View Full Details of Crystal CourtOn our first visit, when we were first looking for a nursing home, we were impressed with the entrance which is very welcoming and, after a tour, we decided that we would be happy for my wife to be here. She is on the nursing dementia unit. There is significant continuity of staff on this unit which is very important. The staff become familiar faces and develop a good understanding of each of their residents. The staff smile which to me is a definite positive, implying that they are happy with what they do. There is always a nurse on the unit. As a (daily) visitor I am made welcome. Management are readily accessible and are happy to discuss any issue and do listen to suggestions. I am always happy to recommend Crystal Court when asked by friends.
My first experience in reviewing this care home proved to be good. Most prominent was the three levels of care and the segregation of the units for the residents. After further experience, some areas of care have proved to be better than expected, whilst others are still good.
Very happy with Crystal Court. All staff are professional and very friendly with residents and visitors. My husband is always well looked after and the staff interact with the residents and visitors.
My mother has been in Crystal Court for around 7 years. Over the years there have been lots of problems, some resolved and some ignored. Over the last few years, the quality of care and cleanliness have deteriorated. I spend most of my visit cleaning and organising her clothes that have just been stuffed in drawers. However, the incident that has prompted this review is the fact that for the last 3 weeks, mum has had no working call button in her room and she is paralysed and has no other means to call for help. We reported this to staff 3 weeks ago and still nothing has been done. There are some lovely staff that work there, but unfortunately i have been left feeling deeply disturbed that mum has had to sit banging her remote control on a table to try and get attention. Nobody should be treated this way.
My mother moved to Crystal Court from another care home. Each time we have visited the staff have been very welcoming and reassuring. My mum looks very well cared for and clean and happy. She has dementia but seem calm. Her room and the general areas are spotless. An activities lady introduced herself and was doing creative things with residents. We are pleased all round.
Right from the first visit the management and staff were thoughtful and caring. We were shown a lovely room in the new wing and immediately knew it would be right for Mum. (We also looked at an older room and there was absolutely nothing wrong with it). Mum was discharged from hospital to Crystal Court as a resident and immediately settled in, enjoying the food, activities and companionship. In fact I can honestly say I hadn't seen Mum enjoying herself so much for a long time.Sadly after a few weeks Mum was taken ill again and passed away. The day she was taken ill she was immediately looked after and transported to hospital and after she passed the management of Crystal Court showed compassion and allowed us time to collect her things from her room. This was the second time our relatives have lived at Crystal Court and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the care home to someone looking for a place for loved ones.Thank you all at Crystal Court, including the residents who welcomed Mum!
I cannot express enough gratitude for the care my mum received at this nursing home during her final weeks. The home manager was incredibly compassionate, listening to my concerns and providing us with a selection of available rooms to choose from. This thoughtful approach meant the world to me, as I wanted her last moments to be filled with dignity and respect. One nurse in particular and her amazing team went above and beyond-they were always available, responding to my calls, and ensuring my mum was comfortable. I was able to stay by her side throughout her remaining days, thanks to their transparency and reassurance. The level of care, compassion, and understanding from the staff gave me peace of mind during such a difficult time. I truly believe my mum couldn't have been better looked after, and I will forever be thankful for the support and kindness we received. This home is a remarkable place for anyone needing care in their final days.
My Mother went to Crystal Court for 7 weeks of respite care whilst her home was undergoing repairs. To my knowledge, she was well cared for during her stay.
I find Crystal Court to be a welcoming, loving, caring home. The staff always show that each resident is special to them and always tries to help and please when the situation can be difficult. Communication - some senior staff are slightly better than others but on the whole, it is good. On the whole, I would recommend the home to anyone.
Very good care in respite - only 1 month - calm presence, welcoming staff, understanding of Mum's situations. Very pleased!
My wife was a resident at Crystal Court for 4 and a half years until she died last week. She was greeted with care and dignity and never failed to appreciate the care and friendships she always received. The care my husband has received is excellent. All the staff and management caring and keeping my husband safe are compassionate extremely caring and always have time to listen and help with any concerns. I am always kept up to date with any concerns about my husband usually by phone or when I visit. The home and rooms are lovely and clean and all staff are very friendly including maintenance and cleaning staff. I would certainly recommend this home to anyone. It took me a while to accept my husband needed more care than I could give him and the staff were so good knowing I was upset would ring me to let me know my husband had settled.
On my first visit to Crystal Court with my daughter, I was struck by its warm welcoming atmosphere. I liked the building, the rooms, and the garden. All in all, I was very happy with what I saw. The care home is very clean, warm and welcoming. The staff, especially the manager, friendly, helpful and patient. My husband is well cared for and although bedbound always looks comfortable and above all I know he is safe.
Mum was at Crystal Court for 22 months. During her time there she was well looked after by the hardworking staff. They all knew Mum's name as I wheeled her around the care home in her chair, which meant a lot. The staff are very kind and caring and treated Mum with respect and dignity.
My sister-in-law is always treated with respect and dignity. Beautifully cared for. The staff are always approachable and pleasant with time to talk. My dad was on the Alzheimer's floor. He was happy, well cared for and always clean. The staff were all diligent, caring and approachable. On the night he died, we were given every support and comfort. All was calm and respectful.

I am a mental health nurse and an Independent Mental Capacity Assessor and I visited one of your residents to carry out a capacity assessment and act as certificate provider for her LPA. The lady in question has communication difficulties and I was helped enormously by your activities co-ordinator. She showed great kindness to the resident and it was clear that she knew her really well and cared about her. She was also very skilled in being able to communicate with the resident and knowledgeable about what mental capacity entails. You must be very proud to have her on your team.
After a settling-in period, my wife now has a new home and she is happy, which makes me happy. The manager and her team are exceptional. Full marks.
All the staff, nurses, carers, manager and maintenance team are very organised and efficient but with an extremely caring and happy nature.
