View Full Details of Rosedale Nursing HomeMy mum has been in Rosedale since April. She was moved from a care home in Darlington where she was very unhappy. She is now much happier and settled. The staff are all lovely and kind and take great care of my mum. They are very understanding and compassionate and nothing is too much for them. She is treated with dignity and respect. The rooms are lovely and clean and the food is very good. They also provide snacks if requested. Hairdressing and chiropodist services are also available. They have a great variety of entertainment but my mum doesn't mix very much but with encouragement from the carers she will sometimes go down and join in which she really enjoys. I would highly recommend this care home if you are looking for somewhere for your loved ones.
My wife has been in Rosedale Nursing Home for the last five months and has been very well looked after by all staff and because of the excellent care has made a very good recovery from a serious fall.
My treatment and care at Rosedale has been excellent from entering the home and for the last 5 months and has been good for my recovery from a nasty fall.
My partner spent her last three weeks at Rosedale Nursing Home. Sadly she passed away there on the 4th of March 2024. She was looked after in a caring and compassionate way by excellent staff at all times. She was always kept clean and treated with dignity.
Staff are very kind and caring and looked after Mum for 3 weeks before sadly passing away. They were always patient, attentive and loving towards Mum. Thank you all.
Rosedale has 2 parts - the Nursing Home section, for more dependent patients, which is in the old vicarage building, and the Residential section for more independent residents which is in 'The Lodge', a modern, separate, purpose-built building in the grounds. My Mum was in the Lodge, and the review is about that residential building, not the Nursing Home. After visiting several residential homes in the area, my Mum then aged 92, immediately loved Rosedale Lodge as it felt like a modern hotel. Mum was as sharp as a razor mentally and had nothing but praise for the staff in the Lodge. After nearly a year of superb care, my Mum had a cardiac event, and we then saw how the staff managed her terminal care - which was wonderful. The end of life plan they had drawn up with her previously was followed through to the letter. She died peacefully, pain free, and with great dignity with her family around her in her room - just what she wanted. The staff were amazing and very supportive.
The nursing home is an old building and difficult to navigate with a wheelchair. The rooms are tiny and have very limited storage and Dad has had a broken window since he arrived in April. However, the care is excellent, everyone treats Dad gently and looks after him, meeting all of his needs both medically and personally. All staff are kind and approachable. It is so reassuring to know Dad is really well cared for by such an excellent team.
I'm so glad we have moved our mum out of here. We believed it to be the best in the area, unfortunately so wrong. My mum wasn't ever happy but that was down to me spoiling her apparently. She is now dressed and doing activities every day, and even thrown her comfort blue dressing gown away, my mum is a new lady now.
This care home is very friendly. The staff try to help the residents settle in and find peace in a strange environment. They listen to any concerns and try to resolve and care for personal/medical issues that arise. Activities are wonderful. Mum is settling into the care home well. We are very pleased to have chosen this care home. Some training needs for younger/new staff on how to communicate with the elderly/poorly!
My father stayed in this beautiful home until he passed there on the 8th of August. He was a resident since before Christmas 2022. The care that he was offered was beyond satisfactory. The staff members and the manager were not only his carers but his friends, his support and his lifeline. He had dementia amongst other ailments. He was treated with respect and a positive sense of humour from everyone. His individual needs were met, and his family was always welcome. The care was supported with empathy and understanding, the knowledge of his likes and dislikes and the ability by all to just listen. As an organisation, you should be extremely proud of your employees at this centre. The manager, the twins and everyone. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness and friendship to him and to us all.
I have helped to find a safe place for a very special friend that I used to care for in her own residence. She had an awful experience when she had to put her dad into care and was very anxious about going into care herself. I feel they have gone well beyond what I had expected to make her feel comfortable and at home. She now says it was the best place I could have put her in. I personally have found them to be very helpful and nothing is to much for them. They have made it easier for her to leave her home. I cannot thank them enough for what they have done, and are doing, for her. They are just amazing.
My dad has been here for 6 months. He's more happy and stable and he gets great care and attention. We could of not have hoped for such a great care home. Thanks very much for looking after our dad.
My dad has been here since July, and I have nothing but praise for the kind, professional, compassionate care he has received. The staff have been amazing and been on hand when needed, but supported his independence and dignity. I can't praise it enough. Thank you, everyone, for your support and cheerfulness. The only reason I've put I don't know to activities is Dad chooses not to join in, but the variety available looks good.
I received excellent treatment during my stay at Rosedale lodge and was well-fed. I especially enjoyed being able to sleep whenever I felt like it. You made excellent soups, and I would have loved a bowlful every evening (6 pm) with my sandwiches. I shall return.
My mother has received excellent care during the time she has been a resident at Rosedale Nursing Home. I am truly grateful for the care given during the Covid lockdowns, although I obviously couldn't visit in person. I was able to speak to my mother via Skype. The staff are all pleasant and my mother has commented on how she likes them. My husband and I are always made to feel welcome when we visit.
Experience so fare has been very good. Family extremely happy with the setting. Staff cannot do enough for your, very helpful. If I had a small issue is that I would prefer a better meeting area when visiting. (Currently meeting in a coffee area.) The care given is second to non - really pleased.
Dad is very content at Rosedale and his room is comfortable overlooking the garden. The staff are attentive and keep me informed of any changes.
Very happy with the care my sister is getting. The staff looking after her really seem to have an interest in her and care for her even though the response may be somewhat negative or difficult due to her illness.
My mother is now a resident, the home has saved her as she caught covid whilst in Darlington Hospital in December. They have worked very hard keeping her alive really, and I speak to them everyday and be called at home should any issue come up. The staff are very polite and patient, cannot fault the level of care.
Things do change if I comment eg. no underwear or nighties and pyjamas for the past 3 weeks in her cupboard. Understand there were problems with laundry. I bought replacements and these were noted on today's visits. The staff are great - very kind towards mum and residents and seem to know her well and very gentle, caring towards her. Worked well with GP to adjust (for the better) mum's medication. Glad to see some updating in the Hollies before refurbishment of the private block (which my fee-paying mum will not be able to live in) ahead of the fee increase in April 2022. Staff need a pay rise.
