View Full Details of Delamere Lodge Care HomeMy husband was placed in permanent care in December 2024 due to his deteriorating condition (Vascular Dementia). There were were some minor hiccups as you would expect but, these were promptly rectified. It was probably down to the change over of temporary staff during the Festive season. Nevertheless, they were all very professional, friendly and understanding to my husband's needs. I do believe it was just a case of my husband getting used to his new home and the different faces plus, the team getting used to him and his needs. He seems to be settling in OK now. We are happy he is in a safe environment and seems to be well cared for which we are all very grateful. Thank you. Special thank you to the nurses and carers for their friendliness, professionalism and care towards my husband. The team are always happy to see me and other family members too and greet us with a smile and an update on how my husband's day has been. They treat us like family. Thank you to you all!
I would like to thank all the staff at Delamere Lodge for the care you provide to my dad. He is well looked after, yes initially rooms last year could be cleaner however you have all continued to work hard and provide good care and he does now have a clean environment - bedroom and around the home. Many thanks, your hard work is appreciated and noticed .
All the staff here are fantastic, giving us total confidence that mum is in safe hands. We value that the rooms are always clean and tidy, the meals always tasty and generous, the décor bright and cheerful, but what distinguishes Delamere from previous places is the staff. We can see that mum loves and is loved by her carers who always emanate warmth, patience, kindness and understanding. At a previous "good" home mum would exhibit apprehension about some staff, but at Delamere we always see ready smiles and pleasure in their company. Previously elsewhere the home seemed sterile and clinical, but at Delamere we see genuine attachment, reassuring physical closeness when called for, and good humoured relationships between carers and mum. For example recently staff excelled in giving mum a glorious 99th birthday day (with a custom tee-shirt saying "It's taken me 99 years to look this good"!) Priceless! All our family feel hugely grateful to have mum installed in such a safe, caring and professional "home".
Massive improvement to cleanliness. My mother was isolated due to a urine infection, came to visit and the room was a disgrace. Had a word with the manager and with a space of the previous 3 - 4 weeks of my review date, massive improvement. Her room is spotless and smells amazing. Thank you for listening to my concerns my mind is once again at ease.
I am happy with the care my grandad receives. He is always happy and content when I go to see him. Do I think the room could be cleaned a bit more . Also I think the room need updating and decorating .
Warm, clean and tidy reception area. Greeted by smart cheerful staff. Excellent facilities for all guests, allow for a peaceful secure environment. Meals are regular and full filling to say the least. The staff are always on hand to help and support all the guests 24/7. Each room is spotlessly clean and always well prepared to suit each individual guest. The bedding is always clean and fresh every day.
The level of care and support from all staff at Delamare Lodge Care Home for my mum was 'best in class'. They were always interactive with my mum, engaging with her and their support to my late father was exceptional. Very supportive and understanding. With my mum's end of life support, they were incredible and caring for my mum in her final days. I cannot thank them enough.
Suffering from complex, and at times distressing, advanced Alzheimers the outstanding and experienced team at Delamere Lodge Care Home embraced my Mum and guided her through her final challenging months. They looked after her with respect, compassion and kindness. They laughed with her, held her hand when she was sad and protected her from harm. The team also provided support, encouragement and friendship throughout a very difficult time for which I cannot thank them enough. I could not recommend Delamere more highly.
My husband spent the last nineteen months of his life here. He was safe, contented and comfortable. As a family, we feel we could not have found him a better place. He suffered from a particularly nasty form of Alzheimer's called PCA. The staff here took excellent care of him, treating him with respect, compassion, understanding and love. We felt happy in the knowledge that he was being well looked after. On the last day, his family stayed with him. The staff were respectful and sustained us with drinks and food. When we needed them, they were there. After he has passed, they treated him with so much respect. I cannot praise Delamere Lodge highly enough.
My wife was cared for by an experienced and dedicated care team. Exemplary care did so much to make her comfortable as dementia advanced. In addition to caring, the staff marked Easter with a card and Easter egg, on Mother's Day with special afternoon tea and on our 61st wedding anniversary with a card and flowers. My wife enjoyed the food and refreshments and I was able to have meals with her. I will be forever grateful for the consideration shown to me and the family as my wife's life ebbed away. I have no hesitation in highly recommending Delamere Lodge as a first-class care home.
My sister-in-law went to Delamere Lodge from a care home in Redcar. Her care during the short time she was at Delamere Lodge was excellent. After a few days, she was taken to visit her husband in his care home. The staff member took a lovely video of my sister-in-law's husband playing the piano to her. Sadly ten days later my sister-in-law took a turn for the worse and the family were told she was now on end-of-life care. Her son, daughter-in-law, daughter and myself took turns to stay by her bedside, night and day, so she would not die alone. I was pleased that I was able to play the video of her husband playing the piano, to her. During this time the care that my sister-in-law received was exceptional, as was the care that, we, the family received. The day and night staff from the nursing team, the care team, the cleaners looked after us with such thoughtfulness. As for the catering staff, the food they served us made us all want to move in. So a big thank you to you all.
My uncle was a very independent person and we did not think he would settle into a care home environment. We were happy he did. The staff are all very welcoming and made him feel safe, he had his own room with a toilet and wash basin. A place to put his clothes and was able to decorate their own room to their taste if wanted. His care and welfare have all been excellent and would definitely recommend Delamere Lodge Care Home.
My brother-in-law has been cared for by staff in Delamere Lodge for almost a year and during that time his care has been excellent with all staff treating him as if a member of their family. There have been several times when emergency medical intervention was required and all staff acted very promptly, with the aid of emergency response support, enabling him to stay in their care as opposed to the upset of hospital. Covid restrictions were in place initially and all staff were very compliant with them, whilst managing residents' and family's needs with care and consideration. It was recently his Golden Wedding Anniversary and staff welcomed close family to a small celebration, which my sister organised - but staff surprised her and her husband by beautifully decorating the coffee lounge and providing a lovely buffet - truly treating the home as their home from home. Occasional lapses in absolute cleanliness in some areas are insignificant when compared to the wonderful care provided by the staff - who in the last year have been amazing and consistent (staff seem to stay very long term) and absolutely get and understand my brother-in-law and his needs and also, I believe, are a good support to my sister.
Dad spent the last week of his life here. The care that he and we as his family received was excellent. The staff really care for the residents and Dad was treated with dignity and respect. Communication from care staff and management was excellent. We never felt like we were a nuisance with our numerous questions. Dad was able to receive the specific care he needed which we had struggled to do at home. We were made to feel like we were part of an extended family during the time he was there. Staff told us they were just doing their job but to us, it was much more than that. Having never experienced the elderly care system and hearing a lot of negatives about care homes this was a very positive experience for us as a family. We would quite happily recommend the home.
My wife was in Delamere for a short while. The care that she got was first class, the carers were very caring for my wife, she took straight away to the friendship she was given by all the staff. I would recommend the care home to anybody for the first-class care given to my wife, and all the family would like to thank them from the bottom of our hearts. The attention and professional care that was given to her I would like to thank you.
My Dad has lived in the care home for almost a year and he has received excellent care. He has dementia and the carers are so understanding and kind. He is always well presented when we go to visit. This year, during lockdown, it was my parents 65th Wedding Anniversary and we saw Dad through the window as visiting was not allowed. My Mam was so pleased to be able to see him on the day. The no visiting policy has kept residents safe from the Covid-19 virus. It was my Dads 89th birthday this week and the carers arranged a party for him which he enjoyed with family. Dad is well looked after and he is content and happy and we are delighted with his care.
Delamere Lodge is a home from home, first-class care. The residents are treated like family, nothing is too much trouble. The staff treated my dad with love, care and compassion always. Sadly my dad passed away in May and the kindness and care he received at end of life to him and his family will never be forgotten. Five Stars
My father recently passed away in your care. My sisters and I were treated with care, dignity and support during dad's care, from the staff, management and all concerned. I can't thank you enough and will let people know of the love and care given to dad.
The care and kindness shown to my sister were way beyond what I thought was possible, from people who are not related. All I can do is thank them from the bottom of my heart.
I like living here. It has been my home for a long time.
