My mam had a fairly short stay at Barchester Chester Court Care Home, Bedlington. My mam had a cancer in a very personal area, she passed away there on the 16th January 2025. The care and kindness given to my mam was amazing. The team there were outstanding. I could not thank them enough. Mam was treated in a very professional way whilst staff still made sure Mam kept her dignity. They absolutely covered her with love. Also, through her final days, the care they gave to us, as a family, was amazing. The home was lovely and friendly and did not smell like a care home. All I can say is a massive thank you. You all are an amazing group of people.
My mam received nursing care, from 28/06/2024 until she passed away on 08/11/2024, by Barchester Chester Court Care Home. This was a very difficult time for the family but the help, care assistance and dignity offered to Mam helped us immensely. Some of the carers and nurses were very professional and it was very comforting to see the way they looked after and interacted with her when she was unwell. We found your organisation to be very good with some exceptional staff and you should be very proud of the service you provide.
Easy to talk to staff about anything.
Having spent several months in Barchester Chester Court Care Home, my husband became one of the amazing family who live and work here. He felt at home with extremely caring and cheerful staff and thoroughly enjoyed the excellent food, some activities and visits to the garden to see how tomatoes were progressing in the greenhouse. Best wishes and thanks to everyone here for the future and continuing five star service.
My grandma receives the best care, she has every need met and more. There are always activities and amazing food too. Staff are friendly and reliable, the rooms are a lovely size and very clean. 100% would recommend.
My mother has been a resident at this care home for over two years. Sadly, she passed away this morning. She has always been cared for wonderfully during her time in the home. I've always been kept informed of her condition, any issues discussed with the family, however, during the past week, the staff, without exception, have been outstanding. Their dedication and compassion, both to her and myself, have been overwhelming at this sad time.
My mam was in here for six and a half years and was well looked after. I was always happy to visit, her room felt like her home. It was clear during her last month how well cared for she was during her whole stay. Staff genuinely helped and looked our for her.

My family and I would like to thank all the staff at Chester Court for looking after my sister. They have done a brilliant job of caring for her, and she was the happiest we have seen her. The manager and her staff are amazing and very welcoming we would recommend this care home to anyone for its caring service. It is a home-from-home. Sadly we lost her on 25th Feb 2024. Thank you everyone at Chester Court for their compassion and support.
My mum passed away on 23/12/2023. The care home was amazing with their care and help on such a sad evening. I would highly recommend the Barchester Chester Court Care Home at Bedlington. Also, great management and staff. Definitely 10/10 service.
The home is very clean and comfortable. The staff are excellent and the food is fantastic quality. Overall, a lovely experience for my father.
Amazing care and lovely caring staff. To come and visit is a pleasure and wonderful staff.
Since my mother came to Chester Court Care Home in early February 2023 she has settled into what she now calls home! This is due to the warm welcoming feeling in Chester Court and the caring and friendly staff, who have a smile and kind words for residents and visitors alike.
I am so pleased that I can get in at any time to see my wife, the staff are always welcoming. There are times when my wife wants to come home with me. I sometimes have pudding but always have fish and chips on Friday.
My wife is very happy and contented every time I visit and I put this down to the good care she receives in the home. The staff could not be any more caring and attentive. Any questions or concerns I have are always seen straight away, although I am always kept up to date on all aspects of my wife's care.
Facilities are very good, staff efficient and friendly and very helpful.
When you come into the grounds it makes a good impression and this continues on entering the building. The staff are so friendly and helpful and Mum is treated and looked after as I hoped she would be. The cleanliness and food are excellent and the nurses are always on hand if any questions need answering. The manager always has a smile and a word and is very approachable. I would recommend Chester Court to anyone looking for a care home.
Care and needs are all satisfactory. My sister is as well as we can expect. Her well-being is looked after.
My mam spent the last few weeks of her life at Chester Court Care Home. She was 91 and had been the most independent lady until she took ill a month earlier. She was so depressed, to the point she didn't want to live. Your whole team showed her much love and kindness, so much care. She took a turn for the worst a week ago and was no longer responsive. We expected her to pass that night but she lived 6 further days. Those days were pure hell for us, she was incontinent but all staff cleaned her immediately, turning her often and coming in often to care for her and us. I spent the last week with her, and my sister, taking turns sitting with her. On the night of her death, I was alone with her but the staff took so much time with me, making sure I was OK. 3 am I knew she was going to pass soon. I held her hand and she passed 3.20 am. One member of staff, in particular, was absolutely amazing. So much empathy and care, letting me stay with her, telling me what happens next. You helped me so much and I will be eternally grateful. Thank you.
