View Full Details of Hampden HouseMum was so well looked after by all the staff at Hampden House, who dealt with her needs with care and compassion. She loved looking out from her room onto the lovely gardens and my dad especially enjoyed his afternoon tea and cake when visiting her daily. I will always be grateful for the dignified way she spent her last months. Thank you.
My friend was very poorly and needed end-of-life care. She was kept pain-free and treated with care and compassion and I, and her relatives, were kept informed at all stages with kindness and understanding. Thank you for all your support.
Mum was always cared for with dignity and respect. The gardens were beautifully kept with hanging baskets outside the windows. Mum enjoyed sitting in the gardens under her sun umbrella. Mum was able to be signed out and taken into Harrogate to local cafes and restaurants when relatives came if she wanted. We felt really confident that we had chosen the right place for her.
Excellent care, staff very obliging and caring. My mum is safe, well cared for, happy living here. Any concerns I have as her daughter are dealt with quickly and efficiently.
From the first phone call to our last day, the staff and support we and my aunt received was excellent. I lived four hours away and I was always comforted to know that my aunt was safe and supported at all times and I was kept up to speed with how she was, which was a great comfort to me. I got to know the staff really well and they knew who I was too. Overall experience was excellent.
The most welcoming, hard-working and friendly team are here at Hampden House! My Granny was no longer safe living independently at home and now needs some assistance with everyday personal tasks along with some social engagement and companionship. Hampden House has delivered on all of the above and she is settling well. The staff are so helpful and the rooms and laundry are kept to a high standard. I have been particularly impressed with the social engagement team and the activities that are on offer to my Granny should she choose to participate. Thank you all so much for your warm welcome and all you do to ensure our loved ones are safe and most of all happy in your care.
They made me feel very welcome all the staff were nice. Lovely place, clean and tidy, they were very helpful with my daily needs.
Overall satisfactory and apart from one day (Tuesday) the meals were good although limited choice. My room was a good size and clean on arrival but no cleaning of my room or ensuite was done during my week's stay. No activities or services were offered, I had to ask for everything. Most of the staff were pleasant, polite and respectful. The person who helped me to have the one bath I had, was excellent. One person refused to wash my hair, saying that it was the hairdresser's job, but another did wash my hair later. I did mention a recliner chair, to ease leg pain but nothing was offered. The laundry service was good, though some items were lost.
Hampden House was chosen by us after extensive research and visits to alternative care homes and we as a family couldn't be happier with the care provided. All staff have proved to be kind, courteous and helpful at every level and the atmosphere is welcoming most importantly our mum is happy to call Hampden House her home.
I was only a resident for one week - but this enabled me to get back on my feet! So thank you, everyone.
Everything was quite good but certain staff were not trained to care or make beds. Some staff were really thoughtful need heating night and morning. I have sat cold, they bought me a blanket. Worst things are the beds. I am allergic to rubber and sweat every night.
I needed care following spine surgery. At short notice Hampden House provided exactly what I needed. I felt the staff were friends with each other and this made for a lovely atmosphere - which I benefitted from very much. Thanks to all.
A caring and compassionate sanctuary. My mother who is now 101 has been here for several years is content here and for the rest of the family. It is a solace and reassurance to know she is secure and well looked after.
Having experience of several nursing homes over the past year, I was very relieved to find Hampden House. The home has a wonderful, welcoming family feel about it, and there is always some activity going on. The residents are treated with utmost respect and the staff seem happy and enjoy their work. The quality of care provided for my mother who has complex needs has been exceptional. She is safe, comfortable and happy in her new home. Any concerns raised are dealt with immediately by the management who are approachable and have ensured my mother's needs have been met. This is a wonderful care home which feels like home.
Excellent on all levels, from the point of assessment and assistance in encouraging the transfer from home to the care facility all the was through to support at the time of my father's passing. The humanity displayed at all times was unfailing, the care and dignity preferred was unstinting and made the process more positive than I could have helped for.
Not enough staff.
Hampden House suffers from its age. Some things are missing that are available in newer facilities - showers in rooms, dining facilities newer and more moveable. The gardens are lovely and outside seating areas very pleasant and comfortable. When I stayed here some six or seven years ago the bar was more lively and popular for pre-dinner drinks. The staff try hard - maybe the clients are to blame!
Very impressed with Hampden House. Would have no hesitation in letting my mother return for future stays. Activities: my mother was reluctant to leave her room as is very nervous about her toilet needs.
Came in after a spell in hospital for respite care, was feeling very fragile and unwell, after three weeks in Hampden House I am returning home and feeling so much better. The staff, all the girls, have been delightful always being willing to help or make you comfortable and at all times. The chef has brought back my appetite. I have enjoyed every meal with plenty of choice. This is a miracle as I have not had any appetite even before hospital! Very many thanks. Hope to return for more respite care - holiday pick me up!
Staff always willing to respond to worries/queries for relatives living at a distance. Their care for my cousin was obvious, many going to extra mile to encourage their participation in the excellent programme of activities. The home itself, its gardens, its welcoming dining room (where we could join my cousin for meals) and library, conservatory, huge lounge with her facility we are all top-notch.
