Westfield Park Care Home, Westfield Lane, Hook, Goole, DN14 5PW
View Full Details of Westfield Park Care HomeAs a family we were very anxious about putting mum into the home having had a bad experience elsewhere. However I can say one hundred per cent that we never looked back about our decision of choosing Westfield Park. The home is beautiful, the staff so very caring and professional. Mum went in for respite for a couple of weeks and in that time we could not believe how she changed, going back to being more alert due to the attention and company she received. Just to look at her we could see how well she was being cared for and mum herself had nothing but compliments for the lovely staff. As a family we felt so at ease with someone else having responsibility 24/7 but it was the standard of care and seeing mum thrive so well that made it all worthwhile. Even we could not compete! The food was also top quality and lots of activities going on. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. A big thank you to everyone that made mums visit a success.
Well run home. Staff efficent and friendly. A very pleasant stay.
Since my husband has been in I have seen an improvement in him. Doing more than when he was home. Staff are absolutely great also management they always have time for you very supportive. My only gripe is the laundry; one jumper ruined and laundry seems to take forever to come back. I am now taking his jumpers home to wash. You obviously need more machines to cope with so much washing.
The care provided for our aunt was first class, the room was very spacious, clean and welcoming. All the staff were very helpful and always asked if we wanted anything to drink, nothing too much for them, facilities are excellent, entertainment was great, we loved to join in, would highly recommend the home.
My brother and I moved our 92-year-old mother into Westfield Park last Friday 24 January 2025. We were literally amazed at the quality of the home. More importantly the staff and service provided is exemplary. Everyone is so helpful with a warm friendly and caring attitude. My mother was a little apprehensive about the move initially but after only three days is so much happier and content. All in all a fabulous care home.
The care my mum has received at Westfield has been brilliant. Mum arrived at Westfield after a traumatic period due to deteriorating dementia Previously Mum had been agitated and lost quite a lot of weight. Due to the care received and the excellent food Mum has now gained weight and is settled. When visiting, myself and my elderly father feel welcomed by all staff, who are friendly and helpful.
I have visited Westfield for 2 years. The home is lovely and has well-maintained grounds. The staff are lovely and approachable and work hard. At times there is a shortage which can be frustrating and upsetting. There have been issues with food in the past but now it is really good. Activites and outings are great and well-organised. Nothing is too much trouble for residents and their guests.
A big thank you to the whole team at Westfield- you go above and beyond. We appreciate the care, support and friendship shown to our mum over the past three-and-a-half years. Staff, many of who have worked there a number of years, know the residents well and there is a real sense of community. A family feel which made Mum feel settled and content. There are opportunities to enjoy company in the lounge, as Mum did, to socialise at mealtimes and during the wide range of activities. However those who prefer can use their spacious ensuite room as a flat - watching their own TV or chatting on the phone. Visitiors are always welcome and as a family we have felt confident that managers and staff are open and clear, keeping us up to date with regard to Mum's care.
I am so delighted with Westfield Park. Arranging for a parent to move into care is very difficult. Mum has settled really well and we know she is happy, well cared for, engaged and safe. The staff are all fantastic. They know the residents really well and create a loving and caring home atmosphere. Thank you.
Dad came here about 4 weeks ago after suffering a severe stroke, the staff are friendly, helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The care home itself is warm and welcoming, they have areas for family to eat with their loved ones, there is also a bar and small shop. It's like a hotel for old people.
Recently my father became a resident on Haven at Westfield Park. The manager was very helpful, kind, compassionate and professional. She helped us through a difficult time, made a situation that had reached crisis point more bearable. The senior who I believe is her daughter was also equally supportive. My dad is now happy and settled and we are confident he is getting the best care. Many thanks.
The staff at Westfield Park are very caring and professional. Mum was very settled there and well looked after. Her individual care plan met her needs well. There is open communication between all levels of staff between both residents and their families. There is lots of support at all times which is especially appreciated during difficult times. The facilities at the home are of a very high standard. I would not hesitate to recommend the home.
After Mum entered Westfields Park Care Home she is a changed woman. Very happy, settled and content. The staff are caring and professional. From my experience, I would recommend this facility to anyone looking for a care home in the area.
I find my mum is adequately cared for and very much in comfortable surroundings, carers look after her with a great measure. Nothing too much trouble to make her feel special, always pleasant and polite on our visits, and a warm friendly atmosphere. Activities always going on and encouragement to join in. Regular get-togethers and entertainment for both residents and relatives to spend time with them.
During the brief period my husband and I have spent at Westfield Park, the staff's kindness has made us feel extremely welcome and at home. Westfield is a bright and airy building. Our respite rooms are clean, comfortable and warm. Thank you to all.
I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all the staff at Westfield Park. The warm welcome and kind, professional care given to my parents during this period of respite care is very much appreciated.
High-quality care and provision is evident in all aspects of this care home. Staff at all levels will do anything to help residents and their relatives. The experiences provided to relatives are well-considered and constructed and foster a sense of community. The home is very clean and feels like a high-quality hotel. Staff turnover is very low and they know residents' needs very well, this in turn results in consistent levels of high-quality care.
My wife was admitted in October 2023 because of Alzheimer's/dementia. She settled in immediately and due to the care and engagement of the staff she is more vocal now. They have given me Peace of Mind and that is priceless. Wonderful place and wonderful people.
My husband came into Westfield initially for respite care but ended up staying for a total of 8 weeks as his health deteriorated and he was unable to return home and passed away peacefully in the care home. Myself and my family have been very impressed with the care that he has received throughout. The kindness and attention of all staff members has been overwhelming and particularly during the difficult last few days their care to both my husband and myself and my family could not be faulted. I felt very comforted that my husband was receiving care and attention when I was unable to visit or be there by his side. If ever I need to move into a care home Westfield will be my number 1 choice and I will be reassured that it is a place that I would feel happy to live in.
Westfield Park Care Home gave my 89-year-old Mum the company, supervision and stimulation that she'd not experienced since Covid began in March 2020 when she lost confidence and became afraid of the infection that claimed so many lives, coupled with the onset of Alzheimer's her world shrunk, to then have a couple of respite stays, followed by weekly daycare and eventually as a permanent resident she had company, she had activities and even though she didn't always join in she certainly enjoyed watching the others, the staff there also saved my sanity and gave me valuable support.
