View Full Details of Gracelands Care HomeMy mum went into Gracelands Care Home for respite in 2017. She said she would like to stay after 2 weeks of respite. She said she felt safe and was well looked after. She was there until she passed in September. Everyone from the managers to the staff and cleaners were lovely. It was my mum's home and each and every one of the staff made her feel special.
Our family were delighted with the care and dignity shown to our father during his years at Gracelands. Management kept us informed immediately on any changes in Dad's behaviour or any incidents. We honestly found the staff looked after Dad as if he was a relative and not a client and this allows the family to have massive confidence in a care home knowing he had this excellent care 24 hours a day which we could not provide. Gracelands were also a massive help to us when Dad passed and I could not praise them enough.
Gracelands Care Home has a nice atmosphere, it is very well kept, both in cleanliness and in good state of repair. My mum and the other residents, that both myself and siblings interact with, are well cared for and quite content with life. There is a good varied program of entertainment and activities for the residents, having both witnessed and joined in many times. The staff are both very friendly and approachable, regarding any issues we raise. I know quite a few of the staff on first name terms, and always converse with them all in a friendly manner, which in turn leads to a nice environment for my mum.
The staff are all friendly and try really hard to do their job to the best of their ability, but I feel there is a distinct shortage of staff. My mum has frequently had to wait long periods of time for someone to come and attend her.
Very kind, professional and empathic staff who always go that extra mile while looking after my mum. The staff are always able to keep me updated with my mum’s care and I am always reassured by this. I would have no hesitation recommending Gracelands.
Very friendly staff, we are pleased with the home. Everyone at the home looks after my Mother. Clean and tidy home. With plenty of entertainment for the residents.
Bedding always very clean and changed regularly. Always welcomed by a friendly face. Lovely home-cooked food. Mam treated with respect and dignity always. Mam's clothes always clean. Staff who go out of their way to help and assist Mam. All in all, the whole family is happy with Mam's care.
My grandma recently moved into Gracelands Care Home at the end of 2023 from home after a short stay in hospital. My grandma has dementia and has always been very independent however her illness took its toll and she was no longer managing at home. As I work in the industry I had a good knowledge of local care homes but was understandably worried about choosing the right one and if they would meet her needs and whether she would settle. As a family, we did not need to worry about Gracelands. The care home and everything about it is fantastic. The staff are caring, kind, considerate, responsive and friendly. They always have her best interests at heart and are clued up and knowledgeable to provide holistic and person-centred care at all times. I would recommend Gracelands to anybody. A family-run business with the resident at the heart of its organisation. Since arriving at the home my grandma has thrived which is amazing to see. We couldn’t ask for more.
Friendly staff, good food, warm. My only criticism was that the TV was hit and miss in bedroom. Bad reception.
Mum died 10th February. Your care of her was exemplary. You treated her with kindness and dignity throughout and my sister and I could not be more grateful. We miss her every day, but you made her 2 years in Gracelands the best experience it could be under very challenging circumstances. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Gracelands has a warm welcoming atmosphere as soon as you walk through the door. It is clean, warm, homely and comfortable. As a family, we feel comfortable approaching staff who are also happy to respond to any queries. I am also reassured by the staff's prompt action of contacting me if ever there has been an issue regarding my husband's health or needs.
When Mum needed full-time care because of Demetria, we chose Gracelands. It was the best decision we ever made for her! From the moment we arrived, my sister and I knew we had found a home for mum in her twilight years. Everyone was so friendly and caring, to us as well as mum. Gracelands is so clean and bright, cheery and welcoming. Nothing is ever too much trouble for the staff, everyone who works there are amazing. Whenever anyone passed Mum's door, they always popped in to say hello. Mum used to call the staff 'my angels' because they were so good with her. In fact, I felt they looked after her like they were all family, not just residents and caters. That for me was one of the best things about Gracelands. Mum passed in June 2020 after 3 happy and contented years. Once again everyone there were amazing and so kind and caring. My Mother-in-law is now in need of full time care, so naturally our first choice of a care home for her was Gracelands.
Gracelands have been excellent in keeping me informed about how they are responding to Covid-19. Keeping me updated as needed. The staff are so welcoming, friendly and helpful. They are always available if I need to speak to them and are happy to inform me of mum's progress, informing and asking consent for photographs to be used, for any medication which is available - e.g. consent for flu immunisation. Gracelands is a happy, friendly and welcoming residential care home. The staff are always friendly, very approachable. The staff have a very good knowledge of what care is needed and have built up an excellent, caring relationship with mum, aware of her likes and dislikes, responding appropriately with care and consideration. I feel mum has settled well, she seems happy, and relaxed. This makes me feel reassured that the staff are working to the appropriate standards and above. I would highly recommend Gracelands Care Home to other families.
My family found Gracelands Care Home to be just that - extremely caring both as an institution, and the individual members of staff! The management team were great, supplemented by the senior nursing staff and the rest of the staff, even down to the housekeeping team, everyone cared! My father had an enjoyable and supported final couple of years. His final days, in particular, were dealt with sympathetically and with compassion! I will count the team as friends for the rest of my life!
They have always been helpful and very understanding of our relative's needs. Our relative is very happy there and we know she is well looked after. They keep us well informed on anything she needs. The staff are always there to discuss if needs be.
My Mum has recently been unwell and it was a very worrying time and the staff got her through that and encouraged me to phone as much as I wanted so I rang every day and the staff were always pleasant and helpful. Mum had a swollen hand due to arthritis. It swells up very occasionally. I received a call to tell me about it and the home gave Mum pain relief and rang the GP for advice. The GP said she would prescribe some gel for Mum to be rubbed on her hand and it could be collected from the surgery the next day. Great service from the home and from the GP Surgery. When my brother and I had to break the news to Mum that Dad had passed away in March some of the staff knew we were going to tell her and we bumped into 2 of them on our way out. They asked us how it had gone and I thought it was really nice of them to ask.
Gracelands is like an extended family warm and welcoming from the moment you enter the building, staff are friendly and polite. This year is such a hard year for everyone and Gracelands have been amazing in keeping everyone safe and caring for residents well being and safety, and making the family feel as involved as possible. While choosing a care home for my gran in 2018, was the most difficult decision I’ve ever had to make. From the moment I walked into Gracelands I instantly knew it was the perfect home - so clean and welcoming, all the residents look happy. Gracelands would have so many different activities going on for family to join in. With no matter how many times you call to check on your loved one, they are happy to reassure you they are ok. I honestly cannot say enough about how grateful we as a family are for the care given by each and every member of staff - they go above and beyond.
