View Full Details of Victoria House Care CentreThis care centre has looked after my son for the past eighteen months-plus and has helped him in many ways through illness and recovery, also rehabilitation. So thank you to the manager and staff.
Victoria House Care Centre is simply amazing! My dad's been there for a few years and the staff are so lovely, Dad's just gained another family to love and care for him like we do! I would recommend them to anyone, yes it may not look as amazing on the outside as some of the newly built ones but the care is just outstanding, I think you'd struggle to find better care anywhere else!
My uncle has been a resident since November 2019. The care that is given is absolutely fantastic, especially in such challenging circumstances. The old-style building may appear off-putting but it cannot be stated how little this matters. The support provided for not only the residents but also their families makes a very difficult circumstance a lot easier to deal with. Five simple words...you're all amazing, thank you!
My wife has been in this home for six years and the care is very good. They have a hairdresser come in regularly which she likes and there are activities in which she doesn't partake in the lounge. The staff are all very good and give all the assistance they can. All in all, a satisfactory home for the residents.
My husband is very well looked after and the staff are all very welcoming and helpful to both me and my family.
I cannot speak any more highly about the amazing care that all of the staff provide to my mum. Her physical and psychological needs are met in every way, and changes are made as and when her physical needs and dementia deteriorate to ensure her needs are maintained. The nursing staff keep in regular contact updating on changes and involving me as much as they can in care planning. The care home is a very happy place - all staff will go out of their way to help and make you feel welcome. I feel reassured knowing that my mum is being looked after so well and is safe at all times. I am sure if my mum could speak she would tell them every day “Thank You”.
The standard of care my father-in-law receives is excellent. The staff have full knowledge of his needs and requirements, these are carried out with respect, dignity and professionalism. Good welcome throughout the building, not only to ourselves but also to my father-in-law when he has returned from times he has needed a hospital stay, the staff all come and welcome him back. All outside professionals comment on how well the staff know him if they need to contact the home to find more information about his needs and how he presents daily.
Very happy with the level of care my husband receives. Both staff and other residents are very kind and friendly and my husband is quite settled there.
Today I brought a resident's sister and a good friend - the friend has extreme difficulties walking - I rang the home yesterday to ask if it was possible to have the use of a wheelchair for our visit. On arrival a staff member came with a wheelchair helped us into the building and lift and took us to resident's room. Once in there she ensured my friend in the wheelchair was comfortable she fetched another chair for me - as there were three of us. After about five minutes she returned and offered us all a cup of tea. It was lovely for us all to enjoy a cup of tea together. On leaving she came and took us back down to the car and ensured my friend was safely in the car before she left us. This is the second visit, we received the same care on the first visit. On both occasions we received excellent care, especially today, who was obviously very busy, but she found time to ensure that we were taken care of - which was excellent. Thank you.
The Manager is so helpful, very polite and no knows their job. Really helpful to me and family. Staff are excellentt, really look after my dad. Premises are very clean. Cleaners are always about when you visit. The food and cooks are excellent. My Dad really likes th ehome and me and my family really appreciate everything Victoria House do for us. Excellent home facilities.
I find that the unit my husband is on is very efficient. I am very pleased with his care. He seems happy and content. If I note something I want altering, the Manager is good at dealing with and nothing is too much trouble.
I find Victoria House an ideal home for my wife who has Dementia. All the staff treat her with dignity and respect and treat her as a friend and not as a resident. She needs help with personal care and feeding and nothing is too much for them. On the floor my wife is on there are 21 rooms. All are clean and comfortable, there are wide open corridors for people who like to walk about.
Nice welcome from staff I knew there (I have been several times before). Food good, caring staff. A couple of outings. The weather was not too good overall a pleasant stay.
After moving my relative here following issues at his previous home I can honestly say this was a fantastic move. The service is very well led with a manager who is passionate about standards of service and leads from the front. The staff team are well trained and professional in their roles but the empathy they have can't be taught and the relationship they have built with my family make us really comfortable our relative is being well looked after. They keep us regularly informed of any issues which again is very reassuring. The best move we have made and our relative is once again thriving. His whole care delivers a person centred approach that once again gives him his dignity. The cooks are adaptable and make him meals of his own choice whenever he chooses. No sign of an institutional approach and as a result he has gained to a healthy weight once more. Keep up the great work.
