View Full Details of Redwell Hills Care HomeMy Sister and I have nothing but praise for the Staff of Redwell Hills Care Home. They are always cheerful and willing to help with any problems we may have had. My Mother has been a resident since July 2024 and they made her feel welcome from day one and continue to look after her really well. She is 102 (103 in March) and is very content with everything that the staff do for her.
Visited a friend I had not seen in a while, and it was very refreshing to see the progress they had made since transferring to the home. Can clearly see they are very well cared for, nothing is too much to ask for staff are very accommodating and friendly. The food looked delicious, management were very approachable and took the time to listen.
My brother moved into the care home in December 2024. I was very anxious about the move as this was very different from what my brother was used to. I need not have worried, the care is excellent and the staff go above and beyond to ensure that every resident is happy and well cared for. There are different social events and my brother has even been baking with the staff. I could not have imagined that anything like this would be possible and am delighted. The manager always greets you with a smile and will listen and answer any questions you might have. The staff engages with the residents very well and have already come to know my brother's likes and dislikes. He has settled well and now calls Redwell Hills his home. I will be eternally grateful to everyone who has made this move a good experience for my brother and myself. Thank you.
My aunty has been in the home for the last eight months and she is treated with dignity and respect at all times. Staff are all friendly and go out of their way for the residents.
I have found the care for my mum outstanding. She is always treated with respect and all the staff are lovely. She enjoys joining in with activities and socialising with other residents. The home has also recently been refurbished which gives it a clean environment. I would definitely recommend to others.
Everyone is so friendly and helpful. I'm a nurse myself and I'd be proud to work with their team. My mam is well looked after and the staff has built good relationships with her. Nothing is a chore, and everyone is accommodating.
I've just visited an old friend in Redwell Care Home. What a lovely inviting home it is. The staff were lovely and even the manager came to speak to me. It is very well kept and they all seem happy in there and the staff were all so chatty. The rooms were lovely and well-maintained. Overall really nice.
Redwell Hills Care Home is a lovely care home, the staff are polite and very helpful and can have my dad's needs met when we have concerns, there are a lot of activities and residents are taken out if they wish. The care home is bright and cheerful and they have a lovely walled garden which all residents can enjoy and they have rabbits in their garden lovely home, beautiful views.
When showing up unannounced and in urgent need my partner and I were given a thorough tour of Redwell Hills with helpful advice from the assistant manager. My mam was moved into the dementia unit at short notice with support from all staff. My mam has been at Redwell Hills for 6 weeks now and has settled in better than we expected. Food is good and care staff are excellent doing a really demanding job. Her room is basic but always kept clean and tidy as is the rest of the home. There is a nicely kept secure garden to the rear with seating areas and even pet rabbits. All of the care home is kept secure at all times.
My wife has Alzheimer's and has been in Redwell Hills for over a year. In the last few weeks her behaviour has been angry and aggressive. The staff in the home have been exceptional in these circumstances and due to their efforts my wife's medication has been changed and she is now on an even keel. I cannot thank them enough.
Extremely hard working staff. The administrator is quite often the first person you see when you arrive through the secure entry, and she is very nice and helpful. Someone you see the manager who is also very nice and helpful. My father is there for a 'time-to-think' and by all accounts requires a lot of support and care. This is probably the best place for him. All the staff are very friendly and cheery. My favourite staff must be the two bunny rabbits! The grounds person/maintenance person is there most days, and you can tell how much pride there is in a job well done. Nice open spaces, lovely gardens. Easy access via road, or on foot if you fancy a decent walk from Consett. Despite not having air con, on top of that hill, it is never hot and stuffy. To all the staff there - thank-you.
Moved mother here from another care home as she wouldn’t come out of her room so became very isolated and depressed. At Redwell Hills, the staff are caring and friendly, it’s a nice environment, nice food, staff are always there to listen to families too.
It is a very stressful time having to move a parent into a care home, but all of the staff at Redwell Hills have been so caring and supportive. It has a really homely feeling, with pet rabbits even! And spaces both inside and outside to engage the residents. The garden is beautifully kept and such a sunny haven. I had the privilege of accompanying my father on one of their regular visits out today. We had a fantastic day at the museum, visiting all of the attractions, including the funfair with superb fish and chips and ice cream to follow! The carers were superb, really putting the well-being of the residents first I am reassured my dad is in a stimulating and nurturing environment.
My mam is cared for very well. She is starting to put weight on due to the excellent meals and snacks on offer. This is good for my mam as she had lost a lot of weight prior to admission to Redwell Hills. She has a lovely room with en-suite facilities which is always clean and fresh. Bonus is the day trips my mam has been on since being a resident. My mam is not an easy person to please but I am reassured that she is safe and that the staff do care.
I could not fault the care my mother receives from the staff. She is always well cared for and love and attention given to her which very reassuring and encouraging for her. The home is very well managed and any issues, which are minimal, are addressed and acted upon promptly. She has settled well and this along with the excellent care is a great source of comfort to me. Knowing she is valued and respected and interacted with is fantastic. All in all a super home. Couldn’t fault it. The staff are so friendly and helpful and as well as looking forward to seeing my mother I enjoy the friendship which is shown to me when I visit.
All good.
The most important thing is that my mam is well cared for and well looked after which she is here. All of the staff are lovely and helpful, including the management team. Nothing ever seems too much trouble.
The staff are very helpful. Laundry is good, clothes washed every day. Kitchen staff are very accommodating. Downside is, some of the night agency staff are not very helpful.
My mam was already diagnosed with Alzheimer's and Dementia, we knew one day she would need residential care but mam had an unexpected fall. We dropped mam at the home and came away devastated. Turn the clock forward, now when we take mam out, she comes back, lets out a sigh and says 'It’s nice to go out but it’s nice to come home'. I can't praise the staff enough the entertainers, catering, housekeeping and care staff all go above and beyond for the residents. Mam is thriving in the home, she is a social lady who enjoys days out, games and quizzes, singing and laughing with the other residents. She has a daily option for her main meal and loves the homemade cakes on offer every day, with regular cups of tea. Her room is cleaned every day, washing is done and returned to her wardrobe daily. The lounge and dining room are social areas, always pristine. The care staff are there for our family too. 10/10 for Redwell Hills and thanks for looking after my nearest and dearest so well.
I have found this home very welcoming with friendly, caring staff. Have eased a stressful necessity of moving into residential care for my Mam recently. I am pleased with this home and hope she will settle well. I'm sure she will.
