View Full Details of Brandon Lodge Care HomeMy wife and myself reviewed all of the nursing homes within our area. After talking to the staff, management and support staff, I am confident that my sister is receiving the best care and treatment anywhere in the county. There may be better looking facilities, more modern etc. but the care is the most important for my sister and myself and at Brandon Lodge the care is first class. During our research, we saw some apauling care homes, they should visit Brandon Lodge to learn how care and dignity should be carried out and maintained.
My mam was a resident here. The care my mam received from all staff was of high standard, very caring and compassionate. Nothing was too much trouble for them, my mam was always treat with dignity and respect. Staff also take time to sit and talk with the residence one to one when they can. They have a fantastic activity program that residence can take part in if they wish. The rooms are very cosy, clean and homely. I would highly recommend Brandon lodge, I want to thank all the staff for all the care they give my mam.
Brandon Lodge Care Home is certainly one of the best. The outstanding care they give to my mam is so genuine and kind. She has been in this care home for nearly 4 years, it takes so much off my mind knowing she is looked after so well. I cannot praise the management and all the staff any higher. She says everyone is like her second family, she is treated with love and compassion day and night. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Absolutely superb all round. The staff always approachable, considerate, caring and patient. Every effort is made to make it feel like one big family between the residents and staff. We are always kept up to date and informed of any issues. Activities are superb! It gives me total peace of mind that my mother-in-law is in such a good and perfect care home.
Owing to the condition (mental) of my late husband (depression) it is not easy to assess his care in your home however, I was very impressed by my treatment by the nurse straight after my husband died on 21st December. I will always treasure her treatment of me and how she encouraged me to embrace my husband so that I could see him lying seemingly content straight after his death. I will always be grateful and remember his peaceful image.
My husband has been a resident for just over a year. I've not had usual visits because of national lockdown but during this terrible time staff have risen to the occasion and kept me fully informed of his wellbeing. He is treated with respect and compassion and his dignity is respected at all times. He did test positive for Covid and they rose to nurse once again. He was given loving care and excellent nursing plus I was kept fully informed, which helped me to stay positive. Their care extends to family which is greatly appreciated.
My mother has been at Brandon Lodge for over a year now. Though not a 'specialist' dementia care home, they understand dementia very well and adjust her care well. She is treated at all times with respect, and although she struggles to be engaged socially at all now, the carers still include her in as many activities as possible. They have found as many ways as possible to keep friends and families in touch with their loved ones. I know that my mum is being well looked after!
The home is welcoming and has a lovely vibe to it. All the staff are helpful and will listen. I am always reassured that my relative is in good hands and that all her care needs are being met in a dignified and well-planned way. I have absolute faith and trust in the provision of her health and welfare.
My dad has been in Brandon Lodge Care Home now for three years. He asked to go back there after previously being referred there for a short period. The staff are very friendly and caring towards my father and my family. I have not seen my father for a few months now due to present lockdown conditions but I know when I phone they are more than happy to keep me informed and let me speak to him.
I have found the care home staff very helpful and considerate. This care home is clean and bright with a pleasant outlook. The patients I have met seem to be happy here.
My father-in-law has been in the home for 14-months, from him first going; to present, he had always had first-class care. The staff are very caring and always keep us informed of what’s happening; even more so now since lockdown, they update their website with photos, which my mother-in-law is delighted with as she can see him. When my mother-in-law was visiting, which was every day, she was always looked after by all members of staff.
Found the home to be very good, the staff are very helpful and good at making you welcome. Everything is kept clean and tidy and the food is very good and plentiful. Residents are treated with respect and dignity upheld.
In the 6 months that my mother-in-law has been at this care home I have seen how hard the staff work under great pressure and sometimes demanding situations both with residents and their relatives. The staff have met these challenges with professionalism and have demonstrated respect, friendliness and a genuine warmth for those in their care. They have earned my respect and gratitude.
My mother was in Brandon Lodge Care Home. We found the home to be very nice. All the staff and management were very nice and helpful. The home was always clean and tidy and they always had Mam looking clean and nice when we called at the home. Mam was very happy there and loved chatting to the staff and joining in with the activities. The rooms could do with being a bit bigger so we could have got more of Mam's belongings in for her but apart from that we would say this was the best home we have seen.
Very helpful, supportive staff, reassured me of my father's care from the moment we arrived at the nursing home, at first I was unsure if I had made the right decision about my father's care because he was always adamant he never wanted to be placed in a home. In no time, I realised I had made the right decision placing him in Brandon Lodge, fantastic place with staff to match.
My mam has been in Brandon Lodge for five years now, she is exceptionally well looked after. The staff are always friendly, polite and very caring. My mam is very welcomed and it feels like home to her.
The home always smells clean and fresh, the staff are really friendly and above all, very professional. We have had our lunch here on a few occasions and really enjoyed them. All in all, we are very satisfied with the service.
Mam is currently in Brandon Lodge in an intermediate care bed where she has been for 2 weeks. Found the home to be clean, nicely decorated and bedrooms small but cosy. Mam has settled quite well. Without exception, we have found all staff treat Mam with respect and dignity and are very friendly towards family. There is doubt if Mam will get to her own home again, if not we would have no issues with her staying. Plenty of activities and meals are good.
My mum likes the home, however, I feel that it is short staffed and they don't have time to help her with her mobility (walking along the corridor). The rooms are small and in need of decorating. The food is good and families are encouraged to join in with events and activities. I would still recommend the home as my mum feels well looked after and safe and it's she who lives there.
Grandma has been well looked after during her time in the home. The nurses/carers have become friends to the family. Always keeping us updated.
