View Full Details of Pelton Grange Care HomeWe put our mum into this care home, as it was close to all immediate family, although the bedrooms weren't the best mum had the best care, we got mum into this home on Christmas Eve in 2023 when she was really poorly and at the point of end of life. Since mum being admitted into Pelton Grange she had gone from strength to strength mum thoroughly enjoyed attending of all the activities within the home, and we are a family need to acknowledge the activities coordinator to be outstanding in her job role, the bedrooms within the home need to be updated and if possible ensuite, but let us say thank you for the love and care mum was given.
My dad was a resident for two years until he passed away in November. The staff are really friendly and always made us feel welcome and included in everything. The activities that's run are amazing as are the occasion days and parties. My dad was treated with respect, high level of care and like a member of one big family which meant we could sleep at night. We never once worried about him being looked after. As a family, it meant so much to us for him to return to the home at end of life so we could spend time with him alone. The home isn't clinical or old fashioned it's like home from home. The staff are really amazing people.
Mother took up residency in July 2024. It has been an emotional journey as she was very unwell but with the support of the home staff, it made it an easier transition for Mum and all the family.
The staff are pleasant and welcoming but could do with more staff. The cleaners need more staff.
We really can't thank the wonderful staff at Pelton Grange enough, for the way in which they have lovingly and diligently cared for my dear dad in his last 7 months of life. The personal attention afforded to Dad has made the traumatic transition to a care home so much easier for all our family. His smiles and humour throughout his time at the home were indeed testament to the contentment he felt in knowing how extremely well cared for, and indeed loved, he was by all the amazing staff. This is a home that is dedicated to giving the best of attention to our loved ones, and offering friendly warmth to family members on their visits. Their hard work and commitment to their vocation is to be applauded.
The activities coordinator outstanding. The management not so, staff work hard looking after residents, attitudes towards them from some senior staff could be improved. Cook made lovely cakes/birthday cakes. On more than one occasion - Medication in dressing-gown pocket. Dressed inappropriately. Unattended. Soiled clothing not bagged in washing bag. Commode not emptied. Same juice in jug for more than one day. Not notified if receiving treatment for wounds. Sitting alone distressed. On one occasion - Asleep, head resting on dining room table. Fish and chip dinner wrapped in pillowcase in laundry bag. Had itching rash, unexplained.
Very caring staff who look well after people and seem to genuinely care. Parents are very happy there since moving in. Staff friendly with visitors to the home. The activities lady is very good. Lots of different things to do during week but lacks activities on the weekend. Rooms could do a bit of modernisation with laminate or vinyl flooring down rather than carpet. Would be nice for visitors to be able to get tea/coffee while in seeing relatives. The food looks lovely and portion sizes seem decent.
I had a very satisfactory review and answered all my questions. I'm more than satisfied with the care my mother is receiving. The staff are excellent.
I think my grandad is loving this place and I did lots of pictures for him and I even got to help out! I really appreciate this place and I know my grandad is getting the best treatment in this care home.
My grandad is a resident in your care home and recently had a bad fall. The staff are amazing and they cared for my grandad throughout this and are so caring towards his needs. They are brilliant when talking to his relatives, also explaining what had happened.
My husband is in the care home and he is happy with his care, if not he would have said. He liked his food and the staff are very kind and understanding.
I can't thank enough the team at Pelton Grange for their support to my grandmother, since coming to Pelton she has been well looked after and seems to be going from strength to strength. It really is like a family at Pelton and the food and activities are fantastic. Thank you so much!
I have found all of the staff at the home to be very helpful and approachable. My wife had been making marked improvements until the understandable isolation of the home when they had infections requiring closure to visitors. The isolation has had a bad effect on my wife which will take a long while to get her back to her previous position. I feel little else could be done at the home and fully acknowledge the situation.
A heartfelt thanks for the support to our family as well as the excellent standard of care provided for my father in law during his latter months as he fell victim to that cruel thing called dementia. The warmth shown to us all, especially my mother in law, when visiting her husband could not have been better and in truth, we felt like part of the "family" very quickly. Their bar of excellence is set very high from both a managerial as well as a daily carer perspective and all the staff already know how fondly we look upon them all. It is our pleasure to leave a review of the highest standard as a family and our thanks, of course, to be recorded and available for review by others looking for the same high standard of service.
All staff and management are fantastic. Friendly and welcoming. Would highly recommend this care home.
I always receive a warm welcome off staff and residents. The care my mam receives is knowing she is in safe hands and her needs are met. Nothing is a concern to go discuss any issue with the manager. My mam has an active life with going out and joining in with the activities and shopping.
Fantastic service. I lived my stay whilst my daughter went on holiday. I spent 16 days in Pelton grange Care Home, the service was amazing, food, hospitality and care all outstanding. I made some amazing friends and continue to see them when I go up and see my wife who has Alzheimer's. Thank you x
I cannot fault this care home nor thank them enough for the care, support and compassion they have shown my mother and myself. Originally an emergency temporary care home, but Mum liked it so much she wanted to stay permanently and I'm glad she did. Nothing is too much trouble, food is good quality, rooms are cosy and there are regular activities to keep residents entertained. A happy home run by a great team who really care. Keep up the good work.
On the second day in the home, my wife managed to get out into the garden when she fell and badly injured her face but great care was taken of her by staff. I cannot find anything wrong with the staff in the home, she has settled in very nicely.
Best way to describe this place is amazing. My mum has Alzheimers, we came for a visit on 27th April and she loved it. Came into respite on 30th April and hasn't left. The staff are amazing, friendly, very approachable and can't do enough to help you and your family member. Out of ten, they deserve 11. Anyone wanting a safe environment for a family member then there is only one place and it's Pelton Grange Care Home.
