View Full Details of Barchester Lindum HouseOur mum came to Lindum House in the autumn of 2023 following a stroke at the age of 93, and after decades of independent living. We had looked at several homes, and chose Lindum for the instant warm, caring 'vibes' it emitted - and we were not wrong in our assessment. The manager and her team put us at ease that mum would be in good hands. Mum quickly settled into life at Lindum, with the buzzing atmosphere, friendly, caring and attentive staff and lovely surrounding gardens and clean, well organised facilities. Until her recent passing, mums quality of life in her last 18 months has been wonderful. Right until the end, the Lindum team showed great respect and warmth towards mum, and she was happy. We really cannot think of a better endorsement than that.
My mum has been a resident of Barchester Lindum House, Beverley, for a lot of years, she has been looked after so very well by all long-time members of staff and new ones too. The last few months I have noticed a decline in my mum and she is a little more challenging but as always, the care Mum receives is second to none, I always tell people of the fantastic love and care Mum gets, it's a big relief for me when I leave Mum, she is always in the hands of people that really care. I can't thank you all enough and last but not least, a massive thank you to the manager for all she has done for Lindum House, Merry Christmas to you all.
Thank you so much to all the staff for making a very difficult journey easier. I never thought my mum would settle away from our house but with all your help and support, she has. She has even booked herself onto a trip out without me. She hasn't been anywhere without family for over ten years. You are all truly amazing.
I have been a resident for 5 months I love it, it's home from home, and the staff are friendly I take part in all the activities. The food is lovely the staff and management are so nice. I am so happy! I didn't want to give up my home but it was the right choice for me as I have lots of friends and lovely people to keep me company.
My aunt was a resident at Barchester Lindum House until her recent passing. She thoroughly enjoyed living there and the care she received was second to none. From the day she arrived, the kindness and patience of the staff was superb, until her final days where I can only thank them for their compassion. My family and I will always be very thankful to the staff for their empathy and respect... and for the carers who went above and beyond to make her stay there so very comfortable.
My dad has been a resident at Lindum House for over 12 months now. He has received excellent care and all of the staff, without exception, have been absolutely fantastic. They have a very caring attitude towards all of us, particularly my mum, and are very supportive. They always treat my dad with respect and the utmost dignity.
My husband has been very happy at this care home, and has been very well looked after by the caring and friendly staff, he was quite poorly when he went into this home but has recovered tremendously all due to the care he has been given thank you.
My dad has been in Lindum House for just over 12 months now. The care and support that he has been given is second to none. He is treated with respect and as an individual, which is what we hoped for. All of the staff are lovely and are very welcoming when I and other family members visit, which we do regularly. We never wanted Dad to have to go into a home and it was a big adjustment to us, as he had a rapid deterioration due to a serious decline in his medical condition. But this really is a home-from-home. It was a difficult choice but Lindum House was, and is, the right choice. I would definitely recommend it.
My mum has been a resident in Lindum House since January 2024. She has really settled into the home and made some lovely friends who she chats away with. The care home have daily activities to keep the residents engaged and they enjoy their monthly trip to the pub for some 60's music and a dance! We cannot fault the staff, who have been amazing and helped my mum settle in and look after her needs whilst allowing her independence too. Everyone knows our mum and chats away with her. Having tried other care homes for respite Lindum has by far been the most suited for our mum which has been such a huge relief for us.
A well run home with high standards of care. Very caring staff always happy to help. Pleasant surroundings for the residents. A range of activities offered on a regular basis to encourage socialisation and stimulation. I would recommend this care home to a friend whose relative was requiring care.
My Mam has been a resident of Lindum House for nearly 3 years and as a family we are 100% happy with the care provided. The management, staff and care workers are all super friendly and Mam always seems very happy and content. There are always lots of daily and weekly activities which the residents really enjoy and it is lovely to see these posts on social media. Thank you to everyone at Lindum you are all doing an amazing job. Best Wishes.
Mum went into Lindum for respite when Dad was poorly in January. She really didn’t want to go in a care home and had a previous experience of respite in a different facility. We lost our dad in February so Mum has needed to stay permanently. The staff are all friendly and caring and take the time to get to know the residents. The entertainment team are fab and keep a full packed diary of activities. Trip to the local pub once a month for a golden oldies afternoon, regular singers, animal therapy, bingo, games and lots of other activities. Mum has settled in and enjoys the activities and company of the other residents. Met lots of new friends.
My mum is a resident and due to her dementia she found it very difficult when she first moved from her home, the staff have worked with myself and my brother to understand and to work on helping Mum feel secure and build a trust with the staff. Mum has really settled and now enjoys the activities and is very happy, the staff and the registered manager have shown kindness, patience and caring and have communicated with family at all times, we are very grateful.
My sisters and I arranged for Mum to have respite care at Lindum House whilst my dad was recovering from an accident caused by a fall at his home. The staff were very considerate of Mum's needs and the fact that she was spending time away from her home and husband. They made her feel welcome, safe and a part of their 'family.' They were able to distract Mum from worrying about Dad, encouraging her to take part in activities and join in. Mum went to the cinema and to the pub! Two places she had not visited in a very long time, she thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Her health and well-being was paramount throughout her time there. My family and I can't thank the staff enough for all the help and assurance they gave us at a difficult time. We felt confident leaving our parents in a safe, caring and compassionate residential home. The staff were patient, considerate and professional. I would not hesitate recommending Lindum House to others.
We have had a very positive experience with all aspects at Lindum House. My mum with the help of the friendly caring staff has settled in really well. I’m happy that there isn’t reliance on agency staff it’s nice for Mum to have the same friendly faces who know her well. The daily activity programme provides great mental and social stimulation such as a varied programme I love the fact that the greater community gets involved too. I had no worries in recommending Lindum House to a friend's family.
My aunt was at Lindum House for 2 years and was initially resistant to staying, having been a very independent ninety-two-year-old. She came to like her stay, recognising she was safe, and well-cared for and enjoying meals and talking to staff. I found the staff very helpful and believe my aunt thought the team at Lindum House were very caring and considerate and she had her favourites. I know my aunt was occasionally grumpy and yet I saw staff handle her with patience, kindness and consideration, even when needing to be firm. In our dealings with Barchester, the communication and management of residential care paperwork and invoicing was timely and efficient. Given the challenges of finding a well-run and affordable residential care home we appreciated the positive experience my aunt had at Lindum House in the last two years of her life. Our thanks go to all the staff - front of house and behind the scenes.
My mother has been a resident at Lindum House for almost a year. She is very happy and cannot commend the management and all the staff highly enough. The home has a family and friendly feel to it. She is well cared for and her individual needs are met with great respect. My mother loves the meals and the mealtime arrangements in the dining room where she can chat with her friends. She says her choosing Lindum House was definitely the best decision.
My stepmum was cared for at Barchester Lindum House for the last few months of her life until she passed away on New Year's Eve. At all times, she was cared for with empathy, dignity and respect. The care staff went above and beyond to give a high standard of care and treated my stepmum with kindness. They also helped the family and helped my elderly father when I took him to visit. I would be happy to recommend Lindum House to family and friends.
This home and the carers/nurses/management/cleaning staff/kitchen and laundry staff and not forgetting the 2 handymen are absolutely brilliant. So that's every member of staff sorry if I forgot anyone. They all helped us through a difficult time with Dad, who unfortunately passed whilst here in June, and are now giving Mum first-class care. Care, food, cleanliness, and support for us are excellent. I would and have recommended it to all.
The care home staff are all pleasant, polite and always work with a smile on their face. They listen to my family member's needs and support her in continuing to be independent as much as possible. There are always activities and events going on and the menu is variable. Excellent care by staff and also very supportive before and after the bereavement of our grandad.
