View Full Details of Garden Hill Care HomeOur mother in law has really enjoyed her week in this home. She came in quite withdrawn and quiet, over the week she has blossomed, taken part in activities. Can't praise the staff enough nothing a both, very friendly and caring. Always checking on her welfare making sure she had everything she needed. She has really enjoyed her meals and has said she would def come back.
Both my mam and dad have experience in this home. My mam died there in September 2024. The most awful experience in our lives was respectfully, sensitively and professionally dealt with by the staff. The staff are the home's best asset. No problem is insurmountable and my dad wanted to be in this particular care home now that he has stage 4 cancer. We as a family, cannot praise the home enough. Dad's every need is catered for and he is so happy and settled there. Yes, there are better homes building-wise in the area, but the most important thing, the care is the home's best asset and that cannot be respected enough.
Although my mother was only in Garden Hill for 4 months I would not have wanted her to have been cared for anywhere else. My mother passed away in March and the care, dignity and respect offered to her was second to none. I watched in horror sometimes how the staff were treated by residents' family and I often wondered how they tolerated it without losing their temper. Garden Hill should be very proud of what they have in their staff from the very top to the bottom.
My mam went into Garden Hill on 5th March, it was Mam and Dad's 70th wedding anniversary next day and staff did a beautiful job of helping to make it lovely and memorable for us as a family. My mam was finding it so hard to adjust to being without Dad though and staff have been excellent in helping her settle in, management have been so pleasant and helpful getting everything sorted out as we haven't a clue about it all and the home itself exceeded our expectations. It is indeed lovely. I haven't seen the food but I know Mam is happy: good not excellent.
The staff are fantastic - very attentive to my dad's needs/support. The food, however, isn't the best, my dad states (I myself haven't seen). I find the entry and exit of the care home a nightmare, this is not a fault of the staff as they have residents to attend to. There needs to be either a fob/code given to relatives to get in/out of the home 1. to not take the staff away from their duties and 2. to stop the waiting around in the doorway, sometimes up to 15 minutes.
I couldn't have wished for a better care home for my mam in the final months of her life. All the staff were absolutely brilliant in the way they looked after and cared for my mam and how hospitable and friendly they were to me and my family in my mam's final days.
Very helpful staff. The building is well-kept and easy to navigate. The residents are kept well-fed and in a warm environment.
Very happy with Garden Hill Care Home; since moving in in June 2022, has settled in very well. The staff really do a great job in looking after my wife's personal and care needs. They are also very friendly with my wife, me and the other residents.
The management and staff at Garden Hill are absolutely fantastic and the home is spotlessly clean and has a great atmosphere. Every aspect of the place is designed to ensure the residents are well catered for and treated with dignity.
The staff are excellent. Wonderful care at all times. There are activities to keep active both mentally and physically. Meals are excellent but could be served hotter. Would recommend it to other people. Respect and dignity at all times.
My Mam recently went to Garden Hill following a terminal cancer diagnosis. The support, care, kindness and compassion we received from all of the staff there was truly outstanding. My Mam was treated exceptionally by them throughout her stay and passed away with dignity. I truly believe we could not have gotten through the last two weeks without them and will always be grateful and in awe of the care, she received while in their care. They made a devastating time so much easier to cope with - thank you.
Incredibly supportive and friendly staff. Good range of activities to keep residents involved. Good choice of well-cooked meals.
Garden Hill provides a safe, secure and very caring home for my parents which in turn gives me peace of mind. Staff are professional and strive to provide a comfortable home whilst the activities coordinator provides a varied timetable of events throughout the week. Thank you everyone!
We would recommend Garden Hill to any prospective service user. The staff are very competent, approachable and give a high priority to maintaining the dignity of the residents. Our only recommendation would be to increase their staffing levels.
I find Garden Hill a very nice establishment. The staff are excellent. The rooms are always very clean. The management overall is of a very high standard and I would highly recommend to anyone.
My father has recently had a week's respite care in Garden Hill Car Home. The care he had was exemplary. The staff were all very professional in their care of him. But also very friendly. They all came across as caring and it felt that the care was as if they were looking after their own parent. There was nothing that could be bettered and nothing was too much trouble for them. The room he had was bright and airy, with plenty of space for him to walk around with his walker. The meals were so good he was ringing me on a daily basis with an update on all the beautiful meals. I could not believe it because I was sure that there would be at least a couple of complaints about the food, given he is such a fussy eater. There were none, so well done the kitchen staff. I would certainly recommend this home to anyone, without hesitation. Well done Garden Hill.
My parents have been here for 2 and a half years. Fantastic care, love and kindness. I work for the NHS, so I know what standards should be. I have high standards and they are always met by all staff here from admin, nursing, management, hygiene services and catering team. Faultless, if I have any questions they are answered, any worries they are promptly assessed. My parents are very lucky.
My mother was booked in for a weeks respite care. From the start, she was treated with affection and respect. When we collected her after her week's stay she spoke so highly of all the staff and had obviously been very well looked after, and also very well fed! I would not hesitate to book her in again next time the opportunity arises.
My husband has been in Garden Hill Care Home for almost a year now and during this time I have seen the care that the staff have given him as his condition (dementia) has deteriorated, They give him respect in spite of his negative attitude towards them. I am so impressed with the management and the improvements are excellent. My friends on visits have been impressed by the atmosphere and care and attention too.
I found the manager of the care home to be very pleasant, informative and professional in her duties although she wasn't in care for long, the carers and staff looked after her and the family excellently. On behalf of myself and the family I would like to thank all concerned for the care of my partner.
