My husband was transferred from hospital to Coble House after suffering a severe stroke two years ago. The care and attention he has received over this time has been brilliant, not just from the nurses and carers but from the maintenance lads and the domestic staff. My husband likes all the staff and is very content with his life and shows no signs of stress. I've been kept fully informed of any health issues my husband has had over the past two years and know I'll be kept fully informed should there be any further health issues. We, as a family, have no concerns about the care he receives at Coble House.
The staff at Coble House are all very professional and caring. The administrator made me feel welcome from my first visit and the place seemed bright and airy. I immediately felt it was the right place for my 97-year-old Mother following an extended hospital stay. The carers and nurses couldn't have been kinder or more friendly, both towards her and the family & the maintenance man went above and beyond to help. Although she was mostly confined to bed, she soon settled in and her mental & physical health improved. We could visit at any time and the staff were always available to talk, keeping us informed of any changes, but importantly they were also willing to listen to any of our suggestions for things that may help. My Mother decided that she didn't want to go back into hospital for end-of-life care and we are so glad that she was able to spend her last few months at Coble House, being cared for by such lovely staff who had got to know her and whom she trusted. We definitely chose the right place for her and have no hesitation in recommending it.
Mum was sadly only in Coble House for a few months. She was transferred from a care home to Coble House to receive nursing care. As soon as we arrived, we were made to feel very welcome, we were encouraged to make her room homely, put up family photos etc, It may sound daft to some - but the smell of a home is really important to me, not having that detergent smell of hospitals etc, and Coble delivered on this, with the only smells it really had was of the lovely food. As Mum started to decline, the staff at Coble were great, giving her amazing care, but also being very kind to the family - we were never stopped from visiting at any time and always felt welcome. A cup of tea, a few biscuits sounds so insignificant, meant so much, especially when it would often just arrive, (just how I liked it) without even asking. The staff were very caring and respectful, our only regret is that we hadn't been able to place Mum with them earlier.
A huge thank you to all at Coble House, they all made a very stressful time in our family's lives so much more bearable. The care and support given to my Dad was above and beyond what we could ever have hoped for. Dad was always treated with the utmost dignity and was regularly checked up on, even if it was just for a friendly chat, which he loved. The rooms were always kept clean and tidy and the maintenance man was always happy and available to help make the room more like home for the residents. I could not recommend the home more, it has an amazing manager and amazing stuff.
Our mam was discharged from the hospital to Coble House in November 2024, for end-of-life care. The staff at Coble House were absolutely wonderful. We cannot thank them enough for the loving care that they gave to our mam. They came to know her so well and absolutely nothing was a bother to them. They knew how she liked her tea and her water! We spent a lot of time with mam in Coble House and the staff was so kind to us too. The atmosphere in the home is calm and gentle. The ethos of the home comes from the “Top” down. The manager was lovely. The staff who work there are very special people. Our mam passed away very peacefully on February 11th, 2024. We were lucky to be with her. We are so grateful that Coble House was her final home. She was so well looked after. She said she was very happy there. She said to herself how wonderful the staff were. Thank you to all of the staff at Coble House. We will never forget you. We recommend Coble House to anyone wholeheartedly.
Fantastic home, the staff, and management are so nice. Nothing is a problem, so kind and helpful. The home was spotless and clean - rooms were lovely and comfortable and cleaned daily. Proper home-cooked food with proper portions and choices. Lots of activities daily. Residents smile. Thank you so much all at Coble House, 5-star care.
At Coble House, my husband was treated and looked after with sympathy, kindness, patience, and dignity. They couldn't do enough for him and nothing was a problem. The staff are wonderful and very caring. My husband's health improved so much while in their care.
My beautiful Mam was admitted to Coble House for end-of-life care. Her care was outstanding. Every member of staff treated her with warmth and dignity. The staff went out of their way to make her comfortable and she felt safe. They were very considerate to all the family allowing us to visit as often as we wished and they allowed us precious time alone with her near the end of her life. Her every need was met and the staff were always friendly and looked after Mam with respect. Our family can't thank them enough for the terrific job they did, they are all wonderful. I was a qualified nurse for 37 years and would highly recommend Coble House.
My dad moved into Coble House after a stressful period of being in and out of hospital and step-down care. We immediately knew that we’d found the right place for him, where he would be comfortable, well looked-after, and treated with dignity, respect and empathy; and so it proved. Dad received excellent care from friendly, professional and genuinely caring staff. Coble House is such a welcoming place for both residents and family members, which helped us so much during a difficult time. Sadly, Dad’s condition deteriorated further, so his stay did not last as long as we expected, but we are so pleased that he spent his last weeks in the comfortable, caring environment of Coble House.
My mother was transferred to Coble House for end-of-life care. She was welcomed warmly and settled in very quickly. The care given to her was efficient but with great consideration of her needs. All requests were met with a smile. Concern was shown at all times for her and ourselves. We could stay with her until the end in a dignified quiet environment. We can't praise all the staff enough.
My dad was put in Coble House Care Home following discharge from hospital on the 12th of September, somewhere he never wanted to be and has sadly now been made a permanent resident. Since my dad went into Coble House he has declined rapidly and is now spending his final days just being fed and lying in a room on his own. The rooms still remain undecorated and are extremely small and unwelcoming. We unfortunately had to report that his bed was soiled and unwashed for 3 days which the home did apologise for and the problem was rectified. Regarding keeping relatives informed, my 92 year old mother has been put through a very upsetting time and has been hospitalised on several occasions because they have not told her how dad is health wise. He has had 3 chest infections since being in Coble House and we were not told about any of them. I would not recommend Coble House and just wish we could take Dad home to his 92-year-old heartbroken wife.
Coble House is a very welcoming care home. Thank you. The staff are so friendly and look after the residents and their families so well. They are caring and compassionate, nothing is too much trouble. They update me all the time about how Mum is settling in. Very supportive. There is always something to keep the residents occupied. The gardens are lovely and well-maintained. The care home does not smell and is very clean. I couldn't wish for a better care home for my mum.
My husband arrived at Coble House 5 weeks ago in a very poor state following a stay at another care home. The moment we arrived we felt love, the staff are absolutely amazing, they genuinely care and nothing is too much trouble for them. They are professional, with warmth and friendliness. They make you feel that you are part of a big family. I truly wish I had moved my husband there much sooner, as he unfortunately passed away. I just want to thank them all from the bottom of my heart for making a very awful time much easier for me and my family. Coble House, you are all truly amazing.
My mother had a six-week stay at Coble House Care Home. I can’t praise the staff and care she received enough. Coble House feels like home and all residents are treated like part of the family. From the moment my mother, who has dementia, arrived she was made to feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The staff were friendly and welcoming and made what was a difficult time for us all easy. Just knowing she was happy, clean, cared for and in safe hands was such a relief. Thank you Coble House.
My mum lived in Coble House for 4 years and 2 months during which time she was bedridden. The care she received from the staff was amazing- kind, professional and above all, she was treated with care and dignity. Mum died in Coble house and the staff excelled during her end-of-life care, not only looking after her but also me.
My father was admitted to Coble House Care Home because my mum could no longer care for him. This was a huge decision for my dad and he was very scared and trepidatious. I can honestly say the care has far exceeded our expectations. I work in the care industry and understand the challenges that homes and staff face every day. My mother passed away suddenly very soon after Dad went into the home which was obviously very traumatic for him. All the other care staff could not be more helpful, gentle and supportive to my dad during this time. Yes the decor is a bit tired and he sometimes can wait 10+ minutes for staff to answer his call button but the fact that he is cared for with love and respect is far more important in my opinion. My dad is terminally ill and feels so comfortable at Coble that he has made the decision already that he wishes to remain there for his final weeks/months. I would recommend Coble House to anyone looking for carers who go the extra mile.
The room needs some repairs and redecorating. No activities have been held for some time. The cost of care in general is high. The staff and managers are rated good, they are often short-handed but work very hard to help residents.
My aunt received excellent care in the final weeks of her life. She was treated with kindness, compassion and dignity. The carers were exceptional and all involved with her care were wonderful to her. The home is clean and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. I highly recommend Coble House Care Home.
My wife has been a resident for almost seven years. My wife has been looked after with care and respect and thanks to all.
It has taken me a while to settle in the home but I'm settling well now after a spell in hospital with depression. I feel that gradually it is becoming my home and the staff my family. My health and my attitude have improved greatly and I'm happy living here.
