View Full Details of The Evergreens Care CentreMy Mam has been in Evergreens since February 2022. Her move there wasn't planned but circumstances dictated she couldn't stay at home. It hasn't been an easy journey to get her settled but we've had good support from the staff and manager. The staff definitely know my Mams needs which are at times challenging but they deal with it well and in a very caring manner. I feel confident my Mam is getting looked after well and feel quite confident to bring up issues as I feel necessary. I am told regularly my Mam is 'resident of day' and is there anything I want added to the careplan however I rarely do as these issues are usually dealt with when I raise them anyway. The staff also get to know family members and are very friendly to us as a family. There have been times when I've needed to escalate things which I have done by contacting the manager direct. I do this with confidence knowing he will deal with it and its always sorted quickly.
My experience and that of my aunt has been nothing but positive. My aunt is supported to be as independent as she can - when this at times has fluctuated then staff have changed that support to match her needs. I am kept informed of any changes to my aunt's presentation immediately so I feel reassured about her being in a care home - also she sees Evergreens as her home where she has friends and she sees the staff as friends too. I feel fortunate that she is somewhere she feels happy.
My friend took a while to settle at first, but she loves it there now. She trys to join in some of the activities and loves joining in singing. The carers are brilliant, the way they treat the residents with respect and kindness, everyone I have met since my friend moved there are very nice even with me I'm made welcome and feel at home. So to everyone who work for you THANK YOU for the care you go e to my friend.
I live in Wales and love visiting my Granma. She is very precious and I am pleased she is happy and well looked after in Evergreens. I was made welcome with my husband and baby. Sharing a laugh with all the residents and staff.
A lovely family atmosphere over the Christmas Holidays. This was the first Christmas we couldn't bring Mam out. Residents enjoyed the decorations, music, activities, and the 'no secco' to make things feel festive. The care as usual is first class, the staff looked after Mam physically but also mentally making Mam laugh.
My mother has been a resident at Evergreens since December 2023 and I'm delighted with the care she receives and can't recommend the home highly enough. All the staff I've met are wonderful - very caring, friendly and professional and always cheerful and welcoming - nothing is ever too much trouble. The two activities coordinators always ensure a wide variety of regular activities are available and encourage residents to get involved, and the catering staff do a fantastic job providing good home-cooked meals - Mum has regained her appetite and put on weight since she arrived. It's reassuring to know she's safe and being well looked after, and has plenty of company and things to do if and when she wants. The home itself has a lovely 'family' feel, the bedrooms are clean and comfortable and the extensive garden is a big plus, especially in the summer. Many thanks to all the staff for the care and support they provide.
We were recommended The Evergreens Care Centre by friends of the family who had their own relative there last year. They told us the care was outstanding and we agree. Ever so happy with the care our father received.
My gran has been in The Evergreens Care Centre for a few months now and I can't say a bad word about the staff. Even if anything has gone wrong, the manager listens and responds quickly to resolve things. My family are made to feel welcome and never feel like we can't ask questions. Nothing is too much bother. The home is always clean and smells clean too. It is homely and has a friendly atmosphere. Most importantly of all, Gran is happy and looks well and it's easy to see she is well cared for and the staff actually care about what they are doing and have a lot of pride. It's so reassuring for me and Mum to know that Gran is in good hands. Thank you so much to you all.
I am the daughter of a resident and happy to use this care home we had our mam in 3 years ago. Now the family have had no choice but to put Dad in this care home after his discharge from hospital was full-time care. The staff are amazing and Dad is well looked after and is settling in nicely, knowing he is in a safe place and well looked after. Keep up the good work to all the staff. They work really hard to make our relatives comfortable and happy, great to see some of the staff still there from when we were last there.
We as a family have used this home in the past for my mother in her dying days and everybody involved in this home was totally professional in the care they showed back in 2019. Recently we sorted care for my father and again I contacted Evergreen through a senior member of the nursing staff. The lady was so helpful and guided me through the process to make the transfer of my parent from hospital into nursing care simple, relieving the family of a lot of the stress involved. Since my parent has been in the home, the care shown has been exceptional from all members of staff involved in this home. The facilities are excellent for the residents' needs and the home is always well maintained and is always clean when entering. Never do you experience odours related to elderly care on entering due to the high level of cleanliness carried out by the staff. I want to thank all the members of management and staff for the continuous support shown and I cannot praise them enough for the care they give Dad.
My dad has had a challenging life with his health over the last 3 years, where the family has looked after him and this year he's got worse with his mobility. Incontinence has been a very stressful and challenging time and dad was sent to Evergreens from the hospital. The care dad is getting is second to none. He's getting well looked after, staff are always there when you need to speak to them and are very friendly. The home is very clean and well organised.
My Mum has been at The Evergreens since we had to make the hard decision of her requiring full-time care. Initially, she was in the residential part of the care home, and subsequently, after an illness, she moved into the first-floor nursing part of the home. Both rooms she has had have been lovely and have everything she needs. The care she has had and is getting has been brilliant and we cannot thank all the staff enough for taking such good care of her. Nothing is ever a problem and someone is always available, should we need to talk. A very well run home with excellent staff throughout and although it was a hard decision to make at the outset, it was the right one as the care Mum gets is excellent. Thank you all.
My dad was transferred from the hospital into the Evergreen care home as he was unable to care for himself. As I live in Spain, I was concerned I would have no contact with him but the staff are so efficient they arrange FaceTime calls for me. While I was home in February, they made it easy to see him with covid tests in place. I have come back to Spain knowing he is well looked after and in a good place.
Dad came to the Evergreens after a lengthy stay in hospital. The staff were immediately engaging and friendly, going above and beyond for Dad and he is very happy with the service. The management keep you regularly informed via text, email and phone call and nothing is a problem for them. A wonderful atmosphere with very happy residents. Thank you Evergreens!
My mother has been beautifully cared for. She is always clean, fresh and comfortable, as she is bedbound. The home is clean and we love the residents' doors, like their own front door with their names on.
I feel I would like to offer praise to the Cyprus suite at the Evergreens, which is the residential unit where my Mam lives. All of the staff are amazing to my Mam and I could never ask for more. I feel able to leave the home, knowing all the staff will give my Mam the best care. I can highly recommend the Evergreens to anyone looking for a home from home environment, providing the best level of care. A1 all round.
So pleased to write a review for Evergreen Care Home and their marvellous staff. I have discussed the review with my father as he also constantly sings their praises. My mother, unfortunately, is an advanced Alzheimers patient at the home. From day one we have witnessed the kindness, ‘care’ skills and genuine guardianship exhibited by all the staff. The manager is particularly meticulous and thorough in ensuring high care standards for the residents and we can honestly state that he has a fantastic team of staff who have shown Mum genuine care, compassion, attentiveness and love. A special mention for one member of staff who is happy to go the extra mile with styling/dying Mum's hair and painting her nails. Also, the lady who spends hours feeding Mum to ensure her weight is maintained at a healthy level. Mum is thriving once again since being admitted in Feb 2021 and we cannot recommend this home highly enough.
Travelled from Portsmouth to visit my Mam in October as I hadn’t seen her for over a year due to COVID restrictions and travel restrictions. My Mam had always been very content and happy in this care home for the last 3 years and even though restrictions were hard, the staff always found time to talk to us on the phone or set up face time appointments so we could keep in touch with Mam. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel valued and special and make sure that Mam was well taken care of. Our visit in October was long overdue and again the staff were so helpful, kind and caring. One nurse, in particular, made sure we were up to date with any news or how Mam was doing. It was an upsetting and emotional time as it had been so long, but to know what capable hands Mam was in made us feel so much better. Sadly, Mam passed away in January this year, but again to the very end, they sat with her and cared for her. I would not hesitate to recommend this care home.
My Mam was resident here for the last year of her life. The setting is lovely and the room was nicely decorated. The care my Mam received was exemplary. The nurses and other staff made sure she was clean, fed and comfortable. She was given additional high-calorie foods due to her condition. The kitchen staff should be proud of the part they played in helping my Mam heal. When she arrived from another care setting, she was suffering from terrible pressure sores. The nurses worked so hard to help her heal. The staff were always happy in their work and the communication was second to none. The support offered to my Dad and the whole family in the last weeks of my Mam's life was amazing. Nothing was any bother to anyone. I wish I had more words to describe my Mam's and the family's experience. I would recommend this care home to anyone. We were so lucky to find this place and I would have no hesitation in using it again if the need arose. Angels without wings!
My father was admitted into your care last August after a long spell in hospital after suffering a serious stroke. He's always been a very independent man and doesn't like people doing things for him. We lost our Mum. His wife of 52 years and it was a big upheaval for him to suddenly not be at home in his own surroundings. I'm kept up to date constantly and the staff are very helpful in setting up facetime for us, as I live in Australia, it is very hard to be so far away. I cannot fault the care my Dad is receiving and am blessed he is in such a caring environment. Nothing is too much trouble. Questions are answered quickly and professionally. Special thanks to the registered nurse.
