View Full Details of South Quay Care HomeThe staff at South Quay Care Home was brilliant, they couldn't do enough for my mum. They used to pop in and out of Mum's room to make sure she was ok but during her last days before she passed away the staff was exceptional. Cannot fault them at all. They made Mum comfortable. Five stars for the care home and staff.
My mam has been having respite at this home and all I can say is how welcome she's been made to feel by all the staff, the manager has gone above and beyond to keep her safe, the staff are so friendly and I feel so relieved at how well my mam is being cared for, her health has improved so much and she is eating well and joining in all activities too, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend South Quay Nursing Home and I have peace of mind my mam is safe due to the wonderful caring staff.
My mam was moved here from palliative care for lung cancer in April and sadly took her last breath with family surrounding her on Monday 15th July. Once on arrival my mam and our family were welcomed with open arms. I can't put into words the amount of gratitude I have for the care, love and support my mam had off the carers and also myself as it became my second home. My mam settled straight in which was our concern as a family. She loved all the carers and it's heartwarming seeing how they made my mam feel so comfortable. The support we had as a family in the last dark hours I will never forget. The send-off they gave my mam was lovely and emotional. I will forever be grateful to every single one of these guys.
My father was admitted in May for fast track continuing care pathway and was treated with the utmost kindness and care and everyone from the manager downwards was totally professional and committed to offering the very best of care and concern and friendliness. Nothing was too much trouble in the quest to keep him comfortable and make his final days as pleasant as possible under the circumstances. I could not ask for better or praise everyone too highly. As it turns out, his stay was relatively short but I felt comfortable knowing that he was safe and looked after as well as possible in his final days. I would recommend this care home to anyone seeking a safe and comfortable place for their relatives.
My dad didn't stay long as his health deteriorated very fast. From arriving at the door with him very poorly after caring for him at home, we were greeted with friendly, caring faces and a warm welcome with compassion as I was visibly upset. From being carried out of the car to a wheelchair and taken inside, all my father's care needs were met and they couldn't have been kinder to my dad and my family. Anything to make my dad's last days more comfortable, they offered, and when I wanted to stay with him, a bed was provided. He was spoken to so lovely, and his care was respectful until the end. One nurse I can only describe as an angel that night, and I don't think she will realise how much comfort I gained from her. Lots of lovely carers I saw when I visited throughout the day, and I can't remember all thier names, but I remember one. He is like a ray of sunshine. Up until after my father passed - we couldn't have been better cared for or supported.
My father spent a few weeks at South Quay before passing away. The staff made me and my family feel so cared for and were the right balance of friendly and efficient/professional. The care the staff gave my father went above and beyond. Thank you to all.
My mam was only briefly in this care home as she received end of life care. My sisters and I could not fault the care my mam received, it was second to none. All the staff were amazing and nothing was too much at all. My mam had previously spent four and half weeks in hospital and then was told there was nothing more they could do for her, but she needed twenty-four hour care. From the moment she arrived at the care home, Mam was more settled and was praising all the nurses and carers of how lovely they were. My mam was in the palliative care suite, which was lovely. My mam seemed more relaxed and we could visit when we wanted. On behalf of my mam, my sisters and I would just like to add a special thank you to several of the staff members who were outstanding with the care they give to Mam, treating her with dignity and respect. I would recommend this home to anyone who is looking for a care home, it was like a home from home with amazing staff.
I cannot express how brilliant the staff and management have been. The way they have looked after my wife, myself and our visitors is above and beyond the call of duty.
The majority of carers are amazing and some go above and beyond in their care of the residents. My father-in-law loves them and they are so good with him making him laugh and including him in activities. They are so patient and kind.
During a difficult time for our family, the entire team picked us up and looked after not only our dad, who was in palliative care but the entire family. We all felt immediately at home. Even during busy periods, they were there when we needed them. The dignity they ensured our dad maintained was heartfelt. With our warmest thanks.
My mother-in-law was in this home for end-of-life. I can honestly say she was well cared for and always kept clean and comfortable. The staff were brilliant with her. One lady was a godsend for us, right up to her final day. The presentation at the end was so moving and a comfort to the family. Thank you to you all for the care and support of her and her family.
I was sent to South Quay from the hospital for some respite after breaking both my outer ankles and injuring my right arm. When I got there, the staff were waiting for me in my room. I've never met so many loving people in my life. I was given so much respect, and I respected every one of them. So thank you to one and all for taking care of me, and I miss you already.
Visited friend and warmly greeted by staff. Covid rules followed precisely by care home. Smelt fresh on entering home, and all residents nicely dressed and clean. Nice atmosphere. My friend (resident) looked very content and comfortable. Nurse in charge treat her with care and dignity, which was nice to see and spoke to her in a lovely, gentle way.
Can't thank the manager and staff for excellent care and kindness in looking after my mother.
Staff and management really do care about the residents. Special thanks to one particular nurse; she is an angel. She does get things gone. My mam is a different person.
The care my mam got in the final weeks of her life was outstanding, to say the least. She was looked after and made very comfortable. Even though the staff were always very busy and under pressure, they still made sure my mam was looked after to a high standard. I don't think there could have been a better care home for my mam to go in. I can't thank them enough for what they have done; the manager, the carers, nurses and cleaners, all of them were great.
The staff were exceptionally caring towards my partner at all times. Very caring and helpful. I am so grateful for all their efforts.
This is the finest care home I have stayed, but visited many to see family and friends. The only one that is more like a hotel, smelling so clean and pleasant. I will certainly recommend it to people. I am in for two weeks recovering from an operation as my husband is disabled.
My father had been as South Quay since 2014 until his death a few months ago. I always had positive experiences with the home, but up until the 3-weeks preceding his death did not fully appreciate how much they evidently loved my dad as if he was a part of their own family. He was sent from hospital to the home and was an end of life pathway since he was no longer able to eat and drink. My family stayed with him the 2-3 weeks that he was there until his death, and 24/7-7-days a week, were truly moved by the love, care and tenderness all the staff (and particularly the carers) treated him with. I honestly cannot praise them highly enough, and as I am writing this am welling up with tears recalling how beautifully they treated Dad in his last days on earth, and even though there is great sadness that he is no longer with us, there is an element of joy that he had such a tender loving set of people around him when he passed. Two particular ladies and everyone else, thank you so, so much.
My father received superb care and excellent nursing care in the last week of his life. All the staff clearly care about the residents and do their best for them, which is great to see.
