I am a resident here at Barchester Meadowbeck Care Home, I am very happy living here. The staff are wonderful, very friendly. My family think I am well placed in my forever home. I have made lots of friends here and I got involved in all the lovely activities, I love that I can continue with my passion for baking and Scrabble club, seeing children visit us here at the home and church groups. My family are able to enjoy a meal with me.
A wonderful care home, very welcoming in every way. I dine with my wife during the week. A good assortment of varied activities.
I visit my friend most days and I always feel very welcome on arrival. I often join the events here and the residents are always coming, not forgetting the staff. I have enjoyed the events and had Christmas Day lunch also. May I add that the meals are very well cooked.
Mum has been in Barchester The Meadowbeck Care Home over two years now. The staff there are all lovely and helpful. She likes that she can have hair done weekly. Most days there are activities which she likes to take part in, especially the singing ones.
My sister-in-law spent her final months here, and the care she was given was amazing. From start to finish, she was treated like a queen. Family coming to visit were always greeted with a smile. The nurses and carers work so hard, and nothing is ever too much trouble. Great facilities and a welcoming feeling every time you walk in - amazing.
The staff are kind and I am always greeted with a smile and greeting from everyone. My husband is confined to bed and slightly confused so takes part in no activities but enjoys his food.
This care home is run, maintained, and operated just how a care home should be. With excellent fully trained dedicated staff. Nothing is too much bother for these highly motivated individuals. If you are looking for a care home it can be a very daunting bewildering challenge. This care home keeps you at ease that your loved one is getting the care they need and deserve. I cannot praise enough the activity department who every day provides the stimulation that is required Truly brilliant.
My mum has been a resident here for over three years and she couldn't receive better care anywhere else. The entire team at Meadowbeck clearly genuinely make every effort to ensure her needs are met. She's always well turned out and beautifully dressed. Detailed thought goes into her care to ensure she's comfortable, well looked after and happy. As a relative I'm always made to feel welcome and very much part of her team. Thank you everyone at Meadowbeck for everything you do and all the extra miles you go for your residents.
Good care for residents. Staff are always helpful and friendly. Cheerful atmosphere within the home.
She came into Barchester The Meadowbeck Care Home because of recurring stays in hospital but because of the care and support here, she has taken on a new lease of life.
My brother was transferred here from the hospice, and initially, I was worried. However, there was absolutely no need to be as he received pain medication on time and was never in pain. He was very comfortable and safe under the auspices of the unit manager and all the staff. I do mean all staff, from the manager to the cleaners, all were excellent. There is a nice atmosphere, and it's very welcoming with lovely rooms and food. All staff are very friendly and seem to genuinely care for their residents. Thank you all so much for what you did for my brother to make his last few weeks enjoyable, safe, comfortable, with dignity and pain-free.
I recently wrote a review regarding my mother-in-law giving an overall 5 stars. Unfortunately, my mother-in-law passed away on the 12th of March at 8:45. The care through the night leading to her passing the next day was dealt with, with such care and respect both for my mother-in-law and for the family members who stayed with her to the end. The nurse who was in charge of the night shift, whom we had never met, gave the family so much support which lasted all through the night to the last minutes of her shift, the quality of care she gave my mother-in-law, respect, and dignity was amazing. When the day shift came on, the same quality of care for the family and my mother-in-law carried on. My mother-in-law's passing was so peaceful, we are so grateful for the quality of care not only my mother-in-law received but also the family got from the staff on memory lane.
Our experience has been a very good one overall. The carers activity coordinator the food has all been to a high standard. We find the staff very caring and professional. I think having a bigger toilet area with shower facilities in their room would be an advantage for family members to be able to assist with personal care for their loved ones. The entertainment is excellent all in all a very nice comfortable place.
The staff are lovely, caring, great to the residents, friendly and happy, they make you feel at home, our mother is a resident, she is in excellent hands.
My mother has been at Barchester The Meadowbeck Care Home for almost four years, when she was admitted during Covid-19 and was end-of-life. Visiting today, my mother said for the first time in years that she feels very well! The care and attention are excellent, a family and homely atmosphere. The activities manager is brilliant and the range and extent of things residents can enjoy are excellent. She never stops thinking of creative, fun and enjoyable activities in the daytime and evening too! An example of best practice for other homes to copy. Thank you to everyone.
I cannot praise the staff at Barchester The Meadowbeck Care Home highly enough for the care they gave Mum. She only had a short time there, from December to the end of January, but she felt happy and safe. Although Mum was ill, she rallied enough to really enjoy many of the activities which were organised several times a day with something for everyone on offer. The staff were super kind and friendly and we felt welcomed into 'Mum's home' each time we visited. A big thank you to all the staff for doing such a great job at Meadowbeck!
My wife has been a resident now for just over a year and I can honestly say she has received excellent care and has been treated with dignity and respect by everyone. Having visited every day I have got to see a lot of what goes on in the home. The atmosphere is very friendly, the entertainment laid on is very varied and the food is mostly of a good standard. I would like to thank all the staff for making it such a friendly and welcoming place to visit.
Since my mother moved into Meadowbeck (she has now been there 2.5 years) she has come on leaps and bounds. What a brilliant home she is in! The staff are fantastic and cannot do enough for the residents. They always have a smile on their faces, the food served is excellent and the entertainment is above and beyond. What can I say? When I am older I am moving in! Thank you Meadowbeck for all you do for my mum.
I am a regular visitor at Barchester The Meadowbeck Care Home as I am a volunteer for therapy dogs and we visit the residents and staff fortnightly. Each time Ted and I visit, we receive such a warm welcome from the activities coordinator and the rest of the staff team. The residents love saying hello to Ted and give him lots of cuddles and fusses. In return, Ted brings comfort and lots of smiles to the residents. Therapy dogs are great for social and emotional interactions and give great opportunities for residents and staff to open up, chat and reminisce about old times. I would definitely recommend Meadowbeck, it’s a lovely place.
