View Full Details of Kenton ManorI have found all the staff from Management to Domestic staff to be very helpful and supportive, especially when my Mother passed, they were there for me in every way. I cannot fault this Care Home in any way.
My Mum is the longest-standing resident in Kenton for 13 years now and we cannot fault it. The staff are amazing, always going above and beyond. They treat every resident as an individual and make the effort to get to know them, their likes/dislikes, their history, and their family members. The staff go out of their way to make family members feel welcome and the newly refurbished family area is great. The staff provide regular updates which is reassuring and are always available for questions and queries. The regular family meetings are a valuable source of support and a way to provide feedback. Mum loves it there; activities, events, the hairdresser and activity coordinator - it is stimulating, a positive environment, and always something to entertain, for all tastes and abilities. We as a family feel very reassured that Mum is being looked after, being kept healthy, secure, safe, and clean - we couldn't ask for more. The staff who really take pride in delivering the best care possible is impressive. Thank you.
My Mam has been in Kenton Manor for under 2 months mow and I am happy with the staff and the home.
Mam is so happy at Kenton Manor and has been since she moved there in 2022. Our family visits regularly so we know the management team and staff really well. They are loving and caring towards Mam and give us regular updates if any changes in her behaviour or when she is unwell. The carers are all permanent staff now so we have a good relationship. Dad was well known too as he visited Mam most days and he always got a lot of attention, which he loved. Dad suddenly passed away on 13th December and the home have shown us all so much love. Mam doesn't know as it's kinder not to tell her. We visited Mam tonight and she looked beautiful in her new PJs. We sang together with the staff and residents watching the music channel. Thank you everyone at Kenton Manor for helping my family get through this difficult time.
Mum was in Kenton Manor as her mobility had deteriorated and her needs could no longer be met where she had been living. Kenton Manor appears to be mostly staffed by agency staff who do not communicate with compassion or skill to the residents. Daytime care is delivered through having all residents in the communal area so one staff member can watch many people. They refused to support Mum to stay in her room (which is her preference), meaning where people spend their day is not client-led but reactive to staff choice. I asked about fall monitors as I understand falls risks, which they refused. There were many points of care that appeared not to regard client needs or wishes. I have worked in care homes and am familiar with the moving and handling equipment. It was consistently used incorrectly and was therefore unsafe, this was despite my informing the senior staff. The room itself looked tatty, which is actually not a problem if the care is kind and safe. It was not.
My mother was a resident at Kenton Manor from November 2023 to April 2024, where she sadly died following a fall. As a family, we were never happy with the standard of care and of communication from the home but had no choice in placing her there given the lack of good nursing care available for people with her level of dementia. Despite there being some lovely committed care and nursing staff many were agency staff and we found management and the operating company to be uncommunicative and without empathy in dealing with our concerns. It was not surprising to see that the home was downgraded at the CQC inspection (around that time) and poor record keeping/transparency was cited among the reasons. We can only hope that improvements have been made for the sake of the residents although it will take more than new furniture and light fittings to make this a care home where you would willingly want your loved ones to be looked after.
My mother has been in this home for over two years, she is always happy and well cared for, the staff are always kind and very caring with everyone, the home is always spotless, neat and tidy, always a lovely warm welcome, they ring us with my mother's progress report or concern, I always come away with peace of mind. So pleased and happy about everything the care home do for my mother, a big thank you to them all.
When I go to see my wife I am always well looked after and my wife is also well looked after.
My mum has only been a resident at Kenton Manor for four weeks and so far her care has been excellent, her room and the rest of the home are kept spotless and they are kept busy with the activities.
I submitted a glowing review of Kenton Manor in May 2023. At that time, there was an amazing Deputy Manager in place who, along with other members of staff over the fifteen months that my friend resided there, suddenly disappeared. Standards in the home declined and when, in January 2024, the CQC made an unannounced inspection, I was not surprised. The subsequent CQC report downgraded the home to 'Requires Improvement'. I requested a meeting for all residents' families with the management team. This was held on 25 April and a report from the Operations Manager, received on 5 June, laid out the improvements made. When my friend died on 23 June 2024, it was clear over the preceding weeks, that little or nothing had been done. The home now recruits staff worldwide through sponsorship contracts, but they clearly have no experience of the care sector/the elderly, relevant training or qualifications. Sadly, I cannot recommend this home nor have faith in those who operate and manage it.
My husband went into Kenton Manor in March 2023 with dementia. Since being in Kenton Manor, he has received good care and attention. He found it difficult at first to settle, but with the help of the staff, he is fine now. He has a very nice room and plenty of food and drinks. The activities could be a bit better, but he seems to join in anything going.
Everyone is so friendly when I visit my cousin, she is very happy in what she calls her home. Safe and well looked after. The food is good, activities are good. Safety and security are excellent.
My mam was admitted to Kenton Manor in February 2023 and sadly passed away in April 2023. The family were so pleased that she received excellent care and support during this time. She had a lovely room which we were able to personalise, which was really important for her and us. We knew my mam was happy and content in her time there and we will forever be grateful to the staff
Amazing care home sees to all my husband's needs. Perfect staff, I can not fault this care home, right down to management. Well done.
My wife has been in Kenton Manor for four years now and all the time the staff have coped with her deterioration very well. Most staff are very polite and caring.
The resident is my cousin. Based on comments on outstanding management. Initially, my cousin was on the top floor for one month and the same comments apply. Care staff appear well trained, and the cleaners and laundry are excellent. Last 20 years my cousin has been in 3 care homes and they couldn't compare to your high standards. Thank you.
Mam has responded well in Kenton Manor. She is eating and drinking well and is always clean and tidy. She responds positively to the staff and is always happy to see them when I have visited. The staff are very friendly and helpful and obviously care for Mam very well. Our family have all made similar positive comments and are greatly relieved to know Mam is in such excellent hands.
I have been extremely happy with the care that my dad has received since moving into the home in January of this year. My dad has been poorly on a few occasions but the staff have been great, getting a GP to visit my dad and keeping me informed of what was happening with his care. Now that Covid restrictions are more relaxed, the home has put on a few lovely activities for the residents including an enjoyable Jubilee Party in Kenton Manor’s well-kept garden. The beautiful garden was a major reason why I picked Kenton Manor over other homes. I would definitely recommend Kenton Manor.
Attended VE day celebrations at the home. Dad was happy and well cared for. The afternoon was great and we were to feel very welcome.
Dad has settled into Kenton Manor very well. he is a lot happier here resulting in some lovely visits. He enjoys his meals, also peace and quiet in his room. I'm pleased with the care that's provided.
