View Full Details of Richmond CourtMy father spent three and a half years at Richmond Court, where throughout his residency all the staff proved very attentive, patient and respectful and would go out of their way to ensure my father was as comfortable as possible as he suffered from Alzheimer's. When my father was pronounced at the end of life, the care and nursing staff made every effort to ensure my father was as relaxed and comfortable as possible during his final few days. The accommodation is clean and safe. My father especially loved the food and rarely left anything. There are many activities available, although my father generally chose not to partake. The home is always very welcoming to visitors.
I live in the States and it's such a relief to know that my brother is getting the best care possible. The staff keep me fully informed on how he is doing, and when I visit they are always cheerful, friendly and obviously care a great deal for their residents. I very much appreciate all their hard work, dedication and professionalism. Many thanks to you all!
Uncle lived at the care home for the last ten years of his life. He suffered from dementia. Despite the burden of dementia, the staff at Richmond Court made him happy. His dementia now came with a smile. He was at ease and content at Richmond Court, due only to the kindness and skill of the staff. The staff were outstanding. Their tireless dedication, knowledge and kindness saved my uncle, not only in terms of his physical wellbeing, but more importantly in his happiness. Uncle's family has nothing but the highest regard and the greatest appreciation for the Richmond Court staff. Thank you.
The standard of care and support received by my mother at Richmond Court was exceptional. The staff were hard-working, professional and fully committed to the safety and well-being of the residents. There was a warm, cheery and welcoming atmosphere in the unit. Staff made time to get to know Mam, engaged with her and went out of their way to provide activities geared toward her particular interests and wishes. Communication with us as a family was open, clear and supportive. We were struck by how happy the staff seemed, their cohesiveness as a team, and how genuinely dedicated to, and fond of the residents they were. We were also impressed by the approach and experience of the manager, deputy and senior staff, who were openly supportive, appreciative and proud of the staff team for the high-quality care they delivered. I will always be grateful to Richmond Court staff for the dignified, respectful, attentive and compassionate care they provided to Mam in her final days.
We would like to thank all the staff at Richmond Court for the loving care they have shown to my sister in the last months of her life. The staff showed care and compassion that was extended to myself and my family which made a very hard time that little bit easier. I would certainly recommend Richmond Court to anyone looking for care for their loved ones.
My uncle was a resident of Richmond Court for ten years and was always well cared for by the hard-working, dedicated staff. I am aware that the life expectancy of dementia in a care home is typically less than two years, and the fact my uncle lived to a great age is a testament to the quality of the care he received.
Looking better every day.
I have two siblings with learning disabilities caused by cerebral palsy. The staff have spent more time than I know assisting my sister, in particular, with her mood swings. She is a changed lady and continues with daily help to have a great social life from the activities team. They go out weekly for meals, shopping etc, and also in-house activities i.e. entertainment and dog therapy. The list goes on. My brother has had so many one-to-one assistants and social activities also. I would recommend it highly. I'm kept advised by senior care staff of all interventions.
My husband's needs have been met with respect and care. It was difficult for me, as his wife, to leave him in the care of strangers. My needs have been taken into account, both by the carers and the manager and her staff. Can't believe how they took into account my needs as well as my husband's. I am hoping I feel better soon as my husband now seems content.
The staff are caring and thoughtful. Management are professional and yet still very approachable. Since my father has been in the care system he appears healthier and better.
My husband died recently in Richmond Court after a long fight with dementia, having been a resident for 4 1/2 years. He did NOT become a COVID statistic, thank goodness, and throughout his stay there I can only thank and appreciate the care and compassion shown to him (and me) by the staff. It truly became his home.
My sister is a resident of Raby Cottage having been admitted due to her inability to care for herself, and the necessity for her to have protection from someone who was an inappropriate person to care for her. It was a concern of mine for many years. But I was unable to help her in her mental state. She is now medically cared for, she is diabetic but now understand her dietary needs, she has a number of health problems which are kept under control. She is now much happier, and I believe she has turned the corner in her health matters. I am so relieved that she has realised how much safer she is in her new home.
The care and attention given to my brother has been outstanding. He has been in other institutions and private care homes but here, there is a vast improvement in his overall health, calmness and general well-being. I would not hesitate to recommend this home to anyone. If the situation arose I would be happy to live there.
The decor within the resident's room and corridors are in great need of updating and cleaning. There should be more interaction and activities for patients/dementia patients rather than just sitting in front of the T.V.
Richmond Court was found to be well led by a well experienced Manager, who goes that extra mile to show appreciation to her staff. The staff were so friendly and have great support from their Manager which l found contributed to job satisfaction. She leads like Florence Nightingale. The support that she gives her staff makes the job so exciting. Even through a difficult circumstance, staff always had a smile, thanks to the Managers support. When the workforce is happy, friendly and knowledgeable, it makes the job so easy, hence their Residents’ needs are fully met. I found staff relationships were excellent and l believe all this is down to the Manager. I found the happiest team l have ever come across. Richmond Court is the best care home l have ever come across. Having worked in care homes for over twenty years , this home caught my eye. Residents and staff are like one family, thanks to the Home Manager.
My husband is very settled here. The staff are lovely and hardworking. No faults at all.
I informed the lady conducting the review with the social worker that the staff at Raby Cottage, Richmond Court were extremely good at their jobs. One of their qualities was that they treated my brother and other residents with dignity and respect.
Every time we come to visit the care home it smells terrible. I came today and had to leave because the smell is unbearable. The person I visit is always dirty ie her clothes and bed and nightwear is stained.
My brother has settled very well and staff are really friendly. The room is lovely. Gives me peace of mind to know he is well looked after and safe.
I think all the staff and nurses do a very good job under what are sometimes very difficult times in a kind and understanding manner.
