View Full Details of Northlea Court Care HomeRegards the 2nd stay my Mum had - the 1st being + for her. This time, I'd say, she was traumatised by the stay. Due to 1, possibly 2 people who made her feel very uncomfortable, and if I read her right made her feel like she was a hassle. The person was "in charge" of the ward. I don't know names/shifts. I know she was traumatised as she has told all and sundry about her experience, from SS to the Memory Clinic, and us - until we know it by heart. I know, she should have told me and I would have dealt with it -100%. We were abroad she didn't want to burden us ,and what would her treatment be like then, from the individual ,once reprimanded - she asked? I get it -some old people can be a "nuisance" for some carers, set in their ways, slow etc but ,when a person is paying top whack, as she was - better treatment is necessary!! She says she will not return, after this episode. Sad, as she had considered NLea as full time after her 1st visit. Some people in charge, on the ward, need a word?
I would just like to say thank you for the care that you gave my aunt in the last few months of her life before she passed away. The care she received was impeccable and could not be faulted. The food and facilities were second to none and my aunt particularly enjoyed seeing the hairdressers every week. Naturally, she would have preferred to be at home but Northlea Court was the next best place and safest place for her to be. You gave her and her family comfort in looking after her. Would definitely recommend Northlea Court to others.
My mother spent her last 10 months at this care home. The staff were so friendly and never made her feel like she was a bother. The rooms looked a bit tired but they were functional. The kitchen made sure everyone was well fed and offered to cook alternatives when her appetite was poor. In the last few months, her care became more demanding and the carers looked after her with love and dignity. I spent a lot of time there, especially towards the end, and I was looked after as much as my mam. My only criticism is that they could do with more carers on duty in the daytime. A lot of the residents needed 2 carers at the same time to look after them, and they were rushed off their feet. I would certainly recommend this care home.
My aunt took up residence in Northlea Court midway through June having been discharged from the hospital after an eight-week stay. My aunt was in a very poor condition but the staff in the home did an excellent job of preparing for her arrival and on arrival making her feel wanted and special. The equipment provided for lifting her and the air-blown mattress needed to stop bed sores was all new. The care and attention she received in the weeks leading to her death were second to none. From cleaners, carers, nursing staff, admin and managers they all went out of their way to ensure my aunt was comfortable and we the relatives superbly supported.
I would just like to shout out a big thank you to all the lovely kind, caring, patient and incredibly hard-working staff at Northlea Court Care Home. My uncle has been with you since end of February this year and has settled into his new life very quickly. He really enjoys being with people and participates in the activities. With your help, he has gotten over a nasty chest infection and I can honestly say that knowing he is taken care of so well has been a great relief to me.
I was treated with respect. Caring and helpful staff. Very good meals. Plenty of tea and coffee and juice. Attention to all my wishes. Friendly atmosphere.
Mum needed a short notice respite stay which the manager was able to facilitate quickly and without fuss. Upon arrival the staff were friendly and helpful and made mum feel welcome and safe. The food was tasty and plentiful with a good variety of choice. Rooms were clean and comfortable.
I cannot speak highly enough of Northlea. We celebrated my late grandma's 100th birthday on the 4th of May (she died on the 9th of December). We decided to keep what we had booked. We were welcomed like long-lost family and they made the day very special for us. The care my grandma received at Northlea was nothing short of amazing and I would recommend it to anyone who will listen.
My mum was a resident until she passed away in December. I can't speak more highly of the care she was given, particularly end-of-life. I returned today as we were having a small celebration on what would have been her 100th birthday. The welcome from all the staff was amazing. They don't have a high turnover and it was like meeting up with old friends. I would recommend Northlea Court to anyone.
Dad's been happy, well looked after and enjoying "banter" with the staff while staying in the area he's grown to love. Staff have also listened without judgment to the complex and backstory to our very disconnect "family" saga, which has made my visits a lot more bearable, especially allowing and making my "other" grumpy old man in.
Northlea Home is very clean and the staff are very kind and helpful.
My Mum has been living in Northlea Court for around two years now and I continue to be pleased with the way she is given care and support by the staff who look after her. The time she has been a resident seems to have passed by so quickly, something that is probably the result of Mum being so happy where she is and how this has subsequently helped me deal with the changes in her life since 2021. I am very grateful to all at Northlea Court for everything they have done and continue to do for my Mum.
After taking care of my wife for so long, the time came when I had to put her into care. She is now in Northlea Court Care Home and could not be in a better place. I visit regularly, and from the management to the nursing staff, they are all so lovely and caring, they go out of their way to be helpful in every sense. My wife has settled in so well, and is really happy, which makes me feel very much at ease. My gratitude goes out to everyone at Northlea, for taking care of my wife so well.
As soon as one walks through the door of Northlea Court Care Home, you can feel the love. My relation is at end-of-life and the love, care and commitment from staff at all levels are excellent. Thank you so much.
So happy to have my parents-in-law looked after so well. The staff in every department do their very best at all times and put themselves out on many occasions for the residents. My in-laws are happy and contented. We are now able to relax knowing they are in safe hands. Thank you to you all.
All staff go above and beyond to look after residents. Activity staff very often keep residents busy with bingo, games and organising singers. The staff are always available and make time for me if I have any issues with my father. If my father has any medical problems or falls they always ring me to keep me updated.
I was lucky enough to be at Northlea Court with my mum on the day of the summer garden party which was arranged by the events coordinator. It was a wonderful warm and sunny day with the residents outside under the shade enjoying live music, refreshments and ice creams. The residents and staff sang along, danced and joined in with the very happy atmosphere that had been created. Listening to my mum singing and seeing the joy in her face is such a special memory that will stay with me and she also loves to remember the day. The singer was amazing and included all the residents, as did the events coordinator and all the staff to ensure a lovely day was had by everyone, confirming to us that Northlea is a home from home.
My sister appears to be well looked after, clean and has put on weight, which means she must be eating quite well which she hadn't been while looking after herself. Obviously, due to the pandemic, certain aspects have gone by the board, ie: podiatry care or hairdresser, which I am told will shortly be happening. The staff are always pleasant and helpful and if I request something for my sister, they always oblige. My sister is not a mixer, so I'm not sure what activities exist, but I am sure they are adequate.
Staff are very friendly, very helpful and caring.
During these most difficult of times, I have found comfort in that my mother is receiving very good support and care across a range of staff led by positive home management. It is clear that my mother is very well settled and her needs attended to in a professional manner, this confirmed during my phone conversations. My previous visits before lockdown allowed me to see a very clean home with a welcoming team and a warm feeling with staff keen to engage and respond where required.
