The staff at Red Brick House are excellent. They are very caring and professional. My husband is very well looked after a safe. He has a comfortable room and the food is very good.
The staff were incredible. I honestly don't know how they do the job they do as there is so much sadness. They always had a smile for my wife and me, a kind action that helped me enormously.
The warmth and the understanding we all received from the staff were amazing and Mum's care was dealt with, with dignity and compassion. Thank you especially for taking such good care of my dad who would have been lost without you.
The staff in Red Brick House are extremely helpful to both family and residents. I feel that when I am unable to be with Mam, she is safe and very well cared for. Mam has struck up close, but professional relationships with all staff. Red Brick is a friendly environment any time of day when I arrive.
Cannot speak highly enough of all the staff at Red Brick House The family and I have always been made to feel welcome and appreciate the care, dignity and dedication which they show to the residents. After visiting we can leave knowing our family member is in good hands.
Care couldn't be better.
We've always found communication very good. He always praises the staff's care. Food and drinks are good. we feel that she is in good hands.
I can't speak too highly of the staff at Red Brick House - they have helped and supported my brother to settle in and have been fantastic in their care for him. I have also been made very welcome on my frequent visits to see him and so reassured that he is cared for in this way. Thank you so much.
My dad was moved to the Red Brick five weeks ago from the hospital on a temporary basis until a care package is put in place. In the meantime, the care home has fulfilled his needs, and the staff are very helpful.
Very desirable and run with perfection and care.
Mam has been living in Red Brick for nearly six years. Could moment on the food and activities as its a closed door at meal times. No relatives in the dining room. I don't know what the food is like but when I asked what mam has eaten the choices sound very varied and nutritious. Man is nearing the end of her life and has little to no mobility, and no comprehension so can't participate in activities. Laundy is still the letdown. Shrinking and other people's clothes in mams drawers or she is wearing them.
This is my second time here, the first time was very good so good that I come back for more. I will be back a third time when my home life gets too much and when the home has a space for me.
My sister has been at Red Brick for several years. She is well looked after and very happy. The staff are caring and get to know family members.
My mam is cared for by lovely staff whom she feels very safe with. A carer recently gave my mam a huge hug and danced with her welcoming her back after her outing. Smiles all around. Would love to see more of this where residents and carers are one, not isolated away from each other, or residents asleep with heads on tables or their knees. Visitors find this most upsetting. Compassion human touch and interaction must overrule boredom. Praise was given to the new management, staff, new ideas, and new refurbishment. Although would love more bedrooms (Mam's) to be refurbished too, as well as the staircase. Praise also given to all the regular stoic staff who have braved the last two years of covid restrictions. Senior carers are always informative and listen well to any concerns. Special mention to the activities coordinator who has introduced some fabulous activities, visitors, entertainers, crafting sessions, outings etc., providing hands-on activities in which residents can experience one to one or in a group situation. These wonderful experiences need to be shared with families through newsletters/emails or posters in the porch.
My mother went to live at Redbrick House following severe dementia. She was both physically and mentally incapacitated and has resided there for approximately nine years until her recent death. Her care has been exceptional. Staff are kind, caring, approachable, often local to the area and many stay employed there for many years giving excellent continuity of care, and leadership is given by Registered Nurses present on every shift. Good food is cooked on the premises. Attention is given to activities with events co-ordinators both individual and group activities. My mother received excellent end of life care.
Mam was looked after really well. The staff were friendly and courteous. They clearly held mam in great affection and showed this to her and us. As mam was in her last days the staff were extremely sensitive to her dignity and very compassionate to us, her family. Thank you all.
Got told everything regarding my husband, including his care, nursing care, and outside medical assistance ie. District Nurse, GP. Management is excellent, always willing to answer any questions I put to them fully. Cannot fault the care at all.
My grandad transferred from London to Red Brick House in August 2021, the staff at Red Brick welcomed him and our family with open arms, as time went on my grandad needs became more complex and the nursing staff and care staff ensured that they did everything they could for him making sure he was comfortable, The staff at Red Brick were so supportive during the hard times, showing care and compassion throughout. I would like to thank every one of them who care for my grandad in the last few months of his life.
This care home is a very mind-numbing home to place a resident in. I would give it no stars if I could. Some staff are very rude when asked about care. Had major issues with security on the home as a resident was able to just walk out and go home during COVID. This happened more than once. Very hard to get staff to ring you back when needed. Rooms are basic. Residents sometimes wear other's clothes, even though you put name tags on. Food is okay. Very small garden which only a small amount get to use this. I really wouldn’t place my dog in here for a week never mind a family member, shocking service!
