View Full Details of Howlish Hall Residential Care HomeAll staff were friendly and tried their best to provide good care. This was not always achieved. On occasion staff were not available for some time to provide support for toileting and general care. The facilities (including the garden and external areas) are dated; in places, are in disrepair; and generally in need of TLC.
Originally the decision to place Father in a home was hard. The staff were fully informative and took the time to sit and have laughs since end-of-life care cannot complement the care and attention to the littlest details, always remaining professional but attentive. The only downside the room is ready for an update, the situation of area in the home, limited outlook and light.
My partner came here a few weeks ago as a permanent resident, he had been here before on respite and I was sure this was the place when I could no longer take care of him. I couldn't be more satisfied and pleased, the staff are so so special, all lovely, kind, caring, encouraging etc, there's plenty going on if the residents want to join in, lovely setting. Comfy rooms and the laundry is changed daily, I couldn't ask for better care. I wish he was at home with me but this is the next best. I would highly recommend. Thank you to you all
Caring, pleasant and compassionate staff. Always helpful and available for discussions with family. Aesthetics both internally and externally not the best, needs attention.
Caring staff and friendly atmosphere.
My mother has been resident in Howlish Hall since June 2019 to date. During that time she has been so well cared for. She is treated with dignity and respect. She is always clean and nicely dressed. The carers are excellent. They have gone above and beyond with looking after the residents during the pandemic. If there is a problem it is dealt with quickly and the family are always kept up to date by management. The staff are always cheerful and make you welcome. A lovely home. Would recommend it to others. Well done Howlish Hall staff.
I would tell anyone about this home as they are very helpful. Nothing is a problem and all was on the go with residents. The staff are very friendly and helpful and it's always clean and tidy. They can not do enough for the residents of the care they give is above eight. Beyond what other care homes do I am grateful for what they do for my mam.
Can't fault the standard of care provided to my mother, especially during these difficult times. The staff are always helpful, knowledgeable and willing to go the extra mile. The food, entertainment and facilities make her stay here seem like home.
I am full of admiration for the management and staff for the love and care they are giving to my sister-in-law. When my sister was in the same care home the staff could not have cared for her any better if she had been their own mother and sister. Treated with love and dignity and respect. As are the visitors.
My father is a resident at Howlish Hall. He has flourished since going into the home. We find the staff terrific, kind and caring, nothing is too much trouble for them. They have a lot of activities for the residents to take part in daily. I would recommend the home to anyone who wants loved ones to be looked after as you would do for them. I have peace of mind knowing he's being looked after at the highest level.
My mam has been a resident in Howlish Hall for approximately 3 and a half years. In this time I have been very happy with the care given to her. We are always kept informed by staff and management on her well-being, we couldn’t have picked a better home for her. Marks out of 10 = 11+.
My mother, who has very severe dementia, has been a resident of Howlish Hall care home for over 7 years now. The care she gets is fantastic and I cannot fault any of the staff that work there. They are always cheerful and friendly and always take time out to have a quick chat. They are always quick to respond to a problem with my mother and always contact me quickly to resolve any matters that arise. The bedrooms are clean and well cared for and in some cases, the bedrooms are furbished by the residents that are able, themselves, with personal effects. They are large, airy and have plenty of space to accommodate the resident as well as family members that come to visit. There are plenty of activities daily, that keep the residents occupied. They have always, in my mother's case, gone above and beyond to ensure my mother is always comfortable and cared for, whether it's in bed or in her own chair. I wouldn't want her in any other place. Great home and great staff.
