View Full Details of Eastside GardensThe staff are amazing! They looked after mam so well. Everywhere was very clean and tidy. There was plenty going on to keep the residents occupied. Family always made welcome. We were kept informed at all times.
We cannot fault the service and the care she has had. The staff are all friendly and accommodating and very understanding of the needs of our family member. Accommodation is suitable and has everything our family member needs. Having their own toilet has helped her keep her dignity and personal hygiene up to scratch. Great service all round! Thank you.
The staff are very friendly and supportive, the staff are more than happy to answer any questions we have. The staff support my family when we visit to and assist us in communicating with her in the best way during her end of life care. I feel that my grandmother is cared for very well and I am confident in the care she receives.
Mam is very happy here. The staff all treat her with respect and are all friendly with her. Family and friends when visiting. We have no issues.
My auntie says that everyone is very lovely. She thinks the staff should know that they are amazing and she loves staying here. I am very happy with my aunties care.
My Mum has always spoken very highly about the care she has been receiving over the last year. We have always been kept informed of any issues and hope this level of care continues.
Please, please do not send any of your relatives to this care home! I have had to stay positive about this care home for my sister but unfortunately, I cannot any longer. I walked into this building tonight to collect my sister's things to take to hospital and didn't see one member of staff on her floor on the way in and on the way out then I went back two nights later to collect all of her belongings and that included a large TV and was not challenged by any member of staff on the way out and these were staff I had never seen before.
My husband sadly had to go into full time care which started last year the difference for me was the genuine interaction from carers to the residents. The staff never stop caring but not just for the residents they take time out to ask how I am doing. They make me feel welcome and will answer any questions I have, if I cannot visit they will phone me. The meals are lovely if my husband refuses them they will go out of their way to find something he will eat. There are drinks and snacks throughout the day too. They have entertainment coordinators that will encourage residents to join in. The cleaning staff are also amazing and they also take time to talk and care for us. The handymen have been in my husband's many times as he has a tendency to take things apart they are lovely with him. All office staff and management are also so friendly and again there if you have any concerns. I would like to thank each and every one of you including the laundry staff and kitchen and hairdresser.
Mam has been a permanent resident at Howdon Care Centre since last October and the care she receives is excellent. The staff are attentive and nothing is too much trouble. They always make time to chat with her and make her feel like a member of the family. The communication from the home is very good and I'm informed immediately of any issues relating to my Mam. Overall excellent service and care.
Mam has been at the care home as a permanent resident for 6 months now. She is well looked after and it's a relief to us as a family that she has settled in well. From what I observe the staff are very kind and caring.
My mam has been in this home for a good while now and in that time she has been looked after very well. Every time I visit, she is always clean, tidy and well-dressed. She is very happy and gets on with the staff very well. Every time I telephone the home to find out how she is, nothing is too much trouble for them. They keep me informed of mams well being and if she needs anything. The staff are always very polite and friendly. I find it feels like a family atmosphere which is very nice. The home is clean and tidy. The activities are very good. My mam likes the music and sing-alongs. The staff work very hard to make sure the residents are looked after and entertained. I would not hesitate to recommend this home.
My mother was placed in the care home for respite care. I can't fault the care she was given by the staff. They were very understanding of her needs and might too. Nothing was too much bother for them. Completely take my hat off to this profession. Well done and keep up the good work. We are very lucky in Howdon to have a place for the people of Wallsend.
My dad was placed in this care centre for two weeks of respite care. He was very well looked after. He was clean and well-fed, and all the staff were lovely and attentive to his needs.
All the staff on Unit 4 have provided professional and responsive care to my mum over the past five and a half years. Her end of life care was first class and I can’t thank everyone enough for their care and support. The staff have worked tirelessly throughout Covid but took every measure possible to allow relatives to visit as quickly as they could. I would recommend this care home to anyone. Thank you again for supporting and caring for my mum throughout her stay she was happy and well looked after.
The staff are helpful at all times and keep me informed about my father's welfare. They always have his needs at high priority and have worked tirelessly at keeping the residents safe during Coronavirus.
The care provided to our family member was non-existent, creating a spiraling decline of health in a short space of time which they were ultimately unable to recover from. There was no communication, no care plan, no contact, no home from home comfort. Just nothing. Shameful, shocking, and unforgivable.
My mam is happy, the staff are all nice and friendly, they are also helpful.
my wife audi has dementia and i phone the home up 3 times a week .i get good reports from all your staff but in particular from natasha jade and peter.audi went into howden in march 2020 and in that first year i only saw her for about 5 hours so it was essential i got good communication with the home. audi has bad cellulitus and was in hospital dec 2020 and again in march this year i was so glad when i found out that audi was going back to the home from hosp. iknew she would settle among the friendly faces of your staff. it would have been upsetting for her in hosp amonst people she didnt know.before she went into your care home we had visited 9 other homes to see if they were suitable yours came out on top. since i have been allowed in to see audi i have noticed a change in her communication skills.i can understand a few of her words now.i get tested before i am allowed in and that is good for all concerned in my opinion howden care home is the best and all the staff be given extra
