View Full Details of West Park Care HomeI spent 4 weeks at West Park having to have respite care. I cannot praise the staff highly enough for their excellent care of me. Bright, clean and sunny room it was like a home from home. Staff very friendly and always helpful. Resident room 60.
My mum has been a resident for just over 2 years now, from the moment she arrived she has been treated with so much respect, dignity and compassion, sadly my mum passed away, but that wasn't the end of her care, she was looked after right up until she left the home. I have never seen such compassion and respect. This home is truly amazing every single staff member goes above and beyond their role, what an amazing team. Thank you everyone for the love and respect you not only showed my mum but also my dad and my family.
I cannot praise this care home highly enough. Mum going into a care home was an absolute last resort and ultimately the decision made by the hospital. West Park felt right straight away and our instincts have proved correct. The management and staff cannot do enough for mum and we cannot thank them enough. We know that she is safe, happy and healthy. From her going into the home in January 2020 to now she has progressed so much and this is down to their care and attention. Every single staff member is an asset and in such a short amount of time feel like an extended family to both mum and my sister and I. The surroundings are bright and cheerful and it always has an uplifting feeling when we go in which was definitely not the case with some of the places we visited. The restrictions with Covid have been difficult but they have done their very best to ensure that we are kept informed and we have regular video calls. Very happy.
My mother has been a resident for just over six years, and passed away on the 27th December 2019, aged 96 years old. In the latter years, she suffered from severe dementia. During the six years, the entire staff looked after her with love and devotion. They always treated her with dignity and the dedication they all showed was first class. I was kept fully informed of all aspects of her care and felt I was a part of the family of West Park Care Home. In the latter years the home, under the supervision of the manager has been transformed into a modern efficient care home yet still retaining the warm homely friendly atmosphere that impressed me from day one. There is always a choice of good food and nothing is too much trouble for all the girls. I know as the only one left since my father died thirty years ago, without the manager and her team over the last six years I would not have had a life. To summarize, I can not recommend the care highly enough from these dedicated young people.
A very friendly and caring home. Value for money. Staff always involving residents to help with simple tasks to remind them of things.
I have used West Park Care Home for respite for my mum for the past 2 years and I would not consider taking her anywhere else. The first time I used a care home for respite was a terrible experience, so I was very worried about using this service again. Then a friend of mine told me about West Park, I was still unsure but as any full-time carer knows, you do need a break from your caring role from time to time. The first visit to West Park with my mum, to be assessed, made me feel at ease as the manager was so friendly, not only to me but to my mum too, who suffers from vascular dementia, I could tell straight away my mum liked her. The decor of the home is basic but that means nothing to me as the first care home I used was quite smart but the care was poor in my mum's case. West Park have adequate and extremely caring and friendly staff. My mum has just spent 3 weeks in West Park, as we have just had a wet room built for her. When I visit it's like home from home.
My granddad stayed here and called it home. Staff was very welcoming if you needed to know anything, very informative. Would use this place again.
My uncle was resident at West Park for almost two years. He received excellent care during this time and was treated as an individual with dignity and kindness. Various members of the family visited and were all equally pleased. When my mother and I became unable to travel we were able to have peace of mind knowing that my uncle was being so well looked after right up to the end of his life. We cannot thank the manager and staff enough for their dedication.
My uncle was at West Park for 5 days before he sadly passed away. Although, only there for a short time, he was well cared for, comfortable and treated respectfully. During my visits, I always found the staff to be very friendly, helpful and informative.
My husband has been here a couple of times now for respite. He's loved it and made friends with all the residents and staff. The staff are all so helpful and friendly and I would recommend this home to everyone.
Brilliant residential and nursing home in Kingston Upon Hull; The home is very clean with lovely, friendly approachable staff and management team. The residents seem extremely happy and well cared for in their home. The homemade food provided to residents looks gorgeous, with a varied and nutritious menu to suit all tastes and requirements. After visiting on a few occasions over the last few weeks, I have noticed massive improvements being made to accommodate people living with dementia and the team creating a real nostalgic atmosphere for the elderly residents; including a memory corner and highlight such things as Hulls fishing history and the "good old days" of the local community which is creating a real talking point between carers, residents and their families.
My mother has lived here for fifteen years and always felt happy and safe during that time. It is such a friendly environment and the staff are always caring and compassionate. She is kept clean and well fed and her weight monitored when necessary. If ever she is ill I feel confident that the staff will not hesitate to call the doctor. There is a lovely homely sitting room with a dining area, where regular activities take place for those who wish to participate. The whole place is constantly kept in a clean and well maintained state and all the bedrooms are bright and airy. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. As my mother's needs have changed over the years they have adapted her care wonderfully well, whilst also keeping me regularly informed about everything. Some of the staff have worked there long term too, which is nice because it helps the residents to have continuity and build trust. I can therefore highly recommend West Park Nursing home.
After a short illness in hospital the doctors said my mother needed twenty four hour care . We reluctantly agreed for her to go into West Park Nursing Home for two weeks respite. This was a very difficult time for us as a family however we knew it was impossible to give her twenty four hour care to the standard she deserved. She is now staying at West Park and we know that she is safe and well looked after. The care that she receives is excellent, the staff are very respectful they all go out of their way to make everyone welcome. They treat all the residents as individuals. The meals are excellent and offer a lot of choice, plenty of snacks if required. Activities are provided for those who want to join in. My mother has Dementia and the staff are very caring and understanding. A massive thank you to all the staff.
