staff are lovely, kind and caring. Dad’s room is bright and clean. There’s regular entertainment and activities and there seems to be an ethos of fun and laughter. Dad’s really enjoying the food, it’s plentiful and there’s lots of choice. The home’s grounds are beautiful and I’m looking forward to taking Dad for walks around the gardens. Thank you to everyone at Hesslewood for looking after my dear dad.
My mum (unfortunately now deceased) was in Hesslewood House Care Home for a year, she was a shy, reserved and private person, the care of all staff was second to none, the food was lovely. I occasionally had lunch with her. When she was at end of life again the staff were lovely and very accommodating, I was with her for her final few days and nothing was too much trouble, she was cared for with dignity and care to the very end. I highly recommend Hesslewood House from experience.
The room is lovely and clean, the food is really good and there is plenty of choices. The staff are lovely but I do think there should be more staff working there as sometimes they run off their feet, and for what the residents pay per week there should be enough staff to be able to go to hospital appointments etc. The staff that do work there are really friendly at all times.
Friendly, supportive staff. Very good care.
After visiting a couple of times, the staff have been friendly and helpful. My brother has been well looked after by the staff, they cater to all his needs and the home is lovely and clean.
Provides very creative activities, which are very varied and stimulating for residents.
The home is a welcome place. The staff are friendly and very helpful. My partner is well looked after and the home fills me with confidence. I am happy she is at Hesslewood House Care Home.
Our church goes to Hesslewood House Care Home about every two months to hold a service for the residents. The residents are always keen to join in and it is great to see the staff encouraging them to do so. The staff and residents are always so welcoming to us and look forward to our visits. The residents we meet are always friendly and it is easy to see that the staff really care for the residents.
Really difficult to make the decision to move Mum to care home, but since moving to Hesslewood mum has improved with her memory and is very happy. All the staff are so kind and caring and do everything they can to make Mum feel comfortable and happy. My family and I have also felt really supported and informed about Mum's care and welcomed to the Hesslewood family. Have recommended to others who are considering move to care home.
I have been in Hesslewood House Care Home for approx one year and enjoyed it immensely, considering my condition. Everybody works together with a constant target of improvement! Activities are important to me; this avoids boredom and helps keep my mind active - regular meetings with staff and patients are very important.
It is a wonderful experience to be here. The place itself is like a holiday hotel. The staff are fantastic and so helpful. Everyone here is so polite and friendly. My room is kept spotless and tidy. Anything I want, I've just got to ask. The place itself and surrounding gardens are just beautiful and well-maintained.
When my wife came into Hesslewood I was dubious and concerned as to how she would settle. After nearly two years of residence, I can confirm that my worries were completely unjustified. She settled in immediately and the staff have expressed to me how well she is liked and loved. Although she cannot speak she understands me very well and she is very happy with the care that she has and I could not wish for better.
My sister arrived in the home and I was concerned that she would not settle, however our fears were unfounded as she settled straight away as far as we were concerned. The staff are always friendly and helpful and it’s a pleasure to visit.
Experience has been good and the staff are caring and friendly. They keep me informed.
I see on a daily basis how hard staff work. I and my family are so grateful for their care of my mum. Especially during the horrendous time they have all been through. I'm very grateful for all their sacrifices on our behalf. Mum says how kind they are to her. Can't ask for more than that.
