View Full Details of Amarna House Care Home - Avery HealthcareI'm very happy with the standard fo care that my partner is receiving. Very friendly staff. Food very good & cleanliness etc. I feel he is being left in safe hands.
Valetine afternoon tea party was excellent - food was quality - staff looked after all us extremely well.
My daughter fought to get her Dad into the best care home possible after mistakes were made prior to being in care, he was misunderstood and his health was deteriorating whilst the lengthy process of evaluating his needs took place. My daughter pushed forward and my ex-husband was accepted into Amarna House with his health issues, weight loss and little trust in people. It was the best decision made. He has been there for around 15 months now, he has gained weight and gained trust in the staff. The staff are all fantastic and the manager is amazing, great leadership pays off. The manager and her team, keep a lovely clean home, greet all the residents with a hello and their names and are gentle and encouraging with them. The gardens are safe and secure for the residents to enjoy. Entertainment is put on for the residents on a regular basis. My daughter would not want her Dad anywhere else and I'll second that. Well done team Amarna.
Attended excellent garden part on (pirate themed) staff all dressed in excellent pirate costumes. The food and entertainment was exceptional. Staff couldn't have been more attentive. Residents, including my husband, who couldn't or didn't want to venture outside were well cared for. Everyone had a wonderful time, and the weather was even good. Thank you to all who made this wonderful for all who attended. Special thanks to the kitchen staff for the excellent food.
My husband has Alzheimer's. He has been a resident at Amarna House for 6 months. I am lost in admiration for the staff. I believe they have given him a sense of security, which he badly needed. Their consistent, gentle care has made him feel safer in his bewildering world. He has gained weight, again needed, and is physically well. I feel that care and support from all the staff, not just care staff, at Amarna House has given us the peace just to enjoy our time together.
I would like to thank all the staff for looking after Mum in her last weeks. Going home after visits was a huge weight off knowing Mum was really cared for when you are not there, and you feel as though you want to do more but you can't. Forever grateful to all the staff for making Mum's last days as comfortable and as peaceful to her passing. Thank you all the staff.
Cannot thank the staff at Amarna House enough. They have compassion, care and spirit in all of them. We feel very safe leaving our mother in the care of these people as we go back abroad. The manager is exceptional and leads a fantastic team. I am a nurse myself and cannot fault anything. Keep up the good work team.
The St Valentine's afternoon tea was a happy occasion made enjoyable by the friendly caring attitude of the staff involved which fostered a relaxed atmosphere. The room and tables were decorated appropriately and the presentation and quality of the food was impressive. Individual needs were catered for and gifts with cards given out. Tributes should be paid to all involved in organising the event, for their attention to detail and awareness and varying needs.
Reflecting on our family's time at Amarna House, we deeply appreciate the tireless dedication of the carers who provided unwavering support to our loved one. Despite their commendable efforts, concerns arise regarding management transparency and integrity. While the care home manager demonstrates efficiency in operations, her lack of genuine people skills is evident, and PR exercises often fall short of fostering true transparency. Annual fee increases without proportional benefits for staff exacerbate these concerns. Broken promises and a lack of honesty mar our overall experience. While we acknowledge the care provided, we hesitate to recommend Amarna House until there's a genuine commitment to transparency. We hope for improvements that prioritize honesty and uphold promises, ensuring future residents receive the care and respect they deserve. Note: on 1/9/23 the Care Home Manager stated during a meeting of five that no previous employee would ever be welcome back. No exceptions!
I have just moved my mum from another care home to Amarna House Care Home and it is the best decision I have ever made. The care home manager and her team of dedicated staff have done everything they can to ensure my mum was made to feel welcome and put at ease. I have been kept well informed about how Mum's needs are being met and myself and family members are made to feel very welcome when we visit. My mum is unable to take care of her own personal needs due to dementia and it was heartbreaking to see her declining in appearance. Even though Mum does not know who I am, I still wanted her to look like my mum as this is the only comfort I can get and Amarna has given me that back. Mum always took pride in her appearance and had high hygiene standards and Amarna staff are going above and beyond to ensure Mum looks well presented and clean and this makes me extremely happy as I know this is what Mum would want if she could speak. Thanks to all the team at Amarna for your hard work.
My aunt recently moved into Amarna House for a respite stay. Amarna House changed my perception on care homes and I am delighted with every aspect. There is a warm welcome throughout the home, great activities, good hearty meals and the cleanliness is remarkable. Amarna House is a very homely place with a great manager and fantastic staff in all areas.
I visit Amarna House Care Home twice a week to visit my neighbour, who I looked after. It is always nice to see the smiling faces of the staff and also how clean it is. They do a lot for the residents, playing music and games, and also put on themed days, which are very good indeed. Everyone comes together, all enjoying themselves. I was at the Halloween party on Tuesday, which was absolutely brilliant, and the food that was put on was exceptional. I danced with some of the residents who all thoroughly enjoyed it, looking forward to the Xmas one. All staff and visitors dress up and look the part. Keep it up.
My stepmother died at Amarna House Care Home - Avery Healthcare in October 2023. She had been a resident for over three years. I was impressed by the care given to her over that time. She developed warm relationships with staff and was clearly delighted to see them when they came into her room. They knew her well and anticipated her needs, even though she had difficulties in expressing them. She was contented and staff were always friendly and helpful. She enjoyed her room with its view. Though not mobile, she delighted in the birds and in the garden. Staff would take her to the garden. A good feature of Amarna House is the continuity of staffing. We would see the same staff and my stepmother could form good relationships, essential for dementia patients. Unlike other care homes I visit, Amarna House has a calm and contented atmosphere. A final, thoughtful touch. When she died unexpectedly in her sleep, the staff laid her out beautifully in her own clothes with a religious symbol that they knew mattered to her.
My dad was admitted to Amarna House care home about one week ago. The staff are lovely and very professional. The manager is amazing. Thanks to her, I feel like my dad couldn't be in safer hands. She is very fair and professional. He has gained trust in her due to her professional nature. The home is very, very clean and friendly.
I like to visit my friend regularly and have always found the staff so very friendly, caring and helpful. Very impressed with the standards and care given.
Excellent staff, high standards, excellent facilities.
Very nice care home. Very clean, smart, tidy and well-kept. Staff very caring and have great personalities. Would recommend it to anyone who needed a good care home.
My mother has lived at Amarna House for four years now. She is content in her surroundings and relaxed when I visit her. The care team coped well during the pandemic and utilised PPE with guidance from their manager with great success. On one occasion my mother was hit by another patient and the care team rang to inform me. I was shocked to see the extent of bruising on her head. They did put in an action plan to keep the residents separate. It's not happened since.
On making the hard decision to put my mum into a care home (especially during a pandemic) I cannot express my thanks enough for the care and dedication that all the staff at Amarna gave my mum. After a month my mum came alive again. Chatty, witty and back to how she used to be. Her humour and laughter shone. It was the right decision and the right setting for my mum. They listened to me and to my mum (even though she had dementia) and they couldn't do enough for us. They had regular activities and took them in the grounds on sunny days which my mum loved (sitting with a drink). Highly recommend.
Encouraged to make the room their own. Always easy for relatives to talk to a relevant carer. The manager is accessible and appears to know her residents, working on the units and also night shifts. Visits easy to arrange and covid secure. All front-of-house staff friendly and welcoming.
