View Full Details of Dene Park HouseI have been in residence at Dene Park House for just over one year. During that time I have always been looked after most satisfactory as regards health and well being. I have always said since arriving here that I really like it here and would quite happily stay here until I die. "Enough said"
I have limited knowledge and experience of care homes but have been pleasantly surprised at the excellent level of care and commitment shown by all the staff. In particular the nursing/care of the staff who daily/nightly see to all the needs of my relative which at times has been extremely challenging for them. The staff and management have always kept me and other family members fully informed of my relative's welfare and health. All in all, excellent!
Since Mum has been here, she has settled in well. Staff are all lovely, very kind, caring and attentive. Nothing is too much trouble. Room nice and personalised it. Very happy with the care received.
I have nothing but gratitude and respect for the Dene Park team. They have looked after my mum so well over the years and have been so patient and kind. It is time to move on, as my mum's needs have increased. I would just like to thank all the team, especially three members of staff in particular. I have witnessed the person-centred and caring approach adopted to all residents. I would be happy to be involved in any further feedback.
My mum has been in this care home for almost three years. The first year was difficult due to covid. There have been a few changes in staff and management but there seems to be a good team there now. The carers are all amazing and deserve medals. As with all care homes, it’s a pity there aren’t more staff on better wages because they deserve every pound. It is time the government realised their worth and helped the care system to help out the NHS. Friends of mine who have visited with me have also praised Dene Park House as a very caring home.
Since the new manager was appointed, there has been an improvement. She appears to genuinely want to improve the home. There are more activities, regular relatives meetings have been organised and my mum is encouraged to get out of bed daily and has more interaction with staff and fellow residents. There is still room for improvement in terms of communication, I recently arrived for a visit and found out on arrival that there was a Covid outbreak and visiting was restricted. Surely it would have been prudent to send an email to each resident's family to let them know about this. I was also alarmed to discover that my mum had been subjected to a deprivation of liberty safeguards assessment without my knowledge that the referral had been made.
My mum has been in Dene Park House for 3 years. The care she receives is of the highest standard. She is treated as an individual and all of the staff know her and are receptive to her needs. Dene Park House has had its issues in the past with regards to managers changing on an ongoing basis. This has now been rectified and the improvements in how well the home is being run is a reflection on the excellent stable management team that are now in place. I would personally like to thank all of the hardworking staff at Dene Park House who care for my mum on a daily basis. I am lucky that I can visit her daily however when I am not there I am reassured by the updates I receive from the staff around how she has been throughout the day and the conversations they have been having with her. I would not hesitate in recommending Dene Park House for your loved ones.
It feels like home, it’s a friendly environment and my Mum receives excellent care. Most of the staff have worked at Dene Park House long term and feel like an extended part of our own family. My Mum is happy living here and feels her needs are well met.
Unfortunately, both my mother and father have recently had to go in to care. We researched and visited several homes and decided that Dene Park House was the best fit for their care needs. I would like to thank the team for the outstanding level of care that they deliver day in, day out. Some staff deserve a special thank you as they have kept me well informed about how my parents are doing during this transition period. I could thoroughly recommend this care home and brilliant team for your loved ones.
My dad has been at this home for over two years now. In that time, I've seen a lot of different managers come and go. The current manager is the best one since my dad has been there. My dad's needs are quite complex, where in the past, I've had problems and worried if it was getting done correctly. I've now got full confidence in the staff in doing this. All the staff are very friendly and work really hard at their jobs. I've marked the activities are very poor, but I believe once we are out of this pandemic, the manager will be looking to improve this.
Dene Park looked after my Aunt so well. Nothing was trouble. Communication between myself and my aunt was fantastic. Lockdown was hard but Dene Park made sure we were kept informed at all times. Staff made sure we had facetime calls numerous times a month. All staff are so caring and attentive. Activities need addressing.
My dad was with Dene Park Care Home for only a couple of months before he sadly passed away. Unfortunately, he died of covid-19 causing complications with his dementia during the second peak of the pandemic. As we were unable to visit, the staff at all levels were kind, considerate and nothing was too much trouble. They ensured dad got the food he liked and we could speak on the phone until he lost his power of speech, so we knew he was being cared for. The staff organised a photograph of the residents. So we have a special festive reminder of him on his last Christmas which we will treasure.
Went to see my auntie and the care she receives is excellent.
In March 2019 I decided to look for some residential care for my mother who was 95 and finding it more difficult to live independently. I looked at 6 homes and the decision to choose Dene Park House in Gosforth was an easy one. I was given a tour of the home and I was really impressed with the friendly staff, clean premises and comfortable rooms. My mother settled in well and it wasn't long before she knew everyone and was taking part in activities. I cannot praise the staff at Dene Park highly enough. The care my mother received was first class. The staff not only cared for her but brightened her day, encouraged her and lifted her spirits if she was feeling a little down. There was always plenty of laughter and positivity around the place and my mother felt at home. Family and friends who visited also felt at home and were always welcomed. I am so grateful that I found the right place for my mother and will be eternally grateful to the staff at Dene Park House.
I must praise the staff at Dene Park for keeping all residents safe during Covid-19. They have done everything in their power to let residents see family. I cannot thank the staff enough for looking after my mother.
Communication regarding visiting during covid could have been better. Some staff are extremely helpful and friendly, this often determines my mother's mood as to which staff are on duty. When I was visiting the home pre-covid, the kitchen/bistro/coffee/tea facilities were poor. More could be made of the conservatory and outdoor space.
Management staff always very professional, accomodating when visiting.
My mother moved into Dene Park House last May 2020. She has got a new lease of life. The care she gets in there is 100%. I'm so happy, just to see how my mother is! Clean, smart but most of all, a smile back on her face, keep up the good work! I would also like to say my mam's carers are absolutely amazing. I met a couple of them when I had an outside visit, can't wait until I can come and see my mam again.
I have always found this care home extremely well run. Staff are very helpful with queries. The standards seem very good in my opinion.
My mother has been in Dene Park House since February 2019. I have nothing but the highest praise for the "treatment" my mother is receiving on a daily basis. Since her arrival, she has improved just due to the care she receives and that includes me, as her daughter.
