Went into St Andrews for two weeks respite. I was well looked after and well fed, staff were courteous and very professional. The staff made me feel very welcome on arrival. They also made my family very welcome, both on arrival and when they visited. The home was very clean and tidy and I would recommend this home to others.
What a wonderful care home. My family can't praise them enough. Our mum went in for an assessment as she wasn't managing at home. The care she receives was outstanding. The staff are so caring and friendly, and the whole atmosphere felt like a home-from-home. They made our mum's last days so wonderful. We would recommend St Andrew's to anyone thinking of a peaceful, friendly, caring home.
My experience within myself as a new starter I only start working at St Andrew's on November, some of the staff are very helpful to show you around they showed me that they care for the job that they are doing. I was also encouraged by the manage, which I appreciate and helping the residents with their needs and working together as a team, I am looking forward to knowing all the staff, and we can all work together.
My overall impression is that the majority of staff are kind and caring. They take time and trouble to help residents when needed or required. The home is very clean, and the food quality and variety are excellent. On occasions, it was evident that information wasn't being passed on from one carer to another - I was told several times when I queried something that "no one had told them". This needs to be addressed, but I would still recommend the home to others.
Completely satisfied with the care and service given. Nice, clean building, staff very attentive, well mannered and second to none. My sister is very happy to live here.
Excellent standard of care and compassion, hardworking friendly staff cared for my mother for two years and during end of life care. Whenever we saw my mother she was always telling us how good the carers were and we could see every day that it was so true. Outstanding.
St. Andrew's is a friendly care home. The staff are always very helpful and kind, not only by caring in a great way for their residents but by making the residents family feel welcome. My brothers needs are quite difficult under the circumstances but the staff are always on hand to care for him properly.
All was as well as could be expected. Much better than other care homes I have visited.
My mum has been in St Andrew's care home since December 2018. The care she has received has been exceptional. Nothing is a problem at all. The staff have gone out of their way to make her comfortable at all times. Any issues have been dealt with in a caring and efficient nature. I would recommend this care home 100%.
Four years ago, we had to make the difficult decision of having to find full-time nursing care for our mother. Whilst we saw this as a last resort, we knew we could no longer cope with looking after her at home. We decided on St. Andrews as mam attended the daycare unit there so she would at least be in familiar surroundings. Sadly, mam passed away on New Year’s Eve, 2018 and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the staff for the love and fantastic care they gave to mam over those 4 years. I would also like thank the staff for their kindness and compassion to all of the family, it was greatly appreciated.
Mam only got to spend less than 6 months at St Andrew's when she sadly passed away. Having said that they were the happiest months of her last few years. She settled in very quickly and made friends. She was no longer lonely and knew she was being cared for by excellent caring staff who became her friends. This gave us, her family, peace of mind to know she was happy and enjoying her life.
My mother has been resident at St Andrews for the past two and a half years and she settled instantly. She is happy and content due to the friendliness of the staff and this is evident when she interacts with them always with a smile on her face. Originally, for my own and my family's benefit, I intended to move her near to where I live in Sheffield but she is so settled and happy I have decided she should stay at St. Andrews and I make the journey to see her regularly. My mothers health has deteriorated due to various medical conditions and the home has provided great support to her and myself during this period. This level of support has made me very grateful and the commitment of the staff at St. Andrews to providing this care is of great comfort to me.
My Grandmother was a permanent resident at St Andrews Nursing Home. She enjoyed her time here, was always taking part in different activities. My Grandma made lots of friends here, there's a nice friendly atmosphere and it's always a pleasure to come and visit. I was always impressed with the meals at St Andrew's, very tasty and nutritious. Lovely cosy bedrooms. All round brilliant care home with an excellent level of care.
