View Full Details of Primrose Lodge Care HomeCare home is exactly what Primrose Lodge is! It feel like a home, where understanding and consideration is natural and effortless. The care given is genuine and tangible, but also done with fun and vibrancy where appropriate. I am so happy my dad is at Primrose Lodge, because he is happy there!
We were extremely happy with the care my father-in-law received. Although only there a short while, the care was so supportive of both parents and family. Nothing was ever a problem, so friendly and efficient.
My Dad was only at Primrose Lodge Care Home for 1 week in April 2024. He was receiving end-of-life care. We were very pleased with his stay there. The staff no only looked after Dad they also looked after us, his family. We could not thank them enough for their kindness.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful while my brother was in respite I could not fault them. I feel the home could do with a bit of an update his toilet in his room was not very pleasant and also the shower room had things hanging off and did not seem very clean.
My mother has recently settled into Primrose Lodge and I wanted to thank every single member of staff for making her feel so welcome and safe. Every day she says how nice everyone is and how happy and safe she feels. Seeing her feel so content is wonderful and I know this is down to the wonderful staff.
Overall the care levels provided by the permanent staff are good. However, the food served is repetitive and limited and the menu could be improved, especially if a particular diet is required. The residence is safe, secure and cleaned every day.
Shocked at the state of the care home when visiting a relative. The toilet seat is broken, the bed is in disrepair and soiled incontinence pads left lying around the room (under the bed etc). The TV wasn’t working and there was no there means of interaction or entertainment, my relative was just left lying on the bed. My relative had no shoes, slippers, socks or spectacles, we were told these were misplaced. I would not recommend this care home.
My mam stayed here as she was unable to stay in her own home. She recently passed away, the care she received was excellent, the staff were very friendly and very passionate towards the care they provided to the residents, and always referred to the residents by their name, Staff always had time to chat and answer any queries you may have. The home was clean and tidy. They have regular events for the residents which my mam enjoyed joining in. Will miss the staff as they were like family.
My mother was discharged here from hospital with no notice to family and little notice to the care home. Despite the worry of not being able to see the care home beforehand, myself, sister and my nephew are extremely pleased my mother is receiving. Mum has mixed dementia and unable to walk or barely sit up. She is happy, staff know her and she is is cared for the way she wants to be despite her limited abilities. We could not be happier with the care. Despite the very sad situation of mum now needing nursing care, we know she is clean, comfortable, good skin integrity and she is not eating too well, but they ensure she is eating food she loves mainly puds.
I cannot fault the care my Mum and we as a family get.
My mother seems content following isolation due to lockdown.
My husband went into Primrose Lodge care home on the 21st of February 2020. All the staff made him and our family most welcome. It was unfortunate that after only 3 weeks lockdown came. My husband wasn't eating very well so I was able for a week to go and help feed him, he has dementia and is bed bound. After that, all was locked down but with the care from the staff and their love, he started to eat again. So at this stage, he is doing well, it is hard for all of us not to visit and the staff do their best to keep us on board. Always let us know what is going on.
Staff are brilliant and the standards are very high. I am enjoying my stay here very much.
My mum was only here for four weeks. I cannot thank the staff enough for their kindness and compassion during this time. Mum received the best care and staff always had time for her and for us. Nothing was too much trouble. They held hers and our hands right to the end and beyond and for that we are extremely grateful.
My father was brought here after a long time in hospital. He loved where he was he said he was happy. I can’t thank you enough for the staff. The nurse was brilliant and friendly. He sadly passed after being only a week in Willow Lodge but I’m thankful for the nurse for being with him when I couldn’t.
I found Willow Lodge very good. Professional, clean, food was good and they took excellent care of my mum. The staff were excellent. I was pleased with her care.
The care home goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. Relaxed. Welcomed. They look after my wife with respect and the staff are pleasant at all times.
In August 2018 our dear mother was admitted to Willow Lodge in her 100th year when her needs dictated she required full nursing care. She was at 'end of life' when admitted and therefore was the only resident for a short time, during which she received a high level of nursing care and compassion. As a family, we have nothing but praise for Willow Lodge. The staff are professional, caring and highly communicative - nothing is too much trouble. We feel we made the right choice for our mother in choosing this care home.
I would just like to pass on my huge thanks to the nursing staff and care staff for the wonderful job they do at 'The Willows'. All the staff are caring, considerate and always willing to help. My mum is well looked after and we as a family have peace of mind knowing she is safe and well cared for. We are very appreciative of all your hard work.
Willow Lodge provided a homely and caring environment for my mother during the last two years. Staff were always caring and quick to respond to any needs. Her health and comfort needs were always of paramount importance to the staff.
