My mother is overall happy at Preswylfa. She is safe and looked after well. She feels that the food selection is good and has no complaints.
Food and drink- Food is not always up to standard, for example, cheap cuts of meat. Friday fish is in a roll? With a small amount of flakey fish. Activities- Two members of staff work really hard but not many residents take part. There isn't an activity every day. Suggest a singer/magician/dancer etc. for a change. Value for money- Quality of food and lack of regular activities are letting the home down. Do activities have enough budget and input?
I find the staff excellent. Hard-working, caring and understanding. The room my husband is in is rather small, but they are probably all the same, more or less. It would be improved with fresh paint on the wall from the door to the bathroom. Also, the carpet is grubby. The staff say it is harder pushing wheelchairs etc. on the carpet than it would be if the floor was laminate for example. However, taken as a whole, I think the home is very good.
Excellent staff and very professional and caring, even if understaffed, they show to try their best. I am happy with my friend's care and will miss all of you.
Very well run and staff are polite and friendly.
My stepfather wasn't coping at home, so came into the care home. The staff here are very friendly and professional, the environment is light and airy. The activities team have brought him out of his shell, he is more social now, he's able to get his hair cut and a chiropodist attends. He has chosen to use his own bedding and bring a couple of things from home. He gets his meals cooked, he's not always happy with them, as he is a fussy eater, but the staff try to offer something else. They have regular entertainment and theme days. He is very happy here.
Our daughter has been a resident of Preswylfa for approximately 12 years, she has been treated with the utmost dignity and respect by all the staff. We would not hesitate in recommending this home to anyone. All the staff are very helpful. There are plenty of activities for the residents to take part in, regular entertainment in the form of films and singers.
Excellent. Good to know my mum is in a good care home.
Before the lockdown, I visited my mum nearly every day - I could see how well she was and the first-class treatment that she (and all the other residents) were having. I was always met with friendliness, and they would kindly give me a drink of tea. I was also encouraged to take part whether it be jigsaws, craft, quizzes or just watching the TV. There was a sense of community, and that made everything light-hearted. The marks reflect the high-standard both pre lockdown and during covid-19 outside visiting.
What a beautiful home! Amazing staff, they could not try any harder for my mother. Nothing is too much effort, a home from home care home, it’s no bother us taking her out for meals or us bringing in a take away. We feel we have got our mum back. The home always smells fresh, not like the stigma that care homes smell of urine. Amazing! Thank you to all in Preswylfa; nurses, managers, care staff, cleaners and cooks. Thank you for helping me get my mum back.
My great Uncle spent the last couple of months here before he sadly passed away yesterday. There were many issues that needed ironing out but they are not as pressing as yesterday when I went to collect his personal belongings at 4pm as arranged and walked straight into the unlocked room where he still was, uncovered. It was devastating and not one member of staff spoke to us as we left. Total disregard for any loss.
My mother is well cared for, the staff treat her as if she was family. The room is decorated to her choice with her pictures. The menu is amazing and the kitchen team cater to her needs. I was nervous about the care home experience but all I can say is amazing things about Preswylfa.
As a resident, I am more than happy to live here.
The staff seem to be extremely kind. Mother seems happy most of the time and facilities are very good. The nursing staff are good.
While I have only been here a short time, I have only the utmost respect towards all members of staff. No matter what you may be suffering from, and also the fact you are also away from family, each member of staff is always on hand to 'make' life being there and to comfort your needs and worries. I personally have the greatest 'thank you' to you all, who have taken the time to care for everyone here, especially myself.
My mother came in Preswylfa as a very poorly woman after having a stroke. She is receiving the care that she needs and has improved immensely. She looks like she did before her stroke and is getting the right nutrition to strengthen her up. The carers are excellent with mum and she loves the home.
Staff look after me well. I can do as I please. Nothing is too much for them. I stay in bed a lot of the time but if I call my bell, they are there. The food is enjoyable too.
The staff are very caring and helpful. They keep the family up to date with health issues. The rooms are always clean and tidy.
The family are happy with the care home and the staff are friendly.
I am well looked after, staff show me love and care, I enjoy the musical afternoons.
