View Full Details of Highfield Care HomeGreat visit. Staff helpful and informative. Went to check immediately on a small growth I'd noticed on my mom-in-laws face, she said she'd get it checked by the DR - great! thanks. Bedroom was nice and clean and tidy and cosy! Manager was welcoming and made time for me. Thank you!
I have been visiting this home for 2 1/2 years and I am welcomed by very friendly staff every time I visit.
Very pleased with the care my mam is receiving at Highfield. Staff are really friendly and I am confident that my mam is well looked after. The activities coordinator is always organising some activities or another, food looks good quality, and the place is always clean.
The facilities and staff are excellent. My wife is well cared for.
Christmas day lunch, I was made to feel so welcomed and realised the high quality of care my husband was receiving was great. Also the quality of the food was also amazing. The member of the care team always greets me with a hug and always tells me to look after myself.
All the staff are really helpful. My husband gets lots of help to get washed and dressed and access the things he needs. They always offer him a choice of tea or coffee even though they know he likes tea with one sugar. They always let us have our lunch together and give him time to finish his meals at his own pace.
My friend seems content here. The staff care for her. She can be difficult to help with her personal care but since she came here the staff have won her over. Activities are particularly good for my friend as she is happy to join in and loves the exercise classes.
My Mam, who suffered from vascular dementia, was brought into Highfield for respite care when my Dad went into hospital. It was immediately clear that the staff were both kind and skilled in dealing with dementia and she was immediately happier and calmer at Highfield than she had been at home with us (which she found a confusing and difficult environment). When my Dad was discharged from hospital, the council decided he could not cope at home and at our request placed him at Highfield to be with my Mam. For the five months that my Mam was at Highfield and the eight months that my Dad was a resident, I was constantly in awe of the patience, kindness and skill of the team there. This was true of everyone from the care assistants, and nursing staff right through to the management team. They even helped teach me the best way to interact with my Mam as she deteriorated; I can't thank them enough for their care.
Mother has been a resident for 6 months approx. The staff (majority of) are kind and caring.
Nana recently moved into Highfield (six weeks). The whole process has been excellent, well-organised and very smooth. We were reassured by the caring approach of the staff. Nana has settled quickly and is loving the company. She can't speak more highly of the staff. Thank you.
My mam has lived here over two years and is settled and content. The staff are friendly.
I needed respite for my husband who has Parkinson's and dementia and I was very pleased to find such a care home for him - they looked after him very well and I thank them very much for their care and support.
Think my wife was on dementia wing. She has not got dementia. Staff were always very busy. She felt isolated and waiting a while. She felt out of place.
I just don’t understand the 5-star reviews, this care home is lacking in so many areas. There are some lovely carers, however, my dad is not being cared for as I would like for him to be. The food has been atrocious, with no chef for weeks and residents lived off sausage rolls, beans and frequent takeaway pizza. There is no nutritional value to the food. The home smells permanently and is often dirty. There are not enough staff for residents and we often find dad sitting in dirty underwear, only getting attention when my mum raises the need. Teeth and fingernails are not cleaned regularly. Recently underwear with excrement in them have been found twice in his drawers, no one knows how it is getting there. The whole place needs a huge shake-up. There is a new manager and I hope she makes changes (the last one was totally ineffective and rarely seen). I couldn’t recommend it to anyone.
The management and staff are totally and utterly amazing, each and every one of them. I feel so much better knowing that these people are looking after my beautiful mum.
My sister has been in Highfield Care Home for almost 3 years. During this time her care has been excellent. The staff are all very caring and attentive. She is always kept very clean and tidy. She enjoys the meals and seems to be completely at ease and happy in the environment. I visit her often and I am always welcomed by the staff. The atmosphere is very homely. The Home is always very clean and tidy. I feel I am extremely lucky that she has been placed in Highfield. I have great admiration for the staff. The Manager, his Deputy, and the Administrator are always available and willing to help me with any concerns I may have.
From the initial contact, everyone has been friendly and helpful. There always seems to be a happy atmosphere. I have noticed how skilfully the staff deal with difficult patients. When my family visit there is always a cheerful smile as we are let in and usually a comment about our family resident. I know my husband has appreciated the good food here and if applicable the staff offer a drink to us. Thank you all!
Can't praise Highfield Care Home enough. All Dad's needs are met and I find all staff pleasant, friendly and efficient. No complaints here.
Great staff. I like living here.
Mam spent her last three months at Highfield, she had suffered from dementia for a number of years and was recovering from a bad fall. The staff at Highfield made her very welcome. The care she received from all the staff was excellent. They not only looked after mam through a very difficult time but also the family making our visits pleasant happy times with fun and laughter. Thank you Highfield for the love, friendship and care given to mam
